I have been storing old e-mails in folders

I have been storing old e-mails in folders under "on my Mac". All e-mails with a date prior to April 2014 have now disappeared? How can I get them back?

Hi
This does not make sense. Why would e-mails just be deleted prior to a certain date whilst the othere are still there? This has never been a problem before

I have been storing my Aperture and IMovie Libraries on an external hard drive that recently died.  Fortunately I've been using Time Machine to back up to a 2nd external drive.  How do I restore my libraries to a new external hard drive?

    This is a tricky one.
Open up Time Machine and go back to a date using the timeline on the right side of the window when you know the drive was working and was backing up as part of Time Machine backups.
Click on the name of your Mac under the Devices heading on the left side of the window in Time Machine, and if things are working correctly you will see Macintosh HD (or whatever you have named it) and the name of the external hard drive that was backing up in the past.
Right-Click on the name of the external hard drive and then click on "Restore (name of drive) to....."  You may be asked for your adminstrator password at this point.
It might be easier to restore the drive contents to your desktop if you have room on your Mac, and then copy things over to the new external drive where you want to store the Aperture and iMovie Libraries.
Once the libraries have been moved over the new external hard drive, you will likely need to "point" Aperture and iMovie to the location of the libraries on the new external hard drive.

  • I have been storing my music and photos in an external drive how to I transfer them to Time Capsule now that I acquired one?

I have been storing my music and photos in an external drive to save disk space in my computer. Now that I purchased the Time Capsule what do I have to do to transfer such files to my time capsule?

I have been storing my music and photos in an external drive to save disk space in my computer
How have you been backing up the data on your computer and the external drive up until now?
I assume that you want to use the Time Capsule to back up your Mac and the external drive. Is that correct?

Some of my downloaded album tracks have been stored in my iTunes library in separate places, how do I compile them together to form a complete album?

Generally all you need to do is fill in an appropriate Album Artist. For more details see my article on Grouping Tracks Into Albums, in particular the topic One album, too many covers.

  • How can I tell if my Documents have been stored in iCloud?

How can I tell if my Documents have been stored in iCloud?

It appears that those three options are still Beta and will have stored documents that I intentionally stored there.
I was hoping to determine if my existing data was in the Cloud, much like my contacts, email etc was synched with my phone and now exists in the cloud.

    in Safari, certain
characters like hyphens and apostrophes appear as
    black diamonds with question marks.
This has nothing to do with fonts. It usually happens when your encoding is set wrong for a specific page. Panther Safari did not show these diamonds, but just displayed nothing, so people get the impression something has changed, but it really hasn't.
In Safari, I'm using Unicode (UTF-8) as my default
    encoding. Is this setting correct?
Not if you keep running into pages with black diamonds. It would be better to set your default to Western ISO Latin 1. The black diamonds will probably go away.

Since upgrading iMac to osx lion I have been experiencing problems in mail, it spontaneously stops receiving and tells me it can't find the pop server and also the biggest problem is that when I send with an attachment the recipient doesn't receive it.
I have to restart mail most times before it starts recieving or recognizes the pop server.
As I said a lot of recipients do not recieve my mails when there is an attachment or when I reply to their email.

Trying new ID/Password message appears "maximum no. of free accounts have been activated".
Using old ID/Password message apperas "you can,t sign in because account was disabled for security reasons ......reset password at iforgot.apple.com which i did.
    Can anybody help please??

    Hi,
I tried to log in to iCloud but a message appears telling me I "can't sign in because my account was disabled for security reasons....reset password at iforgot.apple.com". I don't know why this happened.
I reset both my Apple ID and password.
When I tap Settings iCloud is listed on the left side between General and Mail, Contacts etc.
Tapping iCloud brings up a log in screen for iCloud which shows my old Apple ID and requests the password. If I put the password in I get the message as above.
If I use the new Apple ID/Password I get the message "the maximum number of free accounts have been activated....
In settings there is no option to "Delete Account"
    Any suggestions??

  • Table in which the changes of SD-Documents have been stored - not CDPOS?!

    Dear Friends,
I need to know in which table I can find  the document number from Sales/Order Documents in which the Incoterms have been changed. It must be something like CDPOS, but my helpdesk told me, they wouldn't find entries with Tabname = VBKD or Field = Inco1
But where can I find them?
Thank you very much for your help!
    Best regards,
    Volker

    Hello to all,
we found the mistake we made. My helpdesk support made a query in table CDPOS regarding entries where the TABNAME=VBKG . But the right table is VBKD. So we try again and I hope I will get som entries.
    Thank you and best regards,

  • I use the same e-mail account on my PC and ipad.  Lately I have been getting an e-mail that says no sender with no content and a date of 1969.  It shuts down some of my e-mails and goes away later.  this does not occur on my PC

I keep getting on my e-mail a no sender with a date of 1969, wipes out my e-mails temporarily but doesn't happen on my PC?

Try turning the account off and on : Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars , then tap the account on the right, slide Mail to 'off', exit settings and go back into the Mail app, and then go back to Settings and slide Mail back to 'on'
If that doesn't work then try closing the Mail app via the iPad’s multitasking bar (I'm assuming that your iPad is on iOS 7) : double-click the home button to open the taskbar and then swipe or drag the Mail app's 'screen' up and off the top of the screen to close it, and click the home button to close the taskbar.
And do a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

    Hello Ezyk
There are some things that you can check through Mail, the following article will assist with troubleshooting and getting your email back up and running. The big one to use is Connection Doctor, it will tell you why it cannot connect and get mail.

  • I have been unable to access mail for 3 days.

I can log into iCloud and use calendar, Find my iPhone and Contacts but not mail. All other mail accounts are working fine in Apple Mail.
This is the message I am getting when I try to get my mail.
The iCloud IMAP server “p02-imap.mail.me.com” rejected the password for user “[email protected]
I deleted and reinstalled iCloud on Apple Mail, emptied Safari cache, restarted the iMac. It is still not working.

Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • Can't seem to open docx attachments that have been sent via e-mail. using acrobat XI with windows 7

    can anyone make any suggestions

docx files are Word documents; you need to open them in Microsoft Word, not Adobe Reader or Acrobat.
If they automatically open in Reader/Acrobat, then your file association for .doc/.docx is corrupted, and you need to repair it.  See http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/change-the-program-that-opens-a-type-of-file
