I have been unable to update Firefox 12 using a dialup connection. I have tried repeatedly.
I am using a dial up connection. I have tried several times to update to FF 12. most connections are 24 at best usually at night. The last download showed Firefox scanning for viruses. I have been unable to locate the downloads anywhere. Very often the download just disappears before finishing. I have tried 4 times.This connection is at a weekend home where the computer is used infrequently. Down loads are difficult at all times due to the very slow connection.
Before upgrading to FF 12, you might look at all the other horror stories on here associated with the upgrading to 12 and all the people still trying to get it to work. That's doesn't mean it won't work on your computer but there could be a high probability, especially if you have a lot of processes running and plugins installed.
See other problems on this forum and then decide. People have been returning back to older versions (11) or going to Beta 13. Due to the size of the initial download (exe file), you can put it on a flash drive from a friend's computer and then run it on yours. FF 9.0.1 is 14 Meg alone. not sure about other versions.

I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on exactly what kind of streaming you are talking about or what you are seeing when you try to do so in Safari. If the sites in question are Flash-based, you may need to make sure that Flash Player is up to date in Safari, as noted in this article:

After updating to Mavericks, I have been unable to update iphoto, and when I attempt to, it says that These apps were already assigned to another Apple ID, and they will be available in that Apple ID's Purchases list. But no other appleID has ever been used on my computer, how could this be resolved?
Contact App Store support. There's a link on the right hand side of the App Store Window. They're the only ones who can sort out account issues.

I have been unable to update iTunes on my Windows PC. An error message keeps coming up saying a .dll is missing. My daughter has experienced the same issue with her PC. No problems with my iMac or iOS devices. I thought I may have some corrupted files, so I deleted iTunes and attempted to download it. The same error message came up, and now I don't have iTunes on my PC. Has anyone experienced a problem with an update of iTunes on a Windows based PC?

if you have ios 5.0 on your device you can update it directly from the iphone.
go to settings / softwareupdate.

I am using an older windows computer with Windows XP and iTunes 11.0.5.5. Since upgrading my iPhone and iPad my system will not allow me to connect the devices to my iTunes -- it notes I need to upgrade to iTunes 11.5. However using automatic updates or manual update I can not update iTunes -- I get an error message the older windows iTunes could not be removed. I can not remove iTunes using control panel -- an older install/uninstall file is evidently missing. All of my music is contained on my PC -- more music is on my PC than I store on my other devices and I don't want to loose those music files nor permission to access those music files. Does anyone have a solution to uninstalling and upgrading windows iTunes without losing my music. I would like to be able to connect my iPhone and iPad to my PC again. RS

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.0.1. For the iPad Mini the iOS is 6.0.2. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily. Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).

I am running OSX 10.6.7 and Firefox 3.6.12. Although I regularly receive update notices for Firefox I cannot download them -- the download progress bar keeps on grinding with no end.
You have an iPhone 3G.
Apple stopped support for iPhone 3G after 4.2.1. Therefore the highest software version for the iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2nd generation is 4.2.1
Only iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod touch 3 and iPod touch 4 can go beyond 4.2.1.
Also, there's nothing wrong with iTunes. -
I installed OS Yosemite and I got the following message "The Photo Library needs to be upgraded to work with this version of iPhoto. I clicked Updgrade, but it has been two days and it hasn't been able to upgrade my library and none of my picture are showing. Don't know what to do. Please help.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

i get an update notice for Imovie but when I try to update it the APP Store will not accept my Apple ID password. I have no problem updating other apps and downlaoding apps and music. I have the Mavericks OS but the problem is a carryover from Mountain Lion.

That is normal, for major upgrades to erase your iPod. You need to sync everything to your computer, make sure it gets a backup, and then post-update restore your iPod from the backup and sync back all your apps and content. See:
