I have bleed through and song skipping (within seconds).

I am totally frustrated at this point. I have had this shuffle for about 1 month and have nothing but problems, this is my first apple product and it is not winning me over. I have redownloaded itunes multiple times, I have also restored my shuffle multiple times with the same issue. I have also asked for all the music to be set at one level without success. There is horrible bleed through and skipping of songs. Many times the itunes says it cannot read my shuffle. I am so frustrated, I need HELP.

Since it is less than one-year old, it is under warranty. If you have an Apple Store nearby, you should make a reservation at the Genius Bar (you can do it online at the store's web page)

and take your shuffle there. If your computer is a laptop, take it along if possible. They can look at it hands on. If there is a defect, you can see about getting it replaced. That's what the warranty is for...
If there is no convenient Apple Store, contact Apple's "official" tech support by phone using the Contact Us link at the bottom right corner of this web page. It says there, under Contact Apple Support, "Mac, iPhone, iPod and iPad customers within 90 days of ownership are eligible for complimentary phone support — one support incident per iPod." You are within 90 days... speak to an Apple employee about your problem.
I have no suggestion for "There is horrible bleed through and skipping of songs."

Yes there is. Those songs are not actually on your iPad. They are in iCloud ready for download if you choose to do so. If you want to remove them go to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Show All>Music>Off. You can also do this in Settings>Music>Show All Music>Off.

iTunes Match is not sharable across Apple IDs. The best way to get the music on her iPad is to leave hers signed into her Apple ID on the iTunes Store and sync via USB.

I have PURCHASED movies and songs that I cannot access without wifi

How can I access PURCHASED movies and songs on my macbook pro or my ipad when I dont have wifi? I used to be able to access them, now I no longer can. Do I need to somehow download them onto the device? They all show a cloud after them.

You don't watch movies you've downloaded to your iPad in iTunes. You watch them in the Video app.

Invalid licence and song skipping

3 questions:
1. When I try to update iTunes, Quicktime and iPod in responce to an Apple message I am told that the licence is invalid. I am able to eventually get the new udates to run but surely this should be a straight forward operation which only takes a few minutes? Why is the licence invalid? and what can be done to enable updates to work first time?
2. My iPod skips tunes. I have just bought some music from the iTunes store but the iPod skips over one of them every time and will not play it. The tune plays OK on the PC. Is this fixable?
3. Why do Apple not answer some of these queries. It's great that some users are able to figure out the answers to some of these problems but an Apple moderator would surely have quicker access to the answers. I am currently running a program called BOINC which contributes results to a Climate Change Experiment. There are unpaid moderators who almost never fail to provide an answer to any problems a user may have. The experiment is run by Oxford university without a huge budget. Surely Apple with its huge resources should be able to provide help to users?

1. Back to the problem. The error message that appears is as follows:
"iTunes & Quicktime has an invalid signature. It will not be installed."
I did originally post this in January but only had one response which suggested that I remove iTunes from the PC and download afresh from the Apple site. I have done this and of course it works but surely any updates should run without any difficulty? I get by by downloading each update separately and then running each downloaded program separately. I still get the message from the "iTunesSetupAdmin.exe" file (I think) but as I don't know what this file does I don't really know if iTunes and/or iPod has succesfully updated.
2. I have reset it and reinstalled it without success. I know that I am not the only one with this problem as there is another post about it which has suggested that it is the latest updates which are causing this problem. The solution suggested was too involved for me as I didn't understand much of it!
I suppose that is why I am upset that Apple don't help at all. They appear to have put out an update with a problem but don't acknowledge that there is a problem - and the users have to poke around trying to find out how to make it work.

Ipod not syncing correctly and songs skipping on ipod but not itunes/wmp

My old ipod was having this same issue(so I presumed it was broken) and I wanted to get a new one as the old one was an 8 gig and didnt really have enough size for me so I bought a new 32 gig ipod. Unfortunately this new one is having the exact same problem and I cannot figure out why. I've tried uninstalling itunes and all the other apple programs and reinstalled them all and I've tried converting the songs to AAC but these have had no effect.
The songs play perfectly in both itunes and windows media player it's just when they transfer over to the ipod the problems start. Usually what happens is the song plays for xx seconds then the sound stops but the song continues playing on the ipod if I leave it alone the ipod skips to the next song but if I force it to speed up eventually the song kicks in again but at a different point. Other times the song will play out of sequence and will sound completely disjointed.
Another problem that keeps cropping is when trying to sync the ipod it will get about half way and randomly cut out on one song telling me it's corrupt but it's always a different song and will happily skip over previous songs that caused a problem when I run it again.
I would import all the music again but I don't have access to the CDs as I am out of the country for a year, I didn't buy any of the songs through itunes so can't re-download them either.
I am running vista 64 bit but I used the 64 bit installer so I'm not sure if that would really cause any problems or not and yes I made sure the ipod is up to date and I have tried resetting it numerous times.

It's hard to say without a lot more information; Here's a sample of things that would need to be answered in order to really determine the cause:
*Age of the computer and/or hard drive
*What application(s) are installed
What updates occurred or new applications were installed before the issues started popping up
*Whether files/folders have been deleted
About the only one that really matters for you now is the age of your hard drive. Most hard drives last for 3~5 years, and the hard drives on the newest iBooks (from 2005) would be nearing that 4-year mark. If you've never had your hard drive replaced, there is the possibility that the hard drive is failing. Hard drive failures can result in software corruption--which would be the issues you're seeing.
What you want to do from now on is make sure you have all your important data backed up (and all installation CDs/DVDs accounted for, just in case) and monitor the machine. If the odd behaviors return, we may have to do more troubleshooting.

Ok, I had a glitch, forced to restart, and lost my train of thought.
Reinstalling iTunes should fix the major issue that might have gone wrong, perhaps your explaination points will disappear and everything will be peachy again.
But if they don't, you can open the XML file in iTunes Folder using a Text edit program to see what the common pathname is to the iTunes Music folder or where your content is located.
If you moved the itunes folder, it needs to go back.
I can't download iTunes to my Vista virtual machine to test it out right now because iTunes is down, so I can't verify the pathname, perhaps your issue and the iTunes being down are related somehow?
You don't want to import all your music again, but it's a option, but you lose all your playlists, that's what I'm trying to recover.
If oyu don't have a whole lot of playlists, then simply select all the explaimation point music and delete, select File from the menu and import your itunes folder again.

I have duplicates, triplicates and songs with exclamation marks.

I keep an external drive for iTunes. When I reinstalled iTunes and pointed it to that drive, it imported my playlists, but the songs have exclamation marks. When I click on a song a window pops up asking if I want to locate that list; then the beachball kicks in and I have to perform a force quit.
Now I have three of every playlist and in the Music library, duplicate songs, some with [!] and some without.
Can/should I start over? If so, what are the steps?

Imported cds have no info and songs aren't listed together?

Every time I import a cd it lists the songs seperatly and rarely ever has song titles or album arwork. I used to know how to manually fix it, it was tedious but mostly worked, but with the new itunes I can't figure it out. The cds are major cds, for example the new Hobbit soundtrack. I'm just getting really frustrated. I've searched for album artwork and get track names, neither did anything. The only error I'm getting is CDDB info not available for some items.
Any ideas? I could take the no artwork or song names if they at least didn't list the songs individually throughout my itunes.

Perhaps the Artist information to the songs you imported have a space at the very front and this has caused it to sort the Artist differently.
Carefully review the artist information for the songs in question in iTunes and see if anything is different on the Artist information.

Have new computer and songs on iPhone and Ipod Nano won't sync

My old desktop crashed so we had to buy a new laptop. I have downloaded iTunes twice and tried every trick in the blogs and nothing works. I have an iPhone 3Gs and an iPod Nano full of songs but the only songs syncing are the ones that I've purchased on my iPhone. Nothing else is syncing. Also if I access the Iphone from the my Computer menu it shows up as a camera and if I access my Ipod nano none of the songs show up. Is there a way to sync my iTunes library from my Iphone or Nano? Is the external drive necessary(these are the only explanations on the blogs)? If yes then I'm done because my computer crashed. Please help!!

It has nothing to do with de-authorizing the old computer. You cannot use iTunes to transfer song files from iPod to computer (because it does not have that function), except as you indicated, for songs that you purchased from the iTunes Store. However, there are third-party methods and utilities that will allow transfer from iPod to computer. If you do a Google search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links (if you use a Mac, add "mac" to he search).
Once the song files are on your new computer, add them to the iTunes library. You can simply drag the files, or the folder(s) containing the files, to the iTunes window.
NOTE: This is how you can de-authorize the old computer without the old computer. Run iTunes and go to the iTunes Store in the sidebar. Log in with your Apple ID, if you are not already. Click on your Apple ID at the upper right corner of the window to go to your Account Information screen. There should be a button to Deauthorize All. This will deauthorize your current computer too, but you can authorize it again. (You can have up to FIVE computers authorized for your iTunes Store account, so you can just leave the old one authorized.)

2 problems -- ipod won't shut down and song skips

on certain songs (I've figured out I think that it's those with album art), I select the song but the ipod plays the next song in whatever selection I have.
Also, sometimes I have a very hard time shutting off the ipod.
I keep installing the new updates of firm-ware but with the same problem ... any ideas???

A new Mac user on an older MacBook. I have some how changed the size of the typeface that appears on web pages. I have gone through and looked under preferences and reset everything that i could find but this still dosent work.

I will try to describe things better. When I pull up a web page (in firefox or safari) the type face in the columns is larger than it should be. This results in the columns spreading to a second line and rearragning the rest of the page.

Laptop turns on and then off within seconds

Here is my problem.. My laptop, which is only 1 yr 3 mos old, will not cut on. I shut the lid and when I went to open it agian, it would not resume.. So I had to manual shut it down.. When I attempted to cut it on again, it will not come on.. The light will flash on and back off.

It is possible that it could be a bad RAM stick.
Try this: Take out one of your RAM sticks, reboot your computer. If it starts properly, then the RAM that was taken out was the culprit. If when you reboot you have the same problem, switch RAM sticks and try the same thing with the other RAM stick and see if that works.
If the problem is your RAM, this will tell you which one is bad.

Upgraded to 10.6.1.17 and now purchased songs skip

So I upgraded a couple days ago and have noticed that certain songs skip before the song is finished, anywhere from 60-20 seconds before the end of the song. The only songs I've noticed this on are purchased from the iTunes Store.
Crossafde is off and when I look at the songs the start and stop times are unchecked, but show the correct times? Seems to have been an ongoing issue for lots of users over the years, but I can't seem to find a solid answer?
Or how can I go through and force iTunes to re-download my purchased songs? It seems to think that as long as I have them I'd never need to download/replace them?

I had the same issue. Spent hours downloading, reinstalling and restarting. No luck. Found Ian.Gilmore's solution posted in Feb 2009 (Ian you are a saint). You use the Epson user interface to configure your network. Verbatim instructions are below. Press the "Home" button on the Workforce 600 interface panel. "Search SSID" brought up the name of my network and I used it rather than "WPA-PSK (TKIP)"
Here is Ian's solution:
"I was having the same issue. The Epson Software couldn't find the printer when it was connected via ethernet to my computer. I instead went through the actual printer UI and chose: Setup > Network Settings > Wireless LAN Setup > Manual Wireless LAN Setup > Infrastructure Mode > Search SSID > WPA-PSK (TKIP)
Once the printer connects to the network you can simply add it via Print & Fax."
