I have broken the screen on my ipad how much does it cost to replace?

does the scrren have to be repaied by apple? my Ipad is only 3 months old and has warranty for the rest of it.

    What country are you in ? The price for repair (i.e. replacement) for the iPad 3 and 4 appears to be around the €300 mark
    If you select your country at the top of this page, then select the 'Warranty & Service Pricing' section on the left of the screen, and then 'My iPad is not eligible for warranty service' section on the right, you should be able to see the price in your country.

    I don't know what country that you are in, but in the US the price for repair (i.e. replacement) is (from here) $299 for the iPad 3, and  here in the UK (from here) £256.44

    There are independent iPad repair services that may be able to replace the screen for less. Do a web search for "ipad repair".  You can also look for parts and instructions and do the repair yourself.     Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $99 for 16 GB 5G and $149 for the other 5Gs. They do not fix yours. Note the older 16 GB 5G has only a front camera and the other 5Gs (16 GB released late last month and the 32 and 64 GB 5Gs have both front and back cameras)

    The glass is part number 922-9795 and dvwarehouse sells it.  So that might give you an estimate of the minimum cost for replacement (unless you do it yourself).

    Apple does not fix, they replace the phone. Cost for an iPhone 4 is US $149. Make an appointment at any Apple store.

    You have to be the judge of whether it is cost effective to you. You can backup all of your app data with iTunes or iCloud and restore from the backup if you get a new iPad - and then all of your data and game saves should be restored. You should not lose your in-app purchases either as they are stored in the backup.
    If you have had an iPad for almost 3 years, I would hope that you have been backing up all along. If you sync with iTunes all of you apps and other media are stored in there, and iTunes has been backing up your iPad when you sync. Paid content can be downloaded again for free (in most cases) as long as you use the same Apple ID that you bought it with.
