I have cookies enabled, 3rd part enebled, history til expired. websites still say I need to enable cookies.

Pretty simple really. I have uninstalled and reinstalled firefox. I have been using firefox for 5 years, I'm not dumb. My history was and is set to custom. Cookies were and are enabled. 3rd party were and are enabled. no websites are excluded. Cookies are retained until they expire. Still the websites will not load, but send me to a help page to enable cookies.

There is usually no need to enable third-party cookies. Only some websites needs them enabled. E.g. you can't logout properly from Hotmail unless third-party cookies are enabled, but apart from that Hotmail (Windows Live) works without problems. You usually notice it when you have to enable third-party cookies because the website gives a warning. You end up with a lot of extra cookies if third-party cookies are enabled, so I keep them disabled and remove the live.com cookies myself in this case.

  • I have purchased mountain lion OS with my apple ID but still says I need to buy it??

So I got a used mid 2009 macbook pro from an american friend (which is from america obviously) and I cleared the hardrive and attempted to reinstall the OS.
So I made an account, reviewed it etc and finally bought OS mountain lion from the aus store (because my account is aus and that's where Im from) (1.7) but it still says I need to purchase it when I input my apple ID and password?
I don't understand why, do I need an american apple ID and OS?? I don't see why it would make a difference.....
I know the purchase has gone through because I've even received an email saying my details have gone through...

that's the issue, you bought the OS online so Donald is right, it is being mailed to you. post the URL where you bought it.
the 'app store' is an application running on OSX itself where you can DL software.
so, you have to wait for mountain lion to arrive.
if you want to get a clean OS on your machine now, do this
reboot holding down command/option/R (hoping your machine supports this)
open disk utility, erase your HD so you have a single mac journaled partition
choose install OSX on this HD
let it run. from what you said, you will be back on lion.

  • Some websites are saying I need to enable cookies when it is enabled already. I already tried deleting the cookie, deleting all cookies, clearing my cache, and uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox. How do I fix this?

I am trying to access my school's library database. When I log in to access the library, it tells me that the site needs to verify me by sending me a cookie. There's a link to log in again, but when I click it, it says "404 not found". My privacy settings already have cookies enabled, and I tried deleting the cookie and revisiting the site but the same thing happens. I also tried uninstalling Firefox and reinstalling it, but that didn't work either. I am able to access the library on my iPod Touch, and I've tried other browsers on this compute and I can't access them on other browsers either. So it is clearly some issue with my computer that is preventing me from accessing this library. I don't know how else I can resolve this issue and I need to do so ASAP because my inability to access the library off campus is severely hampering my ability to get my work done.

You need to enable third-party cookies if you want to logout from Hotmail. If you do not want to enable third-party cookies (I don't) then you need to remove the live.login and passport.net cookies yourself.

  • Facebook says I need to enable cookies, but I have followed all your steps.

Facebook says I need to enable cookies in order to log in. I am using windows 8.1. I have followed all the steps in the support section and am still getting the same error message.

Note that your System Details list shows that you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize prefs each time Firefox starts.
The user.js file is only present if you or other software has created this file and normally it wouldn't be there.
You can check its content with a plain text editor (right-click: Open with) if you didn't create this file yourself.
The user.js file is read each time Firefox is started and initializes preferences to the value specified in this file, so preferences set via user.js can only be changed temporarily for the current session.
You can delete possible user.js and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release.

To check your model go to About This Mac (by clicking on the Apple icon, top left) and then select more info. If you wish to use mirroring you will need one from 2011 or later running OSX 10.8 or later. The alternative would be to use 3rd party software like Airparrot.

  • A website says I need to enable cookies despite the fact they are already enabled

I attempt to log into the following website:
    http://www.ebtaccount.jpmorgan.com/JPM_EFS/login.aspx
and after I fill in my information and click on the login button, it says I need to enable cookies although I already have cookies enabled and I have even specifically allowed this website in the cookie settings. Has anyone else had this problem with other websites and if so, how did you fix it?

It's not you. The page is malformed. See http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=www.mgmmiragemomentum.com&charset=%28detect+au tomatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0 which indicates the errors. Also, I suspect bad java scripts. You need to contact the site's webmaster. They're using java scripts that fails for the latest versions of Safari and FireFox. Especially frustrating for Mac users who work for them.

  • I have deleted email and photos from my device but icloud still says I don't have any storage

I have deleted emails and photos from my device but iCloud still says I don't have enough storage to download the latest iOS version

You'll have to delete more data from the device.
Go to Settings>General>Usage to see how much "Storage" you have available on the device.  (Ignore storage on icloud, since that is not part of the equation.)

  • TS4009 My iCloud storage is full and I need to delete some stuff.  Can anyone tell me what is important to keep and what not?  I have done all I can but it still says I need to delete before I can back up on iCloud.

My iCloud storage is full and I need to delete some stuff.  Can anyone tell me what is important to keep and what not?  I'm just not sure what I really should back up each night and what doesn't really matter.  I know my photo's should back up, but other than that, I'm not really sure.
I have taken some pics off and videos and appt, but it still says I need to delete before I can back up on iCloud.  I'm starting to wonder if its a glitch with my personal phone.  Can anyone help me?
    Thanks!

Only you can decide what's critical to back up.  One option is to import your photos and videos to your computer (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083), then either delete them from your phone or exclude the camera roll from your backup in settings.
You might try going to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, tap the name of your device under Backups, under Backup Options tap Show All Apps, then turn them all to Off (including camera roll), then look at the size of your next backup.  If it doesn't go down significantly, something else is wrong.

    Hi morgangang,
Although that message is not listed in the following article, I would still go through it for help.  Things like installing in safe mode may help.
    QuickTime: Windows troubleshooting tips
    Troubleshooting Tips
Make sure your computer meets the system requirements.
Try running ScanDisk to verify that the directory is OK. This is an important step to take before installing any software.
Try running the stand-alone version of the QuickTime installer in "Safe Mode." It is available here. This can help to isolate issues with background applications, and some driver conflicts.
Make certain you have installed the most recent drivers for your sound and video cards. Even if you have a "brand new" computer, it is not guaranteed to have the most recent software installed. Contact the manufacturer of your sound and video cards for additional information.
Make certain you have installed a recent version of DirectX.
Errors are usually related to software conflicts, unusable files, or incompatibilities. They can also be related to specific hardware combinations, and sometimes the way in which the hardware is configured. Keep in mind that an error message does not necessarily point to a particular cause or solution. Since there can be many different causes for a particular symptom, some suggestions may not work, and you may need to discover a solution on your own.
Note: Please contact Microsoft Corporation or your computer vendor for help configuring Microsoft Windows.
