I have created a slideshow mp4 video in Lightroom 4 - I want it to play automatically

It is made up of 236 high resolution images and has a soundtrack. I burned it to a DVD, but when I put it in my HDTV blu-ray player it doesn't play automatically, I have to select the mp4 video and then it starts playing. I want it to play automatically when I insert the DVD in the tray. Is encore the right tool for this?

What you have now is a DATA disc in BluRay format... which is not really a "movie" disc... which is why it does not play automatically
You need to download the PDF and start reading to learn how to use Encore to AUTHOR a BluRay that will play automatically... also read the tutorials
I don't do BluRay, but I do have some links that give information on what you may give to Encore for authoring

I am a new user. I have created iPad versions of videos, but I can't get them to synch from my iMac to my IPad. I have consulted the Help section, but the videos do not appear in the iTunes library as movies.

Pad2, the new iPad Supported Video Formats & Movie Formats
    H.264 video up to 1080p, 30 frames per second, High Profile level 4.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats;
    MPEG-4 video up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats;
Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format
You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit to import the videos.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

  • I have created a slideshow using i Photo. How do I burn it to disc so that I can play it on my DVD?

I have created a slideshow using i Photo.
How do I burn it to disc to play on a DVD.
    I cannot access i DVD.
    Is this the problem?
I have exported the slideshow as a movie quick time file.
    What do I do next???

If your Mac is a new one, like mine, then it comes with a version of iLife that doesn't have iDVD and if so, there isn't an easy way to burn a DVD from iPhoto or iMovie that will play on a normal DVD player.  There is quite a bit of correspondence about this, but I couldn't find a good answer, apart from this:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/18460085#18460085
I ended up buying (via Amazon) a boxed version of iLife11, which has all the same software I already have, but with a copy of iDVD with it.
Seems to work well with iMovie, but at the moment, my copy of iPhoto has crashed - see:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/18943719#18943719
Having only just transferred from a Windows machine to a Mac, it seems incredibly arrogant for Apple to think people don't use DVD players anymore.

  • I have created a slideshow in iPhoto and then used iDVD to burn the sideshow to a DVD. The quality of the DVD is poor. Any ideas?

Poor in what way?  iDVD creates standard definition displays of 640 x 480 pixels and will not look as sharp as the orignal photos in the iPhoto slideshow on a Mac monitor.

  • How do you create a HD .mp4 video?

I've just downloaded the trial version of Elements 7 and when I imported my video file into it, I clicked Share and found a couple of presets but none that to a HD .mp4 file. Can anyone point me in the right direction please? Thanks

I'm not sure about the trial version of PE7, but the trial of PrPro C4 does not contain any MPEG CODEC's at all. This is due to licensing with MainConcept. Adobe would have to pay a royalty for each free trail version, so they omitted these CODEC's. Everything else still works, just nothing MPEG.
I know the trial versions of PE used to watermark any output, but wonder about the MPEG CODEC's, as they would have to pay royalties to MainConcept for PE too. I have the link on the info covering the PrPro trial, but could not find any for the PE trial. Someone with direct knowledge of the PE7 trial will have to confirm, or deny, my suspicions.
Out of curiosity, exactly where are you looking for these Export settings?
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • I can't import .mov and .mp4 videos into Lightroom 5? Why?

I'm not able to import videos (iPhone) into Lightroom 5. I've tried .mov and .mp4. Is there a cause/fix for this?

    BradRW wrote:

I've no idea the cause, nor a proper fix.
But here is a possible interim solution:
'Import Any Videos' script (free, by me):
    robcole.com - MiscLrScripts
It just re-encodes (or re-wraps) the video into a format that Lr likes, which you can do without the script if you have the tools and the know-how..

  • Cannot play JWPlayer mp4 videos - "error loading media, file could not be played" in MS Windows 7 Firefox. Works on Firefox for mac.

We use mp4 / mv4 type videos. These videos are viewed through a JWPlayer playlist. They work fine using Firefox browser on a MAC, however on MS Windows 7, I get "Error loading media, file could not be played". They also work fine from MS Windows 7 using IE and CHROME browsers. Any idea what might be causing the problem when trying to play them from the Firefox browser on a Windows platform?
I have already tried uninstalling Firefox, deleting my profile and re-installing the latest version.
I logged a support problem with JWPlayer and they indicated that it ma be a browser specific related issue with html5?
    Thanks for you help!

I would assume an issue with the HTML5 media player.
If those aren't working on Windows then it is possible that the proper codecs aren't installed.
You can try to disable the HTML5 media player and make Firefox use the Flash plugin.
You can do this by setting these two prefs to false on the <b>about:config</b> page:
    *media.windows-media-foundation.enabled
    *media.directshow.enabled

  • I converted my mp4 video files to SWF and now they just play over and over

Is there another extension that allows stopping and starting the video?

How you stop the video will depend on how you did the conversion and what software you used.
Flash would simple put a stop action in the last frame:
    stop();
Best bet is to go back and check the conversion software.
If nothing else, see if your HTML embed code uses anything like a "auto rewind" <param> and turn it off.

  • On Firefox v.21, when I visit a web page that has an embedded video, I do NOT want it to play automatically. How do I turn this OFF?

I checked my options settings for applications, and all of the known apps that play various formats of video files appear to be set to 'Always ask'. This does not resolve this problem, however. What I want to do is to set Firefox to NEVER automatically play ANY video that is part of a web page that I visit.
    How can I do this?

If I am seeing it correctly, the message in the video box
is reporting that the player has crashed. Reloading the
page should fix it. If your player still does not work
after reloading the page, you can go to the web page
for the player and download the player again.

  • How do I create a slideshow in PSE 8.0 and share it on my website using Premiere elements 7.0.  I

I have created a slideshow in PSE 8.0 but how do I get it into Premiere Elements 7 to create a video I want to show in my website?  Do I have to buy Premiere Elements 8.0 surely ther must be a way to pass files?

Adobe is making it difficult for people who have Photoshop Elements 8 and Premiere Elements 7.
If you also have Photoshop Elements 7, I suggest that in the future you consider making your slideshows in Photoshop Elements 7 because it of course does support transfer to Premiere Elements 7. Or you can make the entire slideshow in Premiere Elements 7.
The only option that I can identify for making a file of your PSE 8 slideshow is to do a WMV file from the PSE 8 slideshow output command.
This approach has the disadvantage of doing a compression in PSE to make the WMV file and then doing another compression in Premiere Elements 7 for whatever format you will use to upload to your website.

  • Why does PE10 crash creating a slideshow?

I have created numerous slideshows with many images using the nice Pan&Zoom features. However, PE10 will crash upon creating the output video. This is dependent on the resolution chosen.
I don't seem to have much trouble with 720x480 DVD output. 800x600 will also work most of the time, but 1024x768 will fail often.
I have been able to get all modes working by simply saving my project, closing PE10, reopening the app & prj, and then doing the output video creation.
So it seems there maybe some memory leak bug or something like that. For example, when the 1024x768 mode works, if I move onto more projects & video outputs, eventually PE10 will crash.
But if I close, and re-open, then all seems to be fine. PE10 wants a clean start.
PE10 is the first version I've had where Photoshop Elements has crashed numerous times for varied reasons, and yet Premiere Elements seems ultra stable in comparison.
Sure would love to see an update for both though from Adobe - why is there no update by now?

The slideshow output process of the Elements Organizer uses Windows Temporary files.  Therefore it is my suspicion that you are reaching some limit on those Temporary files - either the disk space on your hard drive or specific Windows OS limits on Temporary files.
    Geneeral considerations are
-- Therefore doing the Windows disk cleanup process for your hard drive might make available more hard drive space for the temporary files needed during the slide show editor output process.
-- Your reported results that closing Photoshop Elements and restarting again can avoid the problem (for awhile) seems to confirm the possibility of some type of space or temporary files  problem.
-- Since your are failing for 1024 x 768, I suspect that you are not actually burning a physical disc. So I think that 99jon's recommendation might need to be modified to say that you create the 1024x768 wmv file from Premiere Elements instead of burning a disc.
-- If your problem is insufficient hard drive disc space, then I doubt that sending to Premiere Elements for output can solve insufficient space.
-- If your problem is specifically Temporary files, then using Premiere Elements for output might avoid that problem.  However, I would try a Disk Cleanup first.

  • Slideshow with video

I've created a slideshow with video and photos. In plays back fine within Aperture. When I connect a projector (mini display port to vga at 1024x768), the photos play fine but the video skips. It plays fine if I esport the slide show and then play it with the monitor. Video is 1920.
Since I'm doing this at a wedding and time is short, I'm trying not to export the slideshow.
Can I make this work without exporting?

Are you at the wedding now? I guess you going to taking shots and video and trying to put something together that you can show while at the wedding? You must like pressure
How are you showing the video through the projector? USing the secondary viewer settings in Aperture or just mirroring your laptops screen via the OS?
Whichever one your using try the other. To be honest this may be a tough thing to troubleshoot you may have to just do the export. Think of something to entertain them with while the Aperture exports.

  • I've got a new iMac with Mountain Lion OS.  Created a slideshow complete with music in iPhoto.  Every time I try to export to iPhoto slideshow folder, it freezes.  Help!

I've got a new iMac with Mountain Lion OS.  Have created a slideshow complete with music in iPhoto, but every time that I try to export it to an iPhoto slideshow folder, it gets halfway through and freezes.  This has been going on for a couple of days.  I've tried opening iPhoto holding down the option key, but it doesn't make a difference.  Any advice, please?

    Upgrade to v9.4.1 or
Trash the HP Plug in from /Library/Application Support/iPhoto
There are two libraries where this plugin might be
    HD/ Library
    and
    HD/Users/Your Name / Library
(On 10.7 or later: Hold the option (or alt) key while clicking on the Go menu in Finder to access the User Library)
