I have credit but it keeps sending me to credit card?

I have $8.56 worth of credit on my itunes account but whenever I try to buy a song it keeps sending me to the credit card form! This has never happened before, maybe it's because my credit card is out of date? However I only use giftcards to buy itunes media. Someone help?

Then remove your CC info, view your iTunes account info and select None.

As regardss to the iChat and iChat Sharing categorisation you have used.
In iChat 6 (lion) and Messages (Mountain Lion) the apps login to AIM and to Me.com
The Login to Me.com allows AIM to verify the password to the iCloud issued names (@me.com and @iCloud.com)
This "Dual" login also prevents the newer iCloud issued name from using this site
(it has extra Privacy settings that iChat can't access for your AIM and Aim valid Accounts)
Ignoring the @mac.com and MobileMe entries in the Add Account Screen in iChat and using the AIM one does not get around this issue.
AIM and @mac.com names still work in older versions of iChat.
The short answer is that iCloud issued Apple IDs do not work in iChat 5 or Earlier.

If you have an existing ID, & you don't want to use a credit card, you'll have to redeem an iTunes gift card. If you don't want to do that, you'll have to create a new ID by following the directions here, EXACTLY:

Both of you need to have iMessage activated, and both have to have active Internet connection for iMessage. Are you both using the same Apple ID? Are you using the phone number or Apple ID for messages?

Get an iTunes gift card & redeem that in iTunes. You can setup an App store account without a credit card, but to purchase paid content you need a payment method.

Call the Apple Store and ask them what you should do if you want to purchase on line without a credit cart and without purchasing a gift card which seems to me would require a credit card.

I would suggest that you buy a visa or mastercard gift card and put a few dollars on it and use it to access the store. Just add money to it before you want to buy something from the store and it will act like a normal credit card for you.
