I have CS3 upgrade installed on a new Mac, the old one died. Can't boot it because it wants the version before CS2 serial

How can I retrieve my serial number that we paid $1,000.00 for on an older version? So we can use the upgraded one on my new one?

What OS is on your new Mac? I'm doubtful AE CS3 will even run if it's new!
The oldest version of AE that is okay to run on OSX v10.10 (Yosemite) is CS6 (After Effects version 11.0.4).
I'd recommend just upgrading to After Effects CC 2014. It's significantly cheaper than $1,000.00 (think $20 a month or $50 if you want the ENTIRE software suite)
The current version of AE is 13.1.1 - to compare, AE CS3 is version 8.0.2
If I remember correctly, CS3 was the first version of AE that even supported Intel processors on the Mac!
Anyway, in case it might work, the serial numbers should be on the case that the After Effects version 7 discs came in.
If you don't have a serial number on that disc and you were doing some form of online activation, you're in for some more fun! Adobe no longer supports CS2 online activation. You will need to do this via iTunes to start with as you need to copy your iTunes files to the new computer.
If you have everything on your iPad you can select "transfer purchases..." when plugging your iPad into your new computer and in iTunes (right/ctrl click the iPad icon) after telling iTunes to not sync this iPad.
Once the items are in the new iTunes then when it asks if you wish to sync to this new iTunes your items will be copied to the iPad again.
However if you do not have all iTunes items on your iPad, then you will need to follow the instructions on to move iTunes first, then deal with your iPad.

Transferring data to new mac without old one

I am in Africa and planning to leave my laptop behind and buy a new one when I return to the US. I want to transfer music, pictures, and some documents on pages to my future mac. I currently have a mac notebook that is about 6 years old and I think the most recent software it has is snow leopard. I do not have a flash drive or external hard drive. I have wifi most of the time but it is ungodly slow and spotty. Is there a way to transfer the data without having both the old and new mac next to each other? I would also prefer to find a way that does not require a flash drive or external hard drive because I would have to ship it here and whether it would get here not broken, not stolen, and within two months before I leave is extremely questionable. How to transfer account/library to new computer after old one died?

My 4 year old Windows XP computer had a meltdown last weekend and the hard drive was re-set to original factory status - erasing tons of programs, data, settings etc that had accumulated over the years. Fortunately I have much of the C-Drive backed up and most data was moved some time ago to a network drive so all 4 of our household computers can access the same data. But some data, like Itunes and Outlook Calendar are stored by default on the C drive. I started restoring programs but concluded the computer still had stability issues and since I was overdue for a new one, got a new Windows 7 model. I still have the old one and it sort of works so I can copy files from it to the new one if needed. My Ipod Touch was synched recently and it is super valuable because i had a lot of info in my old computer's Outlook Calendar that I assume was also lost, but it is on my Ipod. How can I synch it safely onto the now bare Outlook on my new computer? Will the blank outlook synch my Ipod to blank? Can I rescue my 2500 song library and thousands of contacts?

Your iTunes Library is unrelated to your logic board, however, you will need to "authorize" your computer to play your iTunes purchased content since iTunes considers a new logic board a completely new computer (which it is).
If for some reason your iTunes Library was lost, of course you can restore it from Time Machine. You can also re-download your iTunes purchased music again since it is all linked to your Apple ID.
You won't be charged for what you already bought.

My previous laptop (PC) motherboard died and I just recently brought a new laptop. I did not have a external hard drive or anything, so I lost everything from the laptop. Is there anyway that I can sync my iPhone to the new laptop and have everything, including the songs on the new computer? The new laptop is running Windows Vista.

The iPhone is not designed or intended to be a backup storage device.
When syncing an iPhone with an iTunes library on another computer, all iTunes content on the iPhone that was transferred from a different computer will be erased from your iPhone first, and the same applies to photos transferred to an iPhone via the iTunes sync process.
First you need to authorize your computer with your iTunes account with iTunes. iTunes includes an option to transfer iTunes content that was purchased from the iTunes store from an iPod or iPhone, but this is for iTunes content that was purchased from the iTunes store only. With your iPhone connected to iTunes and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go go File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone. If all 3rd party apps do not transfer to your iTunes library on your new computer, you can re-download the apps with iTunes on your computer and you won't be charged again for a purchased app as long as you use the same iTunes account to re-download the app that was used to purchase the app originally.
Before syncing contacts with a supported application on your computer, which can be with Outlook 2003 or 2007 including calendar events, or with the address book used by Windows Mail (Windows Contacts) for contacts only, enter one unique contact in the application on your computer - the same for a calendar event if you have Outlook 2003 or 2007 available. This will provide a merge prompt when syncing this data, which you want to select.

Last year, the video card went out without warning, and Apple says the only thing they can do is replace the Logic Board, but it definitely will not be covered under the extended recall warranty because the issue happened outside of the warranty date. Next, in iTunes go to the purchased section. On the computer iTunes it can be found under 'Quick Links" on the right hand side of the iTunes Store. On your phone go to iTunes, More and then purchased to find purchases.
Mind that you must be logged into your old account to download these purchases.

Chas50 I would recommend removing the currently installed Adobe Creative software. You can then install the new versions of the Adobe Creative software included with your membership. How did you install Logic onto your new Mac Book?
From the App store or from the DVD boxed set?
If it was downloaded from the App store then it should already be v9.1.8... and if it isn't you need to call Apple to help you sort this out.
If it was originally from the DVD boxed set then you must update using software updates....
If software updates cannot find Logic to update it then you either have...
Renamed the Logic Pro app in which case rename it back to Logic Pro
or
The Logic Pro App is not in the applications folder which is where it needs to be to be updated... so move it back there.
