Hi all,
I use iPhoto and Photoshop on my Mac for different purposes: iPhoto for family events and travel that I won't be doing much (if any) editing to, and Photoshop (Elements 7) for my hobby photography pictures.
I got on Photoshop this morning to import some recent photos from my camera, hooked things up as always, opened Bridge CS3, and selected File>Get photos from camera.
For some reason, I can't find the Delete Original Files checkbox in the Photo Downloader screen (whereas it shows up here: http://livedocs.adobe.com/en_US/Bridge/2.0/help.html?content=WSEC378273-AF69-4a1e-9CD8-10 8420C556ED.html). I could be totally wrong, but thought I've always done things this way in the past to reduce a lot of tiny-camera-button-clicking through tons of photos.
Did this button disappear with a version update? Do I have some other option set incorrectly to not allow this one to appear? Or has the button never been there, and if not, is there a way to delete photos in mass from my camera?

What you saw was a screenshot of Bridge CS4, somewhat misleading regarding the URL mention Bridge 2.0 in fact it is Bridge 3.0 that comes with CS4. And for some strange reason they added this option to Photodownloader CS4, IMO that energy could have been used better...
However as per Ramón, using this way is also in my opinion not the best way to work. If you don't want or have a card reader (again, not wise :-) ) then only download image from the camera and after this disconnect the camera and use the camera menu itself to format the CF card and start with a fresh and empty CF card.
BUT, don't do this before you have checked if the files you have copied to the computer are OK to open and again a wise thing would be to first make a back-up (if you study the downloader options a little you will see that this is also an option you can (or in fact should) use.

Many thanks for your answer, i use windows 8.1! I have found the problems: For install the news version the install need the old installer (but i delete all installer, cause they use a lot place on hard drive (SSD)).
I have desinstall the whole Adobe and réinstalled it, i have save the whole installer on a external disk. So when the installer asked the old installer i indicate to programm my external disk ans all works good now.
Many thanks for you help, i have just do not to delete old file (sad to have to save old installler just for install the new).

Have deleted library file to trash. Computer now wont booy up

I have deleted the files in 2 of the library folders to trash. Now the computer will not boot up. I have tried repair in disk utility with no luck and have no backups. Is there a way to recover these files to their correct location?

No wonder it won't boot - those files control the system background jobs that are required to run essential system services! What were you thinking?!
A backup onto the same disk is not really a backup, you could easily break the disk when it it resizing the partitions - do not do this!
A reinstall is intended to resolve issues like this - when you upgrade the OS the same thing is used (all the apps are left alone, the user data is also left on the disk).
The other option you have is to try to use Terminal in recovery mode to copy back the files from the Trash folder. This is complex & can also mess up the OS if you make typo or don;t know what you are doing. I have tried to work out instructions for Terminal, but it seems too difficult to manage remotely sorry, I really think you have to risk a reinstall.
If you still want to take a backup first ask, but find an external disk first.

Why is my Macbook pro with OS lion prompting me my startup disk almost full when i have deleted many files, photos and videos? Even thrashing them doesn't help. There seems to be an automatic space usage in the background

I have deleted many unwanted files and apps and yet the available space keeps depleting every time i am using my Macbook Pro. I believe under the OS 10.7.4 one of the features is it backups or has backgrounding features which uses memory. Sometimes even when i hv 8GB space after using my Macbook Pro for say 2hrs surfing internet and using Pages which has a "Save Version" feature suddenly my 8GB goes down to 300+MB only and it starts prompting me "My Startup Disk is almost full" once it reaches 1GB space left. How can i get more space.... Please someone can help me? Do i need to re-format my hardisk??!! Any help out there is greatly appreciated.
My original HD is 320GB. And i don't hv too many Apps installed. I do have abt 50-70apps. I do have many photos and videos stored in iPhoto's Library though.

One thing I've noticed is that a shared tab pops up when I open the finder under "favorites" with a random connection. It's called hp68b... None of my friends that I live with have this and we all use the same internet. Two days ago when I would click it and click get info, it said it was a pc. When I checked it today it said it is a "sharepoint" and looks like a harddrive.
I took it too the store after i spilt water on it but when I got it back it ran perfectly fine. I don't know a lot about computer so if somebody could help me. It says I'm connected to it and I can't disconnect or delete it. I don't know if the guy at the computer store put something in my computer and is sharing all my files.

Deleting Original Files

I just purchased Aperture 3. One of the main reasons I purchased it was to use it to cull through the massive amounts of photos I seem to take at various events I do photography for. However, I have yet to find a way to use Aperture to remove the original photos I import to my hard drive. I would like to selected a photo and use a sinlge command to do away with it altogether - version, master & original file from the Finder. Is this possible? Am I missing something?

Select the image and do a 'File->Delete master and all versions'
If the masters are referenced you will need to select the checkbox to also delete referenced masters when you empty the Aperture trash. The checkbox will be in the empty trash confirmation window.
Of course you will have to empty the system trash when you are done.
There is no way to delete internal Aperture files (such as versions) from the finder.

Removing email attachement deletes original files ?

I have a strange "bug" when trying to drag back an attachement file from an email that i'm writing to it's original folder. The original file is deleted without any questions and no trace of the file is left anywhere;
Ex.: Start a new mail, drag a file from desktop to the mail, drag back the file from mail to desktop. File on the desktop desapears !?!? and file apears to stays in the email. But if you try to drag it to somewhere else or send the email, you realize that you lost the original and the attached file also.
Does someone know how to recover the file ? or why this is happening ?
PS.: I found that this occurs when the file comes from windows profile folder and his childrens %SystemDrive%\Documents and Settings\"Username"...
PS.: Tried to do a recovery on the hard drive with GetDATA Back NTFS without luck

It's probably because it's depending on the filehandle which you broke.
Honestly, I don't see this happening on any normal circumstances. In

Trying to delete original files on card after Log and Transfer in FC 7

Log and transfer is working great. But how do I delete the original files on my 32 gb class 6 card? Can't just select and hit delete. In fact theres a typo in the pop up box, "Warning, The selected media cannot deleted". They forgot the "be". Weird.

as you have seen already, you can't delete those files using the L&T menu; however you can delete those files either from within the camera's menu or accessing the card directly from the OSX.

Is there any way One can figure-out the 'Filename' of a 'Deleted' file from DIR?. From what I've seen, system displays the info (as in attached), but not the 'Original Filename' itself.

Yes, the files reside in the original project, what you pasted were pointers to the original files (think: Finder Aliases)
The chances of recovery grow slimmer every moment you use your Mac. If you have software that offers an Undelete function, you might be able to recover the original files. However as you use your Mac, and data is written t the hard drive, the odds increase that the files will be over written with nothing to recover.

I have 100 plus songs in my itunes library (downloaded from store and cd's) that have lost the original file on my computer. They are still playing on my ipod. Is there a way I can transfer the songs fromn the ipod back into the library to restore the files?

I have tried everything I have read on the Internet about sync issues and restore etc and not there isn't a single song on my iPad or iPod touch. All of the songs are listed in my iTunes but are all greyed out, some have the cloud symbol next to them but lots don't and some say waiting.

May have deleted HP files as desktop will not open.

Our HP printer began to pack up so we decided to buy a new Canon Printer which I installed on our ethernet desktop and also on my wife's wifi laptop. I then uninstalled our HP Photosmart C4180 printer from our desktop I used the uninstall within the HP folders such as solution centre but some folders for the printer/scanner remained so I used the control panel uninstall.
Since then the desktop switches on but does not start up. I fear that I may have deleted some HP files needed by my desktop. Havng said that I also removed the printer files from my wife's laptop in a similar way and that works ok.
How do I check if I have some key folders missing? Bear in mind that the desktop does not start up currently i.e screen message is no signal and the orange disk light on the desktop does not blink as it used to. Alternatively any other constructive ideas now to overcome the issue?

Are the fans working when you turn the computer on?
If you can boot into Safe Mode and select a system restore point prior to when the problems started. See this, if it says Windows 7 on the right, click the arrow down and select Vista:
