Your problem is that she used your icloud ID to connect to icloud and thus had all your data synced to her device. Contacts are not saved in a backup to icloud, since they are stored independently in the Contacts section of icloud. If someone deletes them, they are gone. If you had them on the PC would they be available in some backup you frequently make of the PC?

TS1702 adjusting the security and permissions settings for your device.

I Updated to the ios6, then tried to save a video to the camera roll. The app asked if I would allow it to have access to my photos, and I said "no" and now I can't save any videos made with that app to my camera roll. I contacted the support at vidrythum and they said I had to contact apple and ask how to adjust the security and permissions settings for your device. Any ideas??

I am trying to update ITunes from 10.4 to 10.5 I have tried from both the program, and from a download on Apple's website. Regardless, I get the following error messages: (1) Installation package for iTunes cannot be found. Try installing to find the installation package 'iTunes.msi' in a folder from which you can install iTunes. I can't find this folder. I have tried to completely unistall iTunes through the Control Panel, but it wouldn't let me: I tried going directly to the files themselves, but cannot uninstall. Any help would be greatly appreciated. System OS: Win XP SP 3.

Set the permissions for Everyone in the folder in which CCPackager created, to "Read/Write" enabled. This is strange since there is only an administrator account on the Mac (and that account already has read/write), but it seems to resolve the issue.

My 'Security and Privacy' settings won't open

Ever since installing OS X Mountain Lion, when I click on 'Security and Privacy' under 'Settings,' it just continues to say 'Loading Security & Privacy' but nothing loads. I cannot get into it at all (screen shot below)...
Does anyone have any ideas on what is going on?

I called Apple and they had me re-install Mountain Lion. As of now, the 'Security and Privacy' setting is working again, but I did check out the console like you advised. Here is what was there after I cleared the display and went back in again:

I have downloaded Firefox onto my computer and it is messed up with Sweetimstore. How do I get rid of it? Every time I open Firefox a Sweetimstore "thing" comes onto my screen. It is very annoying and I do not want it on my computer.

Best security and privacy settings for Yosemite

I have recently upgraded to Yosemite and started thinking about security and privacy. So I had a look around hoping to find an article or something telling me what I should do to various settings to make sure that everything is okay. I did find some information but bits of it were beyond my understanding and I did want to do anything in case I messed anything up. Like I saw about FileVault but then went I went to use it I was asked if I wanted to use iCloud with it or not, but I didn't know which option to go for so I left it. Obviously I have a password and Firewall turned on but just wondering if there was anything else I can do to protect everythin. I also read that Apple gets a lot of information from web searches and such. I really do t like the thought of thar. Can I do anything. I'm sorry if this seems really basic but I would appreciate any advice anyone can give or point me in the direction of.

Mac OS X Lion won't save my security and privacy settings.

I unlocked the padlock, then the very top setting option ("Require password *drop box* after sleep or screen saver begins.") I wanted to choose "15 minutes". However, when I did so, and then clicked the lock again so the padlock was locked, closed System Preferences, then opened it again and looked at my settings, the drop box was back at immediately again. I've tried several times in different ways to change the setting, and it always goes back to "immediately". It's a pain when I walk away from my comp for three minutes and then have to punch in my password every time. On Snow Leopard, I had it set to "15 minutes", and that worked wonderfully. Can someone help me please? This is getting really annoying! I'm thinking I should have stayed with Snow Leopard!

Ditto here. Same thing for any changes to the programs in the dock after a restart or log-off. Very frustrating.

Babylon search engin keeps taking over my home page.I have deleted it from my computer and it just took over Google again. How can I get rid of it?

Since I downloaded Mozilla Firefox on my new computer, Babylon search engine keeps taking over my home page. I have deleted it from my computer and have installed Google as my home page - It has just done ANOTHER hostile takeover and completely kicked Google off. Babylon doesn't even find the right things I search for. It is horrible - is it a virus and how do I get rid of it?

Each time I open an email the Bing ad covers the screen and although I've changed my Search preference I can't get rid of it. How???

This began happening, every time I opened my email, several months ago. I changed the Bing search preference to Google and it disappeared. It appeared again 2 days ago. I again replaced the Bing search preference with Google, but still the Bing ad covers my email every time I open it in Firefox. I would like to get rid of Bing permanently.

Hello iPad friends I need some help concerning connection to WiFi. My iPad mini won't pick up on any WiFi and I have tried resetting both the iPad and WiFi settings to no avail. Also, even inputting the name manually won't work. Help?!

So yeah basically my iPad won't pick up on WiFi networks and I am wondering if there is a remedy to this. Thanks :)

The easy things first. Tap wifi in settings. Is wifi turned on, can you see your wifi in choose a network, do you have airplane mode turned on, is it just your wifi router or all wifi signals, if you go to a public site can you see their network? Have you tried a reset.? If your still having problems, take your mini to the Apple Store and let them show you how. If they can't connect to their signal ask them for further suggestions

Security and privacy settings

My computer is requiring a password when waking from sleep. I know I changed this setting but not sure when, but I cannot change the setting; notice that I have unlocked the tab, but that 'Require password' isn't changeable. Any ideas?

This setting cannot be disabled if you are using your AppleID password as your user login password. Changed your user password for your Mac - use a separate password.

I can screen capture the event and send it to anyone, to see what is wrong. the capture says that the page expired and is no longer available and to resend it. however that happens immediately in time when trying to back up.
