I have downloaded firefox 4 twice and it still gives me firefox 3.
i just want to know if i need windows 7 or something better than windows xp to get it to work. i really like firefox but this makes me want to use internet explorer. :(

I am not sure what you want here - I opened Firefox and it had an Urgent symbol and message that my version of Firefox was not protected and that I should download new version - I downloaded the new version and then restarted my computer and I am still getting the same message every time I open Firefox
The update doesn't seem to have been successful. Your More system details list list shows a Firefox 3.5.19 version.
Download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox. -
I am trying to open a MPEG video clip using Quicktime and it wont let me, keeps saying a codec is required. So I click on tell me more, have downloaded Quicktime 7 on numerous occasions thinking this was the problem, and it still wont let me open in. Really confused! Can anyone help???

What is the file type that you are trying to open.
After downloading PSE 12 you need to install it to be abvle to use it.
Does it show in the list of installed programs?
If Yes then what error do you get when you try to launch the software.

Every time I download the latest version of 3.6,13, there is a message telling me my computer is no longer protected (my security tells me everythiing is okay) and to download the newest version. You already have the latest version of Firefox and don't need to updated it. The problem is that your Firefox version information has been locked at ''2.0.0.16'' by the EGAMES extension. There are no files like that in that folder (com.apple.safari). They all have long numbers with .jpeg or .png at the end. That's what I meant by I cannot find any files like those mentioned in all the helps I read today. BTW-it's still crashing - no particular pattern to it at all.
The only two things I have downloaded recently is a new version of Flash and a Mac-driven update to Office.
