I have downloaded firefox but it will not launch why?

I had Firefox and it crashed. It would never launch again. I then removed it from my laptop and restarted. I then downloaded it again. Same results. What is going on? Today I downloaded again and it launched but now when I open my computer again, it will not launch.

Could you try starting Firefox in its Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox. A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset).
Will Firefox start up?
Sometimes a strict "program control" firewall or malware will stop Firefox from running. You can investigate these possibilities further using the steps/tools in these articles:

We used to use Firefox..but for whatever reason it stopped opening. We uninstalled it and we found that the old version of Firefox would open but it would straight away update to the new version and then the problems would begin again and it would not open.

That suggests that another application has stashed old QuickTime componentry in your system files.
So just in case we'll go looking for older QuickTime componentry in the most common locations for it to be stashed.
First we'll need to change some view settings.
In your Start menu, open Computer.
In your Organise menu, select Folder Options.
In the View tab, make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is selected, and Hide extensions for known file types is unchecked.
Click OK.
Now in Computer, open your C:\ drive (or whichever drive you have your operating system installed on).
Open the "Windows" folder.
If you have a 32-bit version of Windows, open the "System32" folder.
If you have a 64-bit version of Windows, open the "SysWOW64" folder.
What files and folders can you see in there with QuickTime in the title? (In a standard installation of Quicktime you should be seeing precisely two files... QuickTime.qts and QuickTimeVR.qtx ... and no QuickTime folders whatsoever.)

But for starters, try deleting the preferences 3.0 folder at C;\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Audition\
Then start the app as administrator by right clicking the Au 3 exe file and choose Run as Administrator

What is your current OS version? (Go to Apple menu > about this Mac, to find out). Are you trying to install a disc that was not supplied with your machine, or indeed, any other disc?

Sounds like there might be an issue with an application that might be causing these issues. The reason I say that is, when the phone is in Safe Mode you are able to access the Settings screens with no issues. While in Safe Mode that does block all 3rd party applications from running on the phone. I would suggest on trying to back up the device and perform a factory reset: http://spr.ly/6-182Vuo (you would want to make sure to uncheck Automatic Restore in step 3). Once the reset is complete try to see if you can get into Settings. There's no 3.6.18, so there appears to be a glitch in the update checking. Or the message is not really from Firefox (malware site).

Downloaded Yosemite but it will not install on Macintosh HD as it says it is used for Time Machine Backups but it is not. TM backup is to an external 2TB HD. Downloaded OX x twice with the same result.

For some reason you have a folder called Backups.backupdb at the root level of the hard disk on which you want to install Yosemite.
Move it to the Trash.
