I have downloaded the app for google translator and it wont open ...says it is open so wont let me delete but isnt open ..does that make sense??

You might want to contact google support about that. They would probably be more help.

hello and thank you for your suggestion. I have tried it and, when trying to open a program which I previously was able to, still get the following message:

They should be in itunes on your computer. Just sync them to the ipod.

Im new to actually buying apps especially on my new macbook pro, the app i wanted i could not find in app store but i found it in itunes (weird?)so after paying and downloading i tried to start the app and nothing i try works... Does this mean its not a mac app and only works on iPhones and iPads? What do i do from here? feeling a bit annoyed. Any help would be greatly aprechiated

On the computer you should be able to go to the network properites. Go to the TCP part and unchec the line that says obtaind DNS automatically and check the one that says use the following. Add the 8.8.8.8 and Google other 8.8.4.4.

You might profit from a visit to a Minneapolis Apple store. With a brand new Mac, I think they will be most helpful - not just with transferring files, but with other advice as well. And I strongly recommend you invest in a back up drive. The Apple folk can help with that as well.

Get AppZapper, a free program that removes apps. Make sure everything has been removed by checking with Spotlight once the app has been zapped.

You're talking about the dock?
To check on that, go to System Preferences > Dock > indicate your preference.

I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.

It sounds like it is time to restore from the backups you made just before making the disk changes.
You can re-partition and restore your backups. If you didn't make backups first (you were warned that it might damage things and to make sure you had a good backup) then you will need to repartition everything and reinstall from scratch...
