I have downloaded InDesign CS6, I have a serial number from an electronic purchase b ut I am told there's no product record on this computer. It is new but how do I get a record?
Can someone figure this out?
I got curious: my invoice indeed shows upgrade, Windows, English, Download US$249.00. My original purchase CS3 standard design was on CD. I tried that serial number but I got no result from that either. Now what? I am totally frustrated. Why is this so hard for amateurs?

why can't i validate nor register my downloaded elements even tough i have a serial number from adobe store
I'm working on a 27" imac with os x 10.9.5
I bought elements 13 in the adobe online shop. Downloaded it and tried to install it. The moment i filled in the serial number (given by adobe) i got the message can not validate this number, try customer support.
I called but elements is not supported by phone they redirected me to the chat. I tried to times, but the chat is not available.
I tried to return my purchase, but for that you have to register and thats only possible when it is validated. So i bought a E 80,00 programm and can't use it.
Then i got to my account to see in my order history (some time ago i bought lightroom and elements 12). I saw my elements 13 order and when i clicked it i saw my serial number (witch is not working) but to my astonishment is saw a price of E 100,00. And the message that something is wrong with my order history and i should contact customer support.
On the internet i saw a lot of the same problems and i think dat adobe is not concerned at all. Just buy and thats that!!!!!

I have been using a Lightroom 5 including recent upgrades on my Mac Pro laptop for the past 1 year. This was purchased as an upgrade from Lightroom 4 for which I have a serial number. Today I purchased a new Macbook pro and loaded my Lightroom 5 however it is asking for my serial number which I have misplaced. I am unable to trace my serial number anywhere. I have even checked my adobe membership to locate my serial number but it does not seem to have any record which is strange as I have been using this software for over a year now and the previous versions since 2009. Could someone help me in my predicament.

I am trying to find at least the trial version so that I can enter the serial number that I have on the back of the case and activate the full version so I can get some work I need to get done finished. I've recieved a free Adobe CD Rom for Adobe Lightroom 5 after buying a new Samsung Camera,
as I do not have a CD Rom department in my laptop, I've downloaded the Adobe Lightroom online.
After downloading, I was trying to license the software by the given serial number at the CD Rom, however it doesn't work.
Please kindly assist.What exactly means "can't use" or "doesn't work"?

error was: earlier today, I upgraded to LR 5.6 on my laptop. Then I
upgraded to the same on my desktop, but became confused and installed it
TWICE.
Is this the reason that Adobe is asking me to license Lightroom and to come
up with a serial number? (I have my serial # from LR4, but it does not do.)
Should I try to deactivate LR 5 and then try again to upgrade to it?

I had 30 days trial before, then that is expired 9months ago. Recently I purchased Lightroom 5.
But it is requesting me original Serial Number. Unfortunately I could not find it.
What is it? Where I can find it?Contact sales support. You bought an upgrade when you should have gotten a full version.

ScottDelete the problem track from the iTunes library, allowing iTunes to move the track file to the Trash. Then download the track again from the iTunes Store via this procedure:

I'm afraid that Kappy's answer is rather complete on the subject. The Mac's wouldn't need the functionality of "Find My Mac", if there were alternate means available without it. Yes, there are alternatives to "Find My Mac", but all them reguire the user to setup the software for the device's ability to be tracked.
If there were another way to track a Mac without owner/user interaction, then the means would be considered a security flaw.
Even Find My Mac is not without issue. The unit's location can only be determined if the thief/possessor connnects the unit to the internet. Therefore, in addtion to being dependent on prior user setup, the thief himself must participate in a specific manner.
