I have dropped my ipad in the bathroom and now it's literally frozen

I was in the bathroom about to take a shower and I plugged up the blow dryer and then it falls off the counter, which is about waist high, it was playing music and now it's frozen, the music has stopped. I've tried the home + power button at the same time, and nothing worked. help;-;

That's a better sign than what you had. If you were able to turn it off and now you are see the charging symbol, let it charge for a while and then try to restart it. If it doesn restart with the power button, try the reboot again - the home and sleep buttons at the same time.

When you say that the orientation lock doesn't work, we have no way of knowing if that means that the screen is locked in one position only, or that it will not lock in one position only. So try something g very basi and reboot your iPad.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
In the camera app, you have to swipe up and down on the screen to move between photo, video and the square photo mode options, so are you even in the correct mode to take videos?

    Go to
     > System Preferences > Keyboard
Click on the 'Keyboard' tab and hit the 'modifier keys...' button. You can see and change the defaults there.
As I'm not sure if all the labels are the same in Lion, he's a screenshot from Snow Leopard. It should be similar enough:

Turn it off and put it in a bag of rice for 5-7 days.  You may get lucky.

Buy or borrow an external USB optical drive.
See the confirmation email or covering letter to obtain the serial number. If you have lost it, contact the supplier.

I dropped my phone in the toilet and now is not working.   What should I do?

Put in in a bag of dry rice for a few days and see if that drys it out. Don't be surprised if it doesn't. You may need to take it to an Apple Store. They will offer you a replacement at a reduced price
    Hope that helps

    Hey there johnnyb141,
It sounds like you are are connected to your cellular network but cannot get cellular data to work when trying to surf the internet with Safari. First I would check in the Settings to see if Cellular data is enabled, or if Safari is disabled in the Cellular settings:
For the following options, go to Settings > Cellular Data and turn the options on or off, or follow the onscreen instructions.
Turn Cellular Data on or off. If Cellular Data is off, all data services will use only Wi-Fi—including email, web browsing, push notifications, and other services. If Cellular Data is on, carrier charges may be incurred. For example, using certain features and services that transfer data, such as Messages, could result in charges to your data plan.

If it is turned on, and Safari is enabled, I would next try the troubleshooting in this article:

  • HT201250 I have moved TM folders to the Trash, and now I cant delete them or move them. What do I do?

Time Machine told me the back up disk was full. So I selected older folders (from 2011) and moved them to the Trash. Now every time I try to delete them, I get the error 8003. It wont allow me to move them back to TM. They disappear when I unmount the TM disk, only to reappear when its remounted.
I have tried using the option key, secure empty trash etc.  and the same error appears...
I realize I have done a bad thing - but I deleted files this way previously and didnt have a problem
    Any suggestions would be appreciated
    thanks

Okay. I have read a lot about this & still am a little unsure about what this solution actually does.
Like some others, I have simply added a folder (NOT A PARTITION) in my external HDD for the backups.
I noticed I was low on space one day & dragged a load of old backups to the trash.
Nothing in the time machine blurb inferred I should do it any other way & OS X is usually pretty intuitive.
Will this solution get rid of just the trashed files or will it destroy everything on the whole HDD?

  • I dropped my Ipod in the toilet and now it's not turning on..

Does anybody know if apple covers water damage on Ipods? I've tried looking it up and I can't find anything on it, I have a limited warranty that is going to ruin out in Jan. 2008 Someone please help??

Trying to power it on may have been the stupidest thing if it wasn't completely dry on the inside... which you're unlikely to know. You have to let it dry someplace warm and bright for a few days. Seriously, keep it away from dampness or darkness. Sit it on a night stand with a night light, for instance. When you're sure it's completely and thoroughly dry, charge it up and try it again and I'm pretty sure it'll be up and running. It might be a little trippy at first and you may have to reset it a couple times, but I don't think it'll be fried if it's totally dry. Good luck!

  • I had my ipad on the couch and now it has a crack in the glass. Neither my wife or i dropped it???, i had my ipad on the couch and now it has a crack in the glass. Neither my wife or i dropped it???

    Hi,
Ive just found my ipad (4th Gen) has a crack across the top area (approx 5m long around the front facing camera). Im assuming apple will not fix it as they would call it "accidental damage"; despite neither my wife or I dropping it, etc. Is it worth getting reparied - ie apart from for a cosmetic reason?
    Regards,
    Scott

If the crack doesn't go over the display or camera it's probably safer to leave it alone.  Try a screen protector to see if it makes the crack less noticeable.

  • I lost my iPad on the floor and now there is a dent where the sound buttons is placed, now the volume is constantly turning up.

Do anyone know of any tools i can use to fix this without using alot of money to send it for repair?

If you don't want to have it repaired by Apple, you can search the web or local classified for some other repair company.
Make sure you take a look at the warranty before setting up service because it can be voided if not repaired by Apple or an Apple authorized service provider.
