I have elements 8 and want to install it on a laptop with no dvd drive, how do i do this?

All i can find is elements 11 trials, i just want to use the one i have already bough, all other software companies seem to let me do this, is it possible?

Well, Tiger is OSX version 10.4 In addition there are sub-versions such as 10.4.2, 10.4.6, up to the latest sub version 10.4.11 (note, that is an eleven at the end). The information you report doesn't really fit into this pattern so we need to determine what exactly it is that you have installed.
Jumping ahead, if by "1.5" you really mean "10.5" that isn't Tiger at all but Leopard. To get that on your computer you will have to purchase a retail (discs black in color) installer set of Leopard from Apple online, from a retailer near you, or used. If you buy used make certain it is the black retail set of discs, not gray ones as those will not install on your computer.
One other thing added in edit. You say, "I have G4 Tiger and want to install PPC G5 1.5 GHz" A G4 is one kind of computer, a G5 is another. I think at this stage it would help greatly to determine what exactly it is you have since that will affect what kind of systems you can run. Go to the apple in the upper left hand corner of your screen. Select "About this Mac" then "more info" Copy and paste the information in a reply but remove the serial number. You'll get better performance if you use a Firewire hard drive (especially if you buy a 7200 RPM drive). Firewire's IO speed is significantly faster than USB 2. USB 2 has a theoretical max speed of 480 Mbps except that it has extremely high over-head. The fastest speeds you can typically get are about 300 Mbps. Firewire, on the other hand, has very little overhead. The fastest speeds you can get are very nearly 800 Mbps. You will typically be constrained by the maximum read/write speed of the drive, not the speed of the I/O on the Firewire bus. Now if you had one of those nice shiny new Macs with the Thunderbolt I/O and a Thunderbolt drive (Light Peak) ... I think they alter space and time so that your data arrives before you know you want it.
Also... unless you want to buy a solid state drive (very expensive), try to keep your hard drives from becoming much more than about 60% full if you want great performance. A nearly "full" hard drive is, on average, only about half as fast as the same hard drive when nearly empty.
USB 2 will work perfectly fine... just not as fast.
Also... it's much safer to move the entire Aperture library than to "relocate masters". Your images must be managed. You can Aperture manage them, or you can manage them. But someone has to manage them. If you "relocate" them so that they are no longer stored inside the Aperture library then you'll need to work out a system of how you decide to organize things and it's critically important that you don't start moving files around or deleting things without Aperture's knowledge. If you do, you'll break the links to your masters and start having problems with missing masters. If you have Aperture manage the library then you don't need to worry about any of that stuff.... it's safer.
Do make backups (use the Aperture Vault or use some other backup program, but make sure you back up your work if you care about it.) There are only two kinds of hard drives in the world: (1) those that have failed and (2) those that are going to fail. There are no exceptions to this rule. Hard drives are cheap. Backup software is built into Aperture and into your Mac.

How do I install OSXLeopard on my laptop - no working DVD drive?

I have an intel Mac with trashed DVD drive. I haven't used it in three years but it works with an external monitor. So I'm putting it to work alongside the replacmene laptop I received from the insurance money post auto accident. I want to upgrade the laptop using my Snow Leopard DVD and I'm not sure how to upgrade the current 10.5.8 to 10.6 using the Snow Leopard DVD I own. It's not a big deal if I lose all the user data on it but I'd love to keep it if possible. How do I accomplish this upgrade?

just boot the Snow Leopard DVD and install. It will upgrade an existing system automatically.
How to Install OS X Updates Successfully
A. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions:
Boot from your current OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. Then select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.0 for Tiger) and/or TechTool Pro (4.5.2 for Tiger) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
B. Make a Bootable Backup Using Restore Option of Disk Utility:
Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
Select the destination volume from the left side list.
Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
Check the box labeled Erase destination.
Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to the Source entry field.
Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Destination means the external backup drive. Source means the internal startup drive.
C. Important: Please read before installing:
If you have a FireWire hard drive connected, disconnect it before installing the update unless you will boot from this drive and install the update on it. Reconnect it and turn it back on after installation is complete and you've restarted.
You may experience unexpected results if you have installed third-party system software modifications, or if you have modified the operating system through other means. (This does not apply to normal application software installation.)
The installation process should not be interrupted. If a power outage or other interruption occurs during installation, use the standalone installer (see below) from Apple Downloads to update. While the installation is in progress do not use the computer.
D. To upgrade:
Purchase the Snow Leopard Retail DVD.
Boot From The OS X Installer Disc:
Insert OS X Installer Disc into the optical drive.
Restart the computer.
Immediately after the chime press and hold down the "C" key.
Release the key when the spinning gear below the dark gray Apple logo appears.
Wait for installer to finish loading.
E. If updating:
Download and install update(s)
Use Software Update, or
Download standalone updater(s).

In drop down option you need to select http://johntaylorphoto.businesscatalyst.com/ and then update the site , this is a paid site.
Please note the difference in both urls , one includes "johntaylorphotoca" and another includes "johntaylorphoto" , which is the site you need to select from drop down options.
If you dont see this site in list , then please post a screenshot of drop down options where site are listed.

Installing Elements on a laptop with no DVD drive

I have been given Elements 11 on DVD but the new laptop it is destined for has no DVD drive. How can I install it?

Note that the user in the topic linked to by Michel failed to get PSE11. He encountered an authorization error which is typical of NOT following the 'Very Important Instructions' step by step (authorization errors typically because of not following steps 0 and/or 2). They do work but you must read and follow the instructions properly - every step.
