I have elements 8, it will not open anymore and it generates a error message.

can anyone help me with this? I have been looking for a contact number or someone to call and that seems to be not available. The message says that Photoshop Elements has encountered a problem and needs to close, there is not a specific error code so I really dont know where I sould start. Any help would be appreciated.

You'll need to update to at least ACR 8.2 for the 70D to be recognized.  The normal way to update PSE12 to the latest CR is to use Help / Updates in the Editor which should update to ACR 8.5.
According to Adobe's website PSE12 shipped with ACR 8.1 and you say it says yours is reported as ACR 8.0.
Are you using PSE 11 and not 12?  PSE 11's maximum ACR version is 8.0.

  • Cs6 Bridge will not open files in Photoshop cs6, get error message pasted below

Windows cannot find C:/Program Files (x86)/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS3/Photoshop.exe
I installed Photoshop CS6 Upgrade (64bit and 32Bit) to my PC which ran CS5 Extended.  When I deleted CS5, Bridge
stopped opening files, whether I double clicked on the file or did Open with:  I get the same error message.

By uninstalling CS5 you have corrupted file associations.  THey want to open in CS5 now and it is not on machine.
You can either unistall CS6, do a script cleaner, and reinstall.
Or you can change an entry in the registry.  Here is instructions from a previous post.
I installed Photoshop CS6, then found CS5 was still there. I thought, hey, I don't need CS5 anymore, so I uninstalled CS5. then I found out that Photoshop was no longer available in 'Open with' when right-clicking an image...
    So I went into the Registry, HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\Photoshop.exe\shell\open\command, and changed the (Default) from "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5 (64 Bit)\Photoshop.exe" "%1" to "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit)\Photoshop.exe" "%1" (so changed CS5 to CS6) - and now I see 'Adobe Photoshop CS6' in my 'Open with' list when right-clicking an image...

  • PDFs will not open in Windows 7 (downloads receive error message)

I have spent so much time on this and it is so frustrating!  There are many other forums on the web with other frustrated customers/clients using different versions of Windows / AV and the same problem.  I am using Windows 7, downloaded Adobe Reader X.  The program installed fine.  When I download pdfs from email, and then open them in Adobe X, everything is "a-okay."  However, when I save a document from the internet and then download it from windows 7 (same procedure), I get the error message that the file is corrupted or damaged.  EVERY SINGLE FILE FROM SEVERAL DIFFERENT STATE OR LEGAL WEBSITES that, also, previously opened fine in prior version of Adobe Reader.  I have uninstalled, reinstalled, "repaired," uninstalled again with Norton & Window AV off and installed again ... still no luck.  I depend on this Reader EVERYDAY!!  I have seen numerous threads with this, BUT no solutions!!  Please help!

I just had to let you know that with your help, I have CS2 up and running.
The path to the "Run as Administrator" was a little different. There was no
CS2 icon, but I found what I needed by right-clicking the setup.exe icon.
Thank you SO much. This was a puzzle to many people who gave up thinking
that because the CS2 and Win7 are not officially compatible, that it
    couldn't work.

  • ITunes will not open... i get an error message

    Hi.
I am having problems opening the iTunes music store. I have Windows XP. When i click on the desktop iTunes icon, i get this error message.
"iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
When actually, it was never opened.
I have downloaded iTunes in the past and it has worked fine. Is this because of the overload of iPods today on Christmas? Is the music store a universal thing? Could it just be overloaded? i have no clue. I'm new to this iPod thing
    any help would be appreciated!

  • ITunes 10.5.2 will not open on Windows 7. No error message. Reinstall did nothing.

I have been browsing the forums and looking to solutions but I have found nothing that fixed the issue. I reinstalled. I did the command prompt -> windows reset thingy. I tried modifying some kind of daemon.exe file. I don't exactly remember. In any case, whenever I try to open iTunes, my cpu usage goes up a bit but nothing else happens. QuickTime works fine however. I'm not sure what else to do. Should I just wait for a new version of iTunes to be released and hope for the best?
Any help would be greatly apprecaited.

Your Security, net-monitoring or video accelerator may be interferring.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset and are running any kind of net monitoring software like Bsecure, Net Nanny, AVG Family Safety, Safe Eyes, Covenant Eyes, Norton Online Security etc... I would suggest that you try uninstalling said software and reinstalling iTunes 10.5 to see if that corrects the issue.
Refer to article TS4123. Follow the step to identify which software in your system is the culprit and uninstall it.

    Symptoms
You may notice the following symptoms after installing iTunes 10.5 for Windows:
    iTunes is slow to respond
    Windows is slow to respond
iTunes stops responding when backing up or syncing with an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
Some processes installed by iTunes are using up a lot of resources in the Windows Task Manager.
iTunes Store looks empty and white as shown below:

    Resolution
Look for modifications to Windows by:
Running MSINFO32 by choosing either Start > Run, or using the search box to search for
Once it is open, expand Components and then expand Network.
Click Protocol. The first value should look like this:
However, if you find a value that is more like this, it indicates that there's an LSP (Layered Service Provider) monitoring your computer:
"<LSP Info>" is variable and may specifically mention a software suite, or appear to be a meaningless acronym
Scroll through the list on the right and look for any LSPs that have been installed by third-party software. By default, the Windows OS will have 10 values:
    MSAFD Tcpip [TCP/IP]
    MSAFD Tcpip [UDP/IP]
    RSVP UDP Service Provider
    RSVP TCP Service Provider
    MSAFD NetBIOS [\Device\NetBT_Tcpip...
The value above repeated 5 times with additional variables at the end
Note:811259.Once you've identified the third-party LSPs, determine which software placed them there. Here is a partial list of LSPs you might run into and the software that may have placed it there:
    Product or Manufacturer
    LSP Name
    Bigfoot Networks
    BfLLR over [MSAFD Tcpip [TCP/IPv6]]
    ByteMobile, Inc.
    BMI over [MSAFD Tcpip [TCP/IP]]
    Covenant Eyes

    SpeedBit Video Accelerator
    SBLSP over [MSAFD Tcpip [TCP/IP]]
    VMWare
    VMCI sockets DGRAM
Once you've identified the third-party software that installed the LSP, you can remove that software. If the software is your security software, see iTunes: Troubleshooting security software issues for additional information.
    Note:locate vendor information
    Reset the WinSock key
If you are unable to identify the software that installed the LSP, you are unable to remove this software because it performs an important function for you, or you've removed this software and the issue persists, you may wish to reset the WinSock key.
To do so, please do the following in an administrator user:
    Windows Vista and Windows 7:
    Windows XP:Enter the following command:
    netsh winsock reset
Restart the computer and test the issue.
Note: If the issue returns, third-party software may be reinserting the LSP.

  • Safari will not open. I keep getting a error message.

This is my mother computers. So I can't really give any back story to what was happening before hand. The only solution I can suggest to her is to download the OS again from scratch. But I thought I'd give it a shot here. Basically ever time she tries to open Safari she get this message. I copied the text into a text file encase I need to send to a tech or something. I get this every time I try to open it. I have sent the report to apple. Not sure really how to remedy this myself. Thanks for the input anyone.

Click here and follow the instructions, or if there’s a type of adware not covered by them on the computer, these ones. If you're willing to use a tool to remove it(you don't need to, but may find it easier), you can instead run Adware Medic; this link is a direct download.

  • PhotoShop Elements 9 Edit will not open.

After opening 2 or 3 images in Elements 9 edit a dialog box will come up and say "Elements is already running but is not responding close the Elements process or restart your system". I do not see where I can close the running Elements process. I have used Elements 9 for several months and have never run into this problem. Can anyone suggest a solution to my problem?

Thank you for the response. My Elements 9 Editor problem seemed to fix  its
self. After restarting the computer the Editor would open for 2 or 3 images
then refuse to open again. After the fifth restarting of the computer the
Editor  has continued to work and now seems fine. Not sure what caused the
problem  in the first place. I will use the advise given below if the problem
    starts  again.

  • Need help, Photoshop Elements 11 will not open anymore.

I have Photoshop Elements 11 and will not open anymore, it hangs up on initial window with credits & version info. I tried everything I can think of, shutting down all the background programs, windows update, uninstalling & reinstalling the Photosphop. I am able to open the Adobe Photoshop Editor and I even updated the Adobe from Editor to see if that would help but no luck. Anyone have any ideas?

    You say:
it hangs up on initial window
    but then:
I am able to open the Adobe Photoshop Editor
Does this mean the problem is with the organizer? If so, hold down the shift key when starting it and try creating a new catalog in the catalog manager that should open. If that works, go back to file>manage catalogs and try repairing and optimizing your real catalog.
