It appears that the support advisor has been discontinued. Can anybody offer any further advice.
Many thanks

Without exact system info we can't tell you much, but as a start make sure you are actually running with administrative privileges and stuff isn't blocked by security tools.

What OS version? What's the exact error? Exactly when does the error occur? What previous versions? What is on the screen when the error displays? Does Photoshop get fully open?
Try opening Photoshop holding down Shift key immediately to turn off plug-ins. Lots of good suggestions here: Photoshop: Basic Troubleshooting steps to fix most issues

    Back up all data.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. To do that, unlock the preference pane using the credentials of an administrator, check the box marked Allow user to administer this computer, then reboot. You can demote the problem account back to standard status when this step has been completed.
Triple-click the following line to select it. Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    { sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR.. ; sudo chown -Rh $UID:staff ~ $_ ; sudo chmod -R u+rwX ~ $_ ; chmod -R -N ~ $_ ; } 2> /dev/null
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
The first step should give you usable permissions in your home folder. This step will restore special attributes set by OS X on some user folders to protect them from unintended deletion or renaming. You can skip this step if you don't consider that protection to be necessary.
Boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
    Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
In the Terminal window, type this:
    resetpassword
That's one word, all lower case, with no spaces. Then press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not  going to reset a password.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
     ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.

  • "Internet Explorer 6.0 has encountered a problem and must close" when trying to download of Adobe Re

I've used a long time the Adobe Reader 6.0, but lately it could not open in the browser many pdf files written with the new Acrobat applications. Then I tried to download Adobe Reader 8.1.3 from the Adobe site, understanding that Reader 9 still has some bugs, and I got really stuck...
It seems that the root of the problem lies in an Active X add-on for IE (gp.ocx , published by Adobe Systems Incorporated).
After releasing a lot of security limitations on the browser, I've finally got:
"IE has encountered a problem with an add-on and needs to close".
The following add-on was running when this problem occurred:
    File: gp.ocx
    Company Name: Adobe Systs. Inc.
    Description: Adobe DLM
I have verified that this ActX add-on appears as Enabled in the list of IE add-ons, but I could not update it (may be it is old or rough enough to stop IE 6.0 in a XPpro sp 2 environment. An intent to disable it caused another Installation failure. A trial to update it resulted in an announcement that it is not clear where to update it, if any.
Does anyone have any idea how to solve or at least skirt this problem?
I shall more than appreciate it very much !!!
    Thanks in advance!

    Thanks for the reply.
    The problem occurs during installation.
At the first stage, short download installs the GetPlus
DLM (Download Manager). I can see it installed in
Settings --> Control Panel --> Add or Remove Programs.
Then it leaves a shortcut with the Adobe icon in my Desktop
    reading "Resume Adobe Downloads".
    When I press it (shortcut to "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" AND ALSO TO "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\NOS\nosget_start_manager_15235.html")
the real download of the files should begin.
It just opens the downloading applet and before downloading anything
I am getting this "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem with the said add-on, and must close... Send notification/Do not send (you know)"

Applet(s) in this HTML page requires a version of java different from the one the browser is currently using. In order to run the applet(s) in this HTML page, a new browser session is required, press 'Yes' to start a new browser session.
    is getting displayed.
when i click either of the buttons, only a statement as : java plug in dected JRE collission  get's displayed.
If any one knows what this problem is all about, please share the same.
    thanks in advance...

    Hi Vipin,
It should be the problem with the JDK version you have currently got installed. Un Install the current version and install latest JDK and set your browser to use this JRE.
Also goto System Admin>System Config>Content Admin-->Form based publishing and ensure that the check box for "Allow HTML Output" is checked.
    Regards
    Ramesh.

  • Premier Elements 8 won't open the second time

After I installed Pre8 I went in, changed my preferences and created a 'dummy' project just to see how it worked. After I exited I tried to restart the program and it wouldn't open (either "New Project" or "Open Project"). The progress indicator spins and spins and then stops. Organizer opens right up. I tried all the steps in KB article 51427 with no results. I've installed the program 4 times at this point. I then used a system image I had created in Win7 to roll back my system to when it was freshly installed to avoid conflicts with other programs and installed Pre8 again with all the defaults. No difference. The only 'odd' thing is when I try step 5 in the troubleshooter - recreate the preferences folder - I get an error message saying that "the folder or a file in it is open in another program".  All the other steps in the troubleshooter don't help but I don't get an error message with them. At this point there are no other programs installed except for the OS itself. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    SKTGH87,
Very sorry but I have nothing to do with Adobe. I am an ordinary user of
Premiere Elements 8.0 as you are.
I tried all the suggested remedies and now my PrE is rather stable. But I
can't  say which of them helped.
    Good luck!

  • After closing out, FF will not restart, says it is already running forcing me to reboot. I have removed and re-installed FF and still get the same message when trying to open the internet using FF. How can this be fixed?

When I close out Firefox, and return later to use the internet, I click on Firefox and it gives me a message stating that Firefox is already running and needs to be closed before restarting or reboot my system. This occurs every time Firefox is closed and attempt to re-start it,,, not only at times,,,, EVERY time.
I have tried removing Firefox from my system and re-installing to fix this issue however,,, this did not work. After re-installing, I still get the same message when attempting to restart Firefox.
I have also tried Ctrl, Alt, delete to open the task manager and find there is no task to close.
I do not have any problems when using IE, I prefer to use Firefox as it is faster and crashes less than IE.
I am very frustrated at having to reboot my system each time I want to use the internet.
How can this problem be repaired?

  • Trying to open the download for CS6 but I keep getting a "problem has occurred" message and an error code.

I have downloaded both the 4.5G Adobe Creative Suite 6 package and the 1MB .exe unloader but when I try to open them I keep getting a "problem has occurred while extracting some files," message. That is followed by a "problem has occurred while extracting the archive" message. The error code received is "Exception EAccessViolation in module DesignWebPremium_CS6_LS16(1).exe at 0001B836" This is followed a series of addresses. The extractor will not work when running as administrator either. I do not know what to do.  I am using a Windows 8.1 PC, any help?

  • I receive a "close firefox" message when trying to open the browser. I have reviewed task manager and no firefox applications are open. I have even uninstalled Firefox and, after reinstall, the same message appears (I did retain preferences).

Program was working fine. I attempted to open a webinar link from a known source. There is now no way to re-open Firefox or access any on my programs. After the uninstall, I did retain preferences. If I have to erase everything, I really do not see any value in continueing to use the program

I am using Lightroom 5 and am hapy about it, but recently I hav encountered a problem when trying to edit an image in another program, i.e. Elements. I used the clone tool, saved the result and went back to Lightroom to open the image there. I did find a second copy, but this is identic with the one I already had in Lightroom, and I can see noe result of the clone process.

At the moment I would say it is uncertain whether Acrobat is completely ignoring the change, or whether the changes you are making aren't affecting the ink density. I have a suggestion for a test you could make to see which is the case.
When editing in Photoshop just add a box or mark on the image, for your tests.
    - If this box does not appear in Acrobat, you know Acrobat is not seeing the edit
    - If this box does appear in Acrobat, you know the problem is that your tool for changing ink densities is not taking effect.

  • Publish to mp4 problem in Premier Elements 12

The only way I see to publish to the best quality mp4 file is to choose to Publish+Share to Mobile Phones and Players and choose the Apple TV,iPad, iPhone4 - 1080p 29.97 presets.  That produces an mp4 file which plays perfectly in the Microsoft Windows Media Player that comes with Windows 7.  However when the video is finished, the Media Player produces the following message:
"windows media player encountered a problem while playing this file"
I can bring that mp4 file into a separate encoding program and re-encode it, and Windows Media Player does not produce that error at the end.  So it appears that Premier Elements is producing an MP4 file that Windows Media Player in Windows 7 is not completely happy with.
I should note that there is no problem using the Premier Elements produced mp4 file in the Media Player in Windows 8.  I would, however, like to sort this out for Windows 7.  Any ideas?

I am running Premier Elements 12 on my Windows 7 desktop.
The video I import into Premier Elements is a .MOV file crated with a Nikon D800 camera.  All I did to the video in Premier was to add a several seconds textual introduction and a several secolnds textual ending along with background music.  The .Mov file was 1920 x 1080 with 29 frames/sec.
I had chosen the Mobile Phones and Players route since in previously looking at the Computer route, I only noticed the Adobe Flash Video, which worked fine--but as you know many people now can't view Flash.  Now, however, you have, I believe, pointed me in the correct direction: Under Computer, choose MPEG.  I did that using the HD 720p 30 preset, and produced a video that did not have the error message at the end when viewed with Media Player.
So, now I have something that works fine, and can use that.  However, I like the file size produced by the Mobile version that produces the error (which is only produce by Windows Media Player and not in Chrome or Firefox if I place the file on the web and link to it.)

  • Any chance to have a working system with Premier Elements?

I've tried a good number of different video editors for HD video editing and they all lack certain features here and there that I find necessary for myself. I don't want anything out of this world, just a good, solid performance combined, ease of use, easy video clip import, good image quality from rendering and - that's it. Nothing special. No fireworks, do dancing girls...  Now, out of all the programs Premier Elements seemed to be very good, BUT it lacked the stability. Big time... Once I was working with that, the program just kept on crashing. Even if it would crash only once every 30 minutes, I could have taken that, but no... Had to be every second minute...
But, that was still with Windows Vista, and I blame Vista for much of the problems. I've upgraded - with blood, toil, sweat and tears, to Windows 7, which already has proven to be much, much more stable than Vista. So, the question is that do I have a chance to have a working solution with Premier Elements and Windows 7, running with multicore processor and 8 Gb of memory and soon with dedicated HD's for operating system and program files, video files and intermediate working storage? Will my dream ever come true?

    Welcome to the forum.
It is possible, as many here report great success running PrE 8 on many different systems. Probably the biggest consideration is the optimization of one's hardware and their OS. This ARTICLE will offer a few tips on the software end of things, and for Win7, be sure to look down the thread and see Black Viper's optimization page.
    Good luck,
