First, try the automated fixit from Microsoft on the link below.
Windows 7
Vista
Check if the drive is now working.
If it still doesn't work, click the Start Menu, open All Programs, open Accessories, right click the Command Prompt and select 'Run as Administrator'. In to the prompt type the following command and hit enter.
sfc /scannow ( note that there is a space between sfc and the / )
Let the process complete, then type exit and hit enter.
Next, click the Start Menu, open the Control Panel and click on Device Manager. Next click to open DVD/CD-ROM Drives. Right click the drive and select uninstall. Do not delete drivers if asked. When the device has uninstalled click on the 'Scan for Hardware Changes' icon ( usually just below Help on the toolbar ). Let windows reinstall the drive and see if it now works.

You have limited opportunity to attempt to create a backup of your created files.
That is what the SafeBoot or safemode appears to allow you -- at the moment.
Since the hard disk drive exhibits signs of failure or other major issues, plan
on a replacement in the near future. You may be able to get the computer to
start up in a regular full OS X (not safe mode) but consider its hours are limited.
An externally enclosed hard disk drive (with own power supply, not relying on
Mac ports to run it) is a good basic means of which to use a disk utility to make
a copy or a Clone of the current OS X. This may help retrieve an archive that
could be used along with a Time Machine backup, to restore your Mac once you
get a new hard drive installed inside.

In iTunes, go "Help > Run Diagnostics". Uncheck the boxes other than DVD/CD tests, as per the following screenshot:

When restoring an iPhoto library I got an "unexpected error" message and the operation could not be completed. Is my best choice to try again?

One of my external hard drives died. I had several iPhoto libraries in it. Fortunately, I used Time Machine to backup to a Time Capsule and I can see all the iPhoto library icons in Backups.
When restoring the first iPhoto library, after three hours, I got an "unexpected error" message and the operation could not be completed. Indeed, the restored library is smaller than the library in Backups. Is my best choice to try again and replace the restored library (which apparently must be missing some photos)? It would mean another 3 hours plus of restoration with fingers crossed...
Any suggestions? Thank you in advance!

I am always suspicious of using a different OS to the one that was used to run the backup.. ie if you used Snow L to backup then there is absolutely nothing wrong with using SL to restore.
Mount the TC sparsebundle and verify it using disk utility.

You might also like to load the widget in Time Machine so you get whatever the full error message is..
I cannot find any reference to the error code you are getting..
My recommendation would be to try it on a different computer.. restore the whole backup to an external drive large enough to accept the whole backup.

This is the error message I get saying the internet is not on, but clearly as I can send this message it has to be:

I am connected through Wi-fi if that makes a difference.

I have ADOBE X reader installed in my systems. When I wanted to open an online pdf form, Mozilla puts up a error message and the form does not open.

When I try to open a online pdf form, I get a error message to close the reader and try it again. Sometimes, the message does not come but what I see is just a BLACK screen in Mozilla.

How can I fix firefox, my problem does not match those in descriptions because I get no error messages and re-installing does not help!

Firefox will not start, no error messages at all unless I go to uninstall it and it says that it is already running. After rebooting my computer, and re-installing several times I still get nothing! Been going on for a month or so now. I am running XP pro. PLEASE HELP! I love firefox! The thought of using chrome, safari, IE, or opera is depressing! Please help! Updated software since computer said there were updates. Now I'm having trouble with iPod not showing up under devices. Have gone through all the steps under troubleshooting. Nothing helped. Had this same problem periodically in the past, as well. Itunes also says I have an app I reinstalled today due to it not working properly, and it won't synch with iPod. (earlier today, iPod was showing up and synching properly, but this app wasn't getting downloaded to the iPod. Just shows up in iTunes. HAve tried restarting computer, iTunes and iPod, but no luck.
