I have Firefox 13.0 and I am dead in the water...It freezes on every keystroke and every other function after 20 minutes.
The above question was asked June 29, 2012 and I was directed to a page that defined my problem. But I, nor a joint call with Comcast Tech Support @$100.00 per hour could not decipher your work around. I need better defined instructions to work through this issue with 13.0 if I am expected to remain a Firefox user.
Interestingly enough, Comcast 6 years ago recommended Firefox and now they can't make sense of your "workaround" for a product that should be in beta test and not released to the public. I have spent several hundred dollars with Comcast over problems that were Firefox's. I am not happy...

I asked whether you are using an intranet in your business, with multiple connected computers, if so are you having problems with most of the computers ?
One thought I had was that as a business there would be a possibility you may be interested in Firefox ESR, but that would probably only be suitable if your business is large enough to have an IT department.
Another thought seeing that system information aside mentions XP 2005 is that Firefox 13 is only compatible with XP SP2 and above, so you should be all-right just, (but if you have older machines with XP not updated Firefox 13 will not work on them )
Did you try the to suggestions above, and also look at the article about Firefox hanging, did any of that help ?
If you had posted using Firefox instead of Chrome you would have been prompted to paste in the troubleshooting information from Firefox. '''IF''' you are still having problems that information may still be useful, and it will at least list some of the plugins that you may have installed. You can obtain it from Firefox and paste it into a reply using Chrome if that is easier for you. Presumably Chrome is working ok with no problems using the same machine and the same websites as were problematic on Firefox.
Use Firefox's menu Help -> Troubleshooting -> [Copy All to Clipboard] then paste it into a reply. When doing so you may wish to edit out the printer information it will make it shorter.

Sorry, I am not familiar with how that extension stores its settings or data, but most extensions needed to be edited or code added to make use of Firefox' ability to Sync extensions and their preferences and data.
You need to contact the developer of that extension and suggest that feature be added. Mozilla builds the API and framework for syncing of extensions, it is up to each extension developer to make use of what Mozilla provided. -

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Enter the name of the crashed application or process in the Filter text field. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
Step 2
In the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports (not "Diagnostic and Usage Messages") for crash reports related to the crashed process. The report name starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot. I know the report is long. Please post all of it anyway.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful. -
I am having issues related to storage and I believe this is causing my computer to slow down. "Other" files part is the major occupier(180 GB). I have done Omni disk and multiple other cleaning(iTunes-device, restart, etc), yet have not been able to empty any more space, nor to speed up my computer? Any suggestions? Both my iPod and my MacBookPro connect with my home Wi-Fi but my iPad will not even after entering the passcode. I have tried Full shutdown and tried other Wi-Fi's for which I had the correct passcode. My iPad would not connect. Any suggestions?
Hi! I am having the same problem. What's odd is that a few days ago- the ipad was connecting to the network fine. No changes made. Other devices can connect to this network. I have also been able to connect my ipad to other networks.
I have reset all network settings, reset my ipad, reset the router, hard stop reboot, turn on/off wifi connection. what's interesting is that when i click the arrow next to the network i am trying to log onto- the ip address, router, and dns numbers come up automatically and the router number does not fill in (also- this process takes a long time- at least 5 minutes).
any thoughts? -
Every other function works perfectly, and my Internet/router are working at top speed. I can watch HD Netflix and YouTube but nothing via my iTunes library on my MacBook or iPad. All software is updated. The AppleTV will recognize that Air Play is trying to do it's thing, but with music files it sounds like they're skipping and video files just load endlessly.
I'm searching for an answer to almost the same exact problem, using almost the same exact hardware and software. Has an answer been found?
The files that I'm trying to burn come from eMusic, and they are formatted mp3. Recently, (after the iTunes update to 9.2.3?,) they would not drag and drop from iTunes into Toast. From several different discussions I've tried working around this by dragging to the desktop first then dragging and dropping to Toast, going to Toast from a programmer's homemade help window, " iToons," and today, after talking with Apple support, going directly to Toast from my eMusic folder. Alas, all recordings do not perform like they use to. Sometimes they play and sometimes not. There is one I managed, that is listenable, but sometimes I have to put it in my car stereo over and over again as it gets ejected with an error code, sometimes, finally it takes it... Some of the recordings on other disks I've burned are not clean - they have white-noise sounds creeping in... I use to have none of these problems. One time as I was listening to a CD that managed to play, and it just stopped playing... Is there an answer out there to get back to how it use to be? Thanks for you help. -

I have had the same problem with my daughter's IPOD nano. Spoke with several technicians to try to fix the problem to be told it was a battery problem and to send it in it was covered under warranty. Was told that it was a problem with many of the nanos. I sent it in to have it returned with 1 week stating that it had "liquid spill or submersion damage indicated by the pink/red color of liquid submersion indicator located inside headphone jack." It has not had liquid or submersion damage and I can't prove otherwise. It works only if it is attached to computer. Will not turn on unless attached to computer. Maybe I am wrong but it it has damaged by water would it still work plugged into computer. Now I am out $200.00. This frustrates my because my ipod shuffle quit working 2 months after I got it. Thats why I bought the nano thinking it was better quality.

Anyone else have problems after QT 7.3 update? My FCE is dead in the water
Since updating my QT to 7.3 my FCE will no longer export using QT conversion, nor will it allow clips to be installed into the time line. An "insufficient content for edit" comes up whether I try to install between other clips already in place or when I try to install a clip at the end. My FCE is, once again, dead in the water after a QT update.
I've looked for a QT 7.3 uninstaller but to no avail.Here's what happened.
After doing everything by the book, nothing worked-except that unsufficient edit warning-so I shut down for a few minutes and figured I'd try a few things.
After doing a cold reboot I opened the existing file with 7 hours of clips. It had an opening to it which had been shortened. I tried to insert a clip, and insufficient edit popped up again. I took the clip and tried to drag it to the timeline, nothing. I went to the absolute end of the timeline, tried dropping the clip onto a clean video/audio track and it appeared. That was a start. I took the clip and moved it to the tracks with existing video and audio (V1, A1,2) and it moved toward the existing clips with no problem.
I deleted the clip from the timeline and tried to install the clip through the canvas and it took. Don't ask me how or why, but for some reason it would not allow clips onto the timeline until it was 'retrained' for lack of a better term. It is now taking clips as it did before the troubles.
I'm wondering if there was some type of 'ghost' clip which just wouldn't go away until it was overwritten manually-although overwrite through the canvas wouldn't work before. Perhaps the problem and the updates were coincidental but experience would say no. I would guess I tripped something which may be difficult to reproduce, but it's returned as it was. Thanks for reminding me to do the maintenance, it had to help in the overall. But I'll remained thrilled that it works but baffled why it didn't. -

I have recently upgraded as required on apple tv - now the picture keeps freezing - Before the upgrade signal was excellent.
Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
Reset the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings)
Restore the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Restore) -
I have Firefox for U3 on my Verbatim stick to run on whatever computer I happen to be using. Lately every time I try to open F'fox a window comes up saying "Firefox is installing your updates and will start in a few moments." The status bar indicates the update is progressing, 'though a bit slowly, then suddenly it's done and the window disappears, only to be followed by another window coming up which says "The update could not be installed. Please make sure there are no other copies of Firefox running on you computer and then re-start Firefox to try again."
If I press the 'OK' button OR press the Close button, the window disappears, but then F'fox starts up all by itself anyway.
How can I stop this updating problem happening every time and on every computer I use.Try to disable hardware acceleration.
*Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.
Try to toggle some Boolean gfx.font_rendering prefs on the about:config page to disable some features.
Filter: gfx
Some to try:
* set gfx.direct2d.disabled to true to disable Direct2D
* set gfx.font_rendering.directwrite.use_gdi_table_loading to false.
To open the <i>about:config</i> page, type <b>about:config</b> in the location (address) bar and press the "<i>Enter</i>" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.<br />
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.<br />
*Use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a preference more easily.
*Preferences that have been modified show as bold (user set).
*Preferences can be reset to the default or changed via the right-click context menu. -
I currently have QuickTime Plug-In 7.6.3 and been asked to update the latest version of QuickTime from the Apple Website. I tried to manually load QuickTime Plug-In 7.6.6 to Firefox and it wouldn't let me do this. A .window came up on my MAC and told me that I had QuickTime X on my hard drive. I currently have a MacBook Pro and it has the Snow Leopard Operating System
If you're running the latest version of Snow Leopard (10.6.4 as of today), you are fine. This is a FF bug.
To be certain, double-click on your hard drive icon and go to the following folder: /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Do a "Get Info" on the "Quicktime Plugin" and see what version is stated. Most likely, it's version 7.6.6, in which case you have the latest version.
I spent the past 10 mins trying to figure out how to report this, but I gave up. Hopefully, other people having this problem find this discussion and don't waste their time trying to fix something that isn't broken.
Edit: OK, just found Bugzilla in the "Community" section for reporting bugs. Makes no sense to me that there isn't a link in the "Support" section for this, but that's just me, I guess.
