Hi, I was extra busy today and then my email went to the next page, I think and then missed your post. Ok, so we have these add ons in FF. Well as you know the 3.6.9 just came out and is new, but I'm sure you were having issues before that, right?
Since Adobe has the Shockwave Player and the Flash Player, which are very different programs and I know they are confusing, but we need to keep the terms separate or we'll get them mixed up:-)
The Flash Player has the Shockwave Flash Object in the IE add ons and is vs 10.1.82.76 and must be Enabled.
In the Firefox browser it has the Shockwave Flash vs 10.1.82.76 plugin and it must be Enabled.
The Shockwave Player has the Shockwave ActiveX Control in the IE add ons and the latest version is 11.5.8.612 and it must be Enabled. I'm sure the Firefox browser has the plugin and it would be vs 11.5.8.612(latest version) and it must be Enabled.
These add ons are both in manage add ons under "Show" in "All Add Ons" for IE. For Firefox they would be in the plugins.
Since we are dealing with Flash Player, and for this discussion we need not be concerned about Shockwave Player, nor Shockwave Director.
Right now I need to know what operating system you use, is it a 64bit and what version of IE you have.
Go to this test site and test with each browser and let me know if you can see the animation and what version is listed .

Please understand I can't troubleshoot the PC with IE & FF and the HTC at the same time:-) Since you said IE is working, we'll see about FF.

How much free space on the startup disk?

HAVE NEW 13.3 MAC AIR AND when using it to open sites in safari I have no issue until I go to a link page that is a pdf file or I am trying to save the screen info as a pdf. I only get a black screen with no data, cannot find solution in help menu

If you delete all the Adobe Reader stuff it will probably fix this. For almost everything, the Apple pdf handling works better.

So far, I have downloaded firefox 4.0 TWICE...does that mean I have firefox 8.0? AND WHYDOES IT KEEP ASKING ME TO DOWNLOAD FIREFOX 4?

DETAILS? OK OJ, here's the details. Firefox has crashed a b'zillion times (I'm an artist, Jim, not a mathematician!) so when they said download 4.0, I wasn't sure about it. But I did it.
And, when I turned my attention to what it had given me, I found that it had absconded with ALL of my internet passwords that weren't supporting my specific name. Except that confounded BonemanHA which is what Google used to screw up my account at youtube. (thanx, again, googz! I know you're watching all of this) but, that's besides the point.
Then it crashed again.
Froze and crashed.
I'm starting to think the firefox is nuzzling the arctic poles.
I swear on a stack of bibles...and lightning comes down and kicks my ass.
I calm down, the next day I pretend nothing has happened, go about re-establishing my passwords (is this too long? Will someone come out of he electronic closet in my computer to tell me if it is? I HATE writing a bunch of words only to look up and see it stoped at Dear so'n'so,)
Anyway, now it asks me if I want to download 4.0....
I should mention now that I LOVE to bring laughter to folks. Times are too hard on paople as it is, and a small mission of mine is to bring a smile, however small to people that i can. My smiley face is a lil hat guy with a big smile:

I updated my MacBook Pro and now NO video will play. I get a black screen with "Plug in's Blocked" in gray on the display screen. Any suggestions?

Who replaced your speaker? If you have had the device worked on by a 3rd party repair shop, then you will need to go back there to see about help. If you are willing, you can try this http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1631, but as far as out of warranty work, since the phone has been opened, Apple won't touch it.

After updating to Yosemite some of my photos will open and then Ill get a black screen with an apostrophe. How can I fix this?

After updating my OS to Yosemite 10.10.1 some of my photos will not display. All of the previews will be there but when I click to open them they open up larger for a second and then the screen goes black and I get a grey apostrophe sign. I updated iPhoto to 9.6 (910.29) and also repaired my permissions. The problem still exists. Can anyone help me? I also have issues with iTunes but that's another story.

According to the link I provided it could still have its logging service running. Did you read the info in the link I provided? You can check it by launching Activity Monitor and under CPU search for cleanup.
Since the photos are in the library I don't see the need at this time to reinstall iPhoto. Maybe later. Try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete the contents the following folder: User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto
3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: For Mavericks and Yosemite, go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:
where you can check the Show Library Folder checkbox.

TS3623 Just updated my Apple TV with 5.2 but I can't access any movies or shows since the update. When I click on either category I get a black screen with a spinning circle for 5 secs and then straight back to where I was. I restored settings and restart

Welcome to the Apple Community.
First you should try logging out of your iTunes Store account (settings > iTunes Store > accounts) and then back in again.
If that doesn't help, try resetting the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings). You should also try restarting your router.
If both of the above don't help, you should try a restore (Settings > General > Reset > Restore).

I recently went to look at pictures in iphoto and once I click on them I get a black screen with an exclamation point?

It was fine yesterday? I can see the photos when I scroll over the "event" in iphoto but when I open it and click on a picture, It gives me a big exclamation point? Only on recent photos?

The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

When I download a PDF file using Adobe I get a black screen when attempting to print and if I save the file I get a corrupted response when opening it.

This does not always happen, for example if I get a PDF file by email, it appears to be primarilly when I download from the internet.
I use Adobe Reader X1. Can you assist please. Thanks

When I click on almost any picture, in any album, to enlarge it, the pic starts to enlarge and then all I get is a black screen with a large exclamation point in the center. What have I done to my iPhoto program, and how do I fix it?

Recently, whenever I click on almost any of my pictures, in any album, in order to enlarge that photo, it starts to enlarge but then,
very quickly I get a black screen with a large white exclamation mark in the middle. And no full sized photo. Boo!

I'm sorry. Too old to understand this stuff. I'm sure this seems real stupid to you. But I have no idea how one
would "right click on the Original iPhoto Library" (I know, I know, 'as stated").
Do I right click on the symbol in the dock?? Or open it first and then, . . I can't find a way to right click on the word iPhoto in the top bar.
Or should I open the program you had me download. There I can find something called "original iPhoto library".
When I "right click" on that I get some options. None of them are "original folders". There's "reveal library in finder", and "dupilicate library and "sort libraries". I have no idea if any of these are what you want, or if any of these might change something.
When I clicked on "reveal library in finder" earlier on it showed me the copy of the photo library that I made a while ago, sitting right where I know it is on my desktop. And if I click on that symbol it shows me all the pictures again. Just like in my regular iPhoto files - all the thumbs are there, but most can't be opened to full sized.
Are we making progress here? I'm sure this is frustrating to you. This is just pictures of family. Even the thumbs are nice to look at. But this is nothing critical - like work related or anything.

Why do I get a black screen telling me to wait for 40 seconds and then to 'skip ad'?

I installed a Firefox update and since then, when I try to connect to a website, I almost always get a black screen telling me to wait for 40 seconds and then to 'skip ad'. This is very irritating and a waste of time. There are no ads to skip. Why is this happening and how can I stop it?

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
