I have green artifacts with DSLR Footage. What is causing this?
I'm getting weird green flickers in my renders whenever I use any footage taken on DSLR. It happens about once every 10 seconds or so any RUINS all my renders. I've tried rendering to a host of different codecs and file types. I even replaced my video card and re-installed my OS.
Running
Windows 7 Ult x64
Nvidia GTX 660Ti
16 GB RAM
Intel 2600K
All hardware has been tested, and works with every other file format.
I have the problem too in AVC and MPEG2-Files. Outside AE the Clip is decoded correct but inside there are random green artefacts. It seams the decoder do it wrong. Cleaning mediacache doesn't work. After a clean the artefacts are simply on another position.
My Hardware: Q9650, GTX 260, 16GB RAM
Windows7 Ultimate 64

if not then it's more than likely to be the common fault of the invertor board found in the display housing.
Not a very nice job to replace and advisable to get Apple to carry out the repair for you.
But let hope it's not that.

After installing Snow Leopard on MacPro with 23" HD monitor I have noticed an anomaly when scrolling up or down, a horizontal ripple appears briefly, I have tested other browsers and there is no problem, only in FF 8. What is causing this?

When Leopard came out, machines were shipping with Tiger for 3-5 months after it's release. So the fact that you bought a machine with Leopard still installed is not uncommon, especially considering we're not even a month into release. Matter of fact, I'd be surprised to see a lot of machines (unless CTO) that are coming with Snow Leopard.
The battery issue is not specific to Snow Leopard or the MacBook Air. I've deployed SL to about 15-20 MacBook Airs and all of them have been perfectly fine (batteries). -
Just bought a 3TB Time Capsule for a small office. Will have 4 users with MacBooks. What would ne the best setup for time machine individual backups and internet sharing in a secure way?
Set up each Mac for Time Machine backups in the normal way. Time Machine will keep each backup separate on the Time Capsule, so users will only be able to see the backups of their own Mac.
Yes....there are convoluted workarounds that might allow one user to see the backups of another.....IF...they know the administrator password of the "other" Mac.
As far as Internet sharing, all users will have access to the Internet if they have a wired or wireless connection. If a Mac connects using wireless, it is possible to limit the time that they are allowed to connect to the network.
For example, you might limit the ability to connect to the wireless from say each Weekday from 8 AM to 6 PM.
With a wired Ethernet connection, you cannot limit access times to the Internet. -
I do have an iphone4s with me and whats happening now is that it is stuck in the "itunes logo". What i did is that i try restoring the phone with itunes but it didnt go through. The process was not successful. An error appeared and it stops the restore. PLEASE HELP

I have two graphics workers on osx 8. They are both complaining that their files are changing label colors on it own. Any idea what could cause this?

For some reason the Apple ID window in iTunes and App Store now seems to suddenly have a character number constraint which prevents me using my 29 character Apple ID. As a result I am unable to enter the final few characters of my Apple ID which I have had for many years. Does anyone know what has caused this?

I have an email account causes the machine to hang up after being in use for a day. It only occurs on my Macbook Pro and only one particular account. The problem account works fine on my iMac and Windows Machines. I have been to the local Genius bar and through trial and error we have determined that Mail is working ok but somehow the account is causing the problem. I have used this account for years. Any ideas what is causing this?
No idea why, but one thing you may try if you have the time, is create a new user, and set up the problem mail account in the new user space. See if it causes your MBP to hang as well. That will tell you if it is something wrong with your main User, or something wrong with MBP.
Assuming this works, I'd nuke the problem account in your main user space, re-start, and reinititate the account and see if that helps.
Depening on how many email accounts you have setup, it may be necessary to nuke the whole Mail folder in your User/Library.... Hard way to get it to work, but just my idea. -
I was writing a very important document; I saved it and I closed pages, now when I try to open it, I have a message with "it's impossible to open this document". How can i fix it?
When you have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac:
Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.01 can not open Pages 5.1 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5.1 files can not be opened in Pages 5.
Anything that is saved to iCloud is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has removed over 95 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

Archive/trash Pages 5, after exporting all Pages 5 files to Pages '09 or Word .docx, and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work.

I send out emails with proper grammar. People would reply returning my email and I would notice the grammar has changed and doesn't make sense. What's causing this problem?
Have you actually compared what you sent (in your Sent Mail Folder) with what is in the reply?
Note that Auto Correction can often change what you think that you are typing.
Are you sure that the return message has your original message intact and not edited by the recipient?
Bottom line: if the recipient does a simple reply to your message with the original message attached the system is not going to edit your message. -
I just purchased the I 4S and at least once a day, it will say Invalid Sim, what would cause this and how do I fix it?
Then, if there's any data on the drive that you want to keep, you have to back up before you do anything else -- assuming it's still possible.
Basically you have three options:
1. Install a copy of the Mac OS on an external hard drive, boot from it, and copy the data from the internal drive.
2. Start the problem Mac in FireWire target mode (command-T at startup) and connect it to a working Mac with a FireWire cable. The internal drive will mount as a FireWire device.
3. Remove the internal drive and mount in an external enclosure on another Mac.
Once you've backed up, follow the sequence in the support article linked below. The article is somewhat outdated. Where it refers to booting from an installation disc, you should boot from your recovery partition (if running Lion) by holding down the key combination command-R at the chime.
