Try resetting your device (no data will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Silver Apple appears (up to 30 seconds)
Once the Home screen redisplays, tap on the Contacts in your phone app again to see if your contacts are now showing.
If that doesn't work, then you need to let us know if you are backing up your data to iCloud or to a computer running iTunes. We will then be able to provide you with some other troubleshooting steps.

Thank you! Thank You! Thank You!!! I have been arguing with Comcast for 6 months on this. They told me to uninstall and reinstall Firefox. Then I found this website and there was my solution. It worked. It was annoying that they told me to use internet explorer. The worst part is I pay them monthly. Well, as soon as my contract is up, I am done with Comcast. If it's a POP account and you set it up in Mail with the option to delete read messages from the server, then you can indeed no longer read it on the server. You may be able to restore the messages to the server if you also have IMAP access. Ask your mail service provider whether it's possible.

Drag the entire group into the To: field of a new message. The group is in your Address Book. You've used a name for it, like My Group. You can simply start typing "My Group" in that To: field and it should appear in a context menu.

Ask the store for a local Macintosh Users Group / Club... maybe someone there can help you. You might check pawn shops in the area for a machine that has a full set of disks. Apple will sell/mail you a set. I don't know of anyplace to legitimately download them... For what its worth any commercial (e.g. full retail version) install of OS X on disk should work for your machine.

It sounds like she deleted them all from your icloud account. If you have an iTunes backup, try this to possible recover your deleted contacts. http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4108
If that doesn't work, you might be stuck as Apple doesn't usually have a backup plan for intentional user deletion. You can try to call Apple though and see if there is anything else they can do to try and recover that deleted info for you.

If you use Google for most of your data (calendar, email, contacts), you can sync both devices. My work phone is an Android phone but, because I use Gmail and Google calendar and have my Gmail set up as an Exchange account on my iOS devices, everything stays in sync.
