I have iBooks on my phone. Can I read those books on my MacBook Pro too?

I have diwnloaded several books on my iPhone 4s. I would like to read them on my MacBook Pro. Is there a way I can do that through iCloud or something?

That is because they share the same processor ( ARM in iOS vs Intel in Mac's ) , Operating System and support these mini apps.
Mac OS X can not execute iOS apps and vice versa an iDevice can not execute Macintosh apps.

The Documents created with either pages version, no matter if iOS or OSX can be cross-exchanged , synced and edited ( else it would'nt make sense ).

Nevermind - I answered my own question, which is I CAN"T READ ANY BOOKS I purchased in iBooks on my MacBook Pro. If I want to read on my mac I have to use Kindle or Nook. Which means any book I've already purchased through iBooks has to be read on my iPad. Kind of a drag because there are times when it's more convenient for me to read while I'm sitting with my Mac.

Some of us use iLife - an Apple product that almost seamlessly translates Microsoft programs (for example Word to Pages) back and forth. You can always export in a Microsoft format...

Can't access My Book Live from Macbook pro

Hi I have a Macbook Pro running Yosemite. It sees the mybook live in finder but will not connect. I also can not connect to the dashboard. I have tried downloading the set up software and again it sees the drive but will not connect??? I can access the drive and dashboard from 2 ipads, my phone, an imac and a windows laptop all on the same network??? If I sign in on My Cloud it can see the drive but once again when you try and connect it fails. I have even tried mounting it and unmounting it from terminal and it says successful but cant actually get to anything? All firmware is updated Help! Thanks Lester

Thanks for the reply. Yes I have tried that and it comes back can't connect. That's why I tried the set up software which does see the drive but can't access it. All other devices on the network don't have an issue. The really strange thing is when I am in my office on the garden we use a power line adaptor connected to our hub which creates a new network extended of our normal one.. When the MacBook is on that network it connects to the my book no problem. Back in the house it can see the drive (even shows in finder) but can't access it!
I even looked up how to check the drive using terminal on the Mac and it shows up fine. I unmounted and remounted it using terminal but it has made no difference.

No, purchased iBooks can only be read on the iPad. Of course, purchased Kindle books can be read in both places.

iCloud doesn't have anything to do with texts or phone calls. Those are both tied to your phone number and SIM, not to an iCloud account.

If you didn't already do so, authorize your computer for the new ID by opening iTunes and going to Store>Authorize This Computer. Then sync your phone with iTunes.

I have also tried changing the contact emails(you can contact me by) in Facetime(diff email for IPAD and Macbook Pro). Facetime tried the call, I see the accept buttom appear and it goes away as the call never connects? Any ideas??

I'm in the same position, the store said they didn't know of any new release, so i bought my macbook pro to find out about mountain lion. I really hope that i'm not going to pay for the upgrade. New to apple, also last month bought my Ipad 3, really thought that Airplay would have been on my book pro, nope, waste of time.........need that update to use it. Back i the box then, get the windows 7 ultimate pro back out until then.
