I have installed CS2 but can't update to CS5

I have installed CS2 on my new computer as noted with a different serial number and want to use my serial number for CS5 update but cannot get the update program to work for me.

As both the Creative Suite versions are quite outdated ,and Adobe does not provide any support for any of the Creative Suite versions.
I would recommend you to subscribe for Creative Cloud. An yearly commitment will charge you very nominal.

I installed Adobe Creative Suite Production Premium (CS5) on a new PC (Windows 8.1). Installation was successful. I uninstalled it on old PC and de-activated it. My problem is that I can't Update. Without Updates, I can't read newer Canon photos (so I can't use Bridge or PhotoShop). In doing the install the first time, I put in an incorrect Adobe product number (I think from Elements 8.0, which I purchased years ago). I have re-installed twice using the correct serial number, but same result: I can't Update the programs and get a "Serial Number is not for qualifying product" error.. Please help. Dave

hello and thanking you in advance for taking the time to answer my question to the following...
I have just updated to the beautiful Maverick and the installation went well. But the Maverick system seem to be only updating when I sign in as a guest on my own computer. And on the Adim side everything looks the same eg. safari, cal etc.. can you help.... DO i have to back up everyting and wipe my mechine then re-install the Maverick on the my pro as a new computer??

Have downloaded Yosemite but can't update ...

I have downloaded Yosemite and am running the installer but it won't let me install onto the hard drive of my iMac, saying that the hard drive is used for Time Machine backups.
The internal hard drive is not connected to Time Machine (I do use time machine but this is backed up to an external hard drive).
Can anybody help?

Please go into your "Macintosh HD" and see if you have a file named "Backups.backupdb". If yes > delete it from the location and try to install OS X again.

Have uninstalled it several times, and reinstalled to no avail.
Have checked log files and changed permissions to read-write on all folders/files that the log files suggest.
I still can't apply the update and Illustrator won't eve launch with it.

What you need to do is start up in window 7 and insert the snow leopard dvd and install boot camp 3.0 and after that you can install 3.1 update.

Your iOS version is probably too old to support software update. You must update using iTunes on your computer.
Make sure your iTunes on the computer is current. Plug your iPhone into iTunes. Let it sync. Then choose "Check for Updates..." from the iPhone's summary tab in iTunes. That should od it for you.

Seriously, no one can really give you a meaningful answer to that, but I'll give it a shot...
The trial software is the real software. To activate it with your subscription you need only log in using the Adobe ID you set up the subscription with.
Is some part of that not working for you? If so, perhaps you could be a little more specific.
Also know this: The folks here on this user to user forum cannot access Adobe's subscription database to work out problems there. Now and again an Adobe representative participates, but it is not guaranteed. Your best bet to work out subscription issues is to call Adobe customer support.

you can use home sharing.
or, assuming you have all your media files in the default location, copy the entire iTunes folder (not just the iTunes music or media folder) from the old to the exact same location on the new machine.
you can either use your network or an external HD for that.
