yes.
to install an upgrade, you need either the serial number of the upgraded program or, the upgraded program needs to be installed.
in either case, the upgraded program does not need to be installed after the upgrade completes installation.

One year ago i installed Elements 12 on my PC with a serial number and it was OK.
Today i have installed Elements 12 also on my laptop.

Since you already have one copy activated the serial number must be logged in your account details - I would first check that the one logged and the one you are attempting to enter are the same.
You can check your account details by going to www.adobe.com and clicking on Manage Account. You need to sign in with your Adobe Id and then click on View All under Plans & Products. Next click on View your products and after a while it should produce your list.
If there is a problem with the serial number, only Adobe can help you there (we are just users). Please see the response in this thread

I have installed Elements 13 on my Mac but can't see how to open it. When I click on the disk icon on the desktop it takes me to an information page that gives no information about opening Elements 13. How do I open the software so that it can be used?
Unfortunately, when I open applications, adobe photoshop elements 13 folder does not appear in the adobe folder. It appears as a disk on the desktop, only.

This is PSE 13? If so, it's not a bug, it's a feature. The new adaptive grid view in the organizer, where you see the thumbnails edge-to-edge, doesn't do stacks or version sets. Press. Ctrl+D/Command+D to get back to the old detail view instead.

When installing CC (2014) should I remove previous version of CC?
I see a bunch of new CC updates with (2014) appended to them. They seem to install another version of the applications. Should we be removing / uninstalling the previous versions?
If you happen to have/used any CS version of Flash in your collection you might want to retain it. They removed alot of functionality with the first release of CC so it can be helpful to keep it around for older files. I don't know if other applications were similarly down-functioned in the switch to the Cloud versions.

I do not want to start importing media into Elements and have to re-tag all the files. Can anyone advise what I should do? Is there a way of importing the tag structure I created on my old (now not working) pc?

The files don't open in preview either. In preview I get the error message 'The file "xxxx_xxx.jpg" could not be opened. It may be damaged or use a file format that Preview doesn't recognize'. The folders with these un-openable pictures do not even get imported into iPhoto. When I try to import them I get an error message about the files being unreadable.
The color profile information on the un-openable files is not visible but I see that all the other files from my old drive are RGB. -

Installed Elements 11, some graphics not loaded
I have installed Elements 11 on a windows7 64 computer , have already no 10 ,
the graphics , like background, frames , and graphics , did not load ,each one has to be clicked to install?

IreneWell you need internet connection now, for one time atleast, to use those backgrounds, graphics and frames.
In order to save the space on machines and reduce the download size of the software, Adobe has moved most of the content online. So if you have internet connected, just launch Editor, the thumbnails will start downloading in the background. So after some time you will see those items added in your Graphics panel.
But those are just the thumbnails (which will have a blue strip on the top right side). In order to use them you need to download each individually. Just double click on the one you want to use.and it will be downlaoded (Needless to say that you will need internet connection for this).
One Benefit - It save a lot of space on your system, because not use many use all the graphics. -
I have installed Elements 13 on two different drives, but each time I try to open it, I have to sign in, accept agreement (which I do) and then it just goes away-it never opens. I'm frustrated

I presently have Elements 10 installed on PC running Windows 7 and want to install Elements 12.
Should I first remove version 10 then install version 12? Or, does it matter?
Thanks,It doesn't matter whether you unistall it or not because PSE12 will install in its own folder and you will have access to both versions on the machine. In fact, it is a good idea to keep both versions for a short perioid until you get used to the new software. PSE12 has changed a lot from PSE10 in terms of look and feel.
