I have installed Smile Box and can't get it to install, I am running a Mac Powerbook G4 10.5.8 1.33 GHz help?

I am running a Mac Powerbook G4 OSX 10.5.8 1.33 GHz and can't get Smiebox to install, it downloads the program just fine but will not let me install it, can someone tell me why?

In general, we recommend a multi-core processor and at least 2 GB RAM.
Connection to the Internet is required; Smilebox is optimized for a high-speed broadband connection, and that faster connection will give you the best performance.
Smilebox uses your Internet browser and Flash11 (or higher) to run. We automatically detect whether Flash is installed and will help you install the free download if need be. You will also need javascript enabled. Your internet browser and any security software (firewall, antivirus) you have on your computer may need to be configured to "allow" Smilebox internet access. If your computer shipped with Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 you can install run Smilebox; we do require that Windows XP computers have Service Pack 3 installed.
To run Smilebox on your Mac, your Macintosh should have an Intel or Power PC processor on a G5 or higher (if your Mac was made in the past 3 years, it should meet this requirement), 2GB or more RAM.
*Smilebox will not run on earlier versions of the Mac OS X including Leopard (10.5).
Snow Leopard is 10.6.x, no G3/G4/G5 PPC Mac can run 10.6 or above.
So this line is wrong, or two other lines about Snow Leopard are wrong....

You may have installed the "VSearch" trojan, perhaps under a different name. Remove it as follows.

If you buy it from the Apple Online store yes it will have full 1 year warranty, and the possibility to directly buy Apple Care +.
If you buy it from somewhere else, it may not. If the online seller is not an Apple authorized reseller then you may need to take to to an Apple Store for physical inspection before purchasing the Apple Care Plus extension.
If its not sealed and new, the warranty timer may have started to elapse, and it may not be eligible for Apple Care +.
But without knowing where you plan to buy it its hard to say for sure.

If a windows system, use Windows Explorer to find the following file.
"C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 13\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe"
Try double clicking on it to run the editor directly rather than using the Welcome screen.

Have you checked the applications folder?
To quickly find it on the top right press the spotlight button it looks like that image
and type in Mail it should appear in the spotlight list, click it to launch mail or alternatively right click it and press open enclosing folder to find out where it has vanished too

Upgrading leaves the old version installed. Why and can I get rid of it?

I had SQL Server 2008 R2 installed on a Win7 box, and upgraded it to SQL Server 2014. All seems to have gone well, but in the programs menu I can see that SSMS 2008 R2 is still installed. For some reason, I seem to have SQL Server 2012 installed as
well, which is clever as I never installed it! I don't know if this came with SQL Server 2014, but I now seem to have
three versions of SQL Server installed!
Is there any reason why the old versions weren't uninstalled? Surely once I've upgraded, I don't need all the old stuff. Can I safely uninstall anything related to 2008 R2 and 2012, or will this cause problems?

Just got a Movie Box and can't get it to work

I just purchased a movie box from Pinnacle in hopes of transfering some of my vhs tapes to the computer in a quick and painless fashion. This is proved to be anything but!
First of all, even though the box is Mac compatible, the software isn't. And there are absolutely no instructions on how to use it with a Mac. I beilieve that I have everything hooked up correctly but have no idea where to go from here. It doesn't "pop up" on the screen or anything, and I can't find anywhere in iMovie to connect to it or import anything. It's like the computer doesn't even recognize it.
I was in a previous discussion group that told me to go with the movie box. Are any of you still out there that could shed a little light on the subject for me?

I have one it works fine. yeah, the Mac instructions aren't great. Try this.
(1) make sure you have your VCR audio and video outputs connected to the side with the two selection switches.
(2) be sure you know the difference between the audio and video outputs no matter which colors you use.
(3) make sure the indicator light is green on cable that connects to your computers firewire port.
(4) when you operate the vcr through Imovie. you will only be able to play your vhs tape. so to fast forward or reverse. you must use your vcr remote or your hand.
(5) to import your footage just click on import in imovie.
That should solve your problem. Also, in the future put these questions in the imovie forum.
