I have installed wireshark in my laptop. Now I have a problem with chmodBPF.

I have installed my favority protocol analizer and after that every time when I start my macbook it show me a message that make reference a startup and chmodBPF.
Does anybody knows something like that and how to fix it?

chmodBPF is part of Wireshark. You can get rid of it by logging in as admin and deleting it at Macintosh HD/Library/StartupItems. However, Wireshark may not run properly without chmodBPF; you might need to reinstall Wireshark.

I have a problem with Imovie. Just brought an macbook 15 retina , iLife install and Imovie was working. I than did a data migration from my old macbook pro and now it crashes on start up. I tried to re-install from app store but no option to re-install, just installed and it greyed out.
Well, my two-month-old MBP has no qualms about booting from a no-name external USB HD I put together...
Given that is is a common point of failure, I would imagine a large Apple Store should keep a stock of HD's on hand.
Now since you're a bit desperate and the genie pops up til Saturday and you seem to be the enterprising kind, let's try an experiment: if you have room enough in the external HD and assuming it isn't a Time Machine volume, why don't you plug it in, stick the Install CD and see if the installer lets you select the external drive as the install target. If you can install Leopard on it, on top of the backup without reformatting, and the Mac can boot from the drive afterwards, at least you would have some functionality restored and would be able to pull your stuff from the internal HD. Apple says booting from USB drives is not supported but that does not equate to not possible; some brands do work. Risks? Always. You can always lose your backup. Like I said, a challenge for an enterprising gal....
Next time around, consider having a bootable external clone at hand for rainy days. I keep three myself...

The site was designed around FP 10 and the link they have to download FP 10 nowalso directs to FP 13. I followed the "How to revert to FP 11.7 (Chris Campbell Oct 2013) along with the uninstall instructions link and now have both zip FP 10.3 and zip 11.7 in my downloads. I attempted to run FP 11.7, the "winax" file for IE after unzipping it but I am blocked bya window that says I cannot do this and must install FP 13. The only choice in this window, other than downloading is QUIT. What is the best approach now. The website is Auckland Council and the window concerned is "GIS Viewer". neither Chrome or IE will open it.

There is only one uninstaller for Windows that will uninstall both 32- and 64-bit versions of the Flash Player. At one point there were two separate installers (one for 32-bit OS and another for 64-bit OS), but that has not been the case for a long time. Based on the error, it's possible you may using an older version of the uninstaller (to find out the version of the uninstaller, right-click on the file, select properties, then the 'details' tab). The latest version is always posted to this link, and will work on both 32- and 64-bit operating systems. If you get the same error using this uninstaller, please post the contents at the end of the FlashInstall.log file, that show the uninstall attempt. Since you have a 64-bit OS, there will be two files at the following locations:
32-bit: C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash
64-bit: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash

I am on Acrobat DC trial. On earlier versions have no problem with duplex printing. Now with DC, it's impossible. I have tried downloading latest printer software, etc, etc. Nothing seems to0 work. Any ideas please?
Ralph, Thanks for replying. There where no received SIP messages at all just the INVITE being sent but I have made some more progress. The mini does indeed just work. I can do everything that you are supposed to do to other ichat users on the internet. Very nice.
The imac is still playing up but I have got further. I had peerguardian2 installed which unknown to me doesn't need to be running to prevent you for accessing 'barred' IP addresses. snatmap.mac.com is barred in the lists! I discovered this when I saw one of your other posts showed how to turn on terminal logging for ichat. Now that I have turned off peerguardian2 (using the disable filters option) I can make calls to the testbot and see the adverts. I have even done a video conference with the two testbots. I will just uninstall peerguardian2.
However, I can not get a AV chat working to a real user....

The ichat bandwidth limit is set to "none". I am in New Zealand and I have standard ADSL (not ADSL2+) 7.6M down 512K up. The mini config is also set to none.
Internet sharing is off.
I have had parallels on the machine but the two interfaces that it installed "Parallels Host-Guest" and "Parallels NAT" are configured 'off' and show as not connected. Is this enough? I will uninstall parallels and see if that helps since I don't use it. I also have VMware's thing installed but that doesn't seem to add any interfaces.
I need to capture a full trace of the imac to other ichat user to see what is happening but will update when I have does your suggested changes or have a trace

Yes, the iBook should run even with no battery installed.
These are the four most common possibilities when the battery will not charge:
(1) there is something wrong with your battery
(2) there is something wrong with your power adapter
(3) there is something wrong with your power input board (the part that contains the port where you plug in the adapter)
(4) there is something wrong with your logic board
Since you have eliminated all the possibilities except (4), it is likely that your logic board is having problems. The PMU (Power Management Unit) is part of the logic board, and it may be going out (hence, temporarily working again when you reset it). Since the iBook is not running reliably without the battery in place (as it should), replacing the battery most likely would be futile.
When a computer gets to be five years old, it seems a bit short-sighted to pay very much for repairs, just to have something else go wrong sooner rather than later. Have you had a look at the hugely improved specs on the new MacBooks? Is it time for a new portable to avoid embarrassment during your presentations? It sounds like that could be your best option. -

Cloud programs do not use serial numbers... you log in to your paid Cloud account to download & install & activate... you MAY need to log out of the Cloud and restart your computer and log back in to the Cloud for things to work -

Update: my PC USB hub was connected to a USB 3 port, I connected the 30 pin cable directly to my PC, And the restore worked just fine. Restored phone from iCloud backup and seems to be working fine. -

The question mark means the computer cannot find a bootable volumes so can;t do anything, That, combined with annoying sounds, strongly suggests a failed hard drive.
You can ask a "genius" at an Apple Rtail Store to test it but I'm pretty sure the drive is kaput. I'm hoping you had your data backed up. -

Error 23, 28, 29: These errors may indicate a hardware issue with your device. Follow the steps in this article. Also attempt to restore while connected with the white USB Dock Connector cable that shipped with your device, on a known good computer and network to isolate this issue to the device.
