Thanks for helping ... All that configuration is already done. I am able to surf the web from my computer using my iPhone's hotspot.
When I want to send an email from my computer, I get a message asking me to select the the SMTP server. Then I select my usual ISP server, but the message comes back telling me it does not work.
Is there any other configuration to do ?

PS: I have tried a full unistall/reinstall.
Strangely enough when I reinstalled from scratch and launched iTunes, there were songs in my library, including those which I thought I had deleted earlier today. I am really confused.
I just want a simple, automated iTunes solution.
I hate Windows.
FWIW if it matters, I'm using an HP Mini 110 (good bang for the buck and great for travel).

i have got a ipod touch 8gb and it is refurbished so it is the oldest software. so i am wondering if i can get all 1000 songs from my pc to my laptop because i used my pc to get songs but ii bought ipod touch software 2.5 or 2.2 whatever it is called how do i keep my songs on the ipod and get the new software or take the songs and put them on the laptop then sync them back to the laptop .

Updating your iPod's software, whether a major update or not, will re-sync the music to it from the computer after the software is finished installing.

Unless the music is bought from iTunes, then you won't be able to transfer it without third-party software.
You won't be able to transfer music that wasn't purchased from the iTunes Store using an iPod Touch because the Ipod Touch (First-Generation anyway, as far as I know) doesn't allow disk use.
I do not know of any third party software that is completely free and provides this ability through its demo.

Using iphone 3GS to transfer itunes library from old computer to new comp.

I am following all instructions provided at http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1329 but when I attempt to drag the itunes library into my iphone (which is listed under my computer) I am not able to. I have double checked and my itunes is set to "manually manage music". Is there another way to set my iphone so that it will accept the library folder? (I have already freed up enough space on my iphone to put my entire library).

are you talking about voiceover where the phone is reading things out loud to you? you have to double tap things in voiceover in order to select them. you'll need to go to settings > general > accessibility > and turn off voiceover there
