Try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good. Also, confirm your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers. If you still see the error message when you update or restore, contact Apple support.

I found the problem. Do you have other wi-fi (w-lan) like repeater or tv-transmitter or d-link etc. if yes, please disconnect them once and try again after restarting the time-capsule resp. change the channel if you can to another one. then it should work again.
@ home i have a tv-transmitter via wi-fi and indeed, i changed the channel from 1 to 6 or something like that, then the iphone worked again. -
After updating to itunes 10 I now get an error message that says there is a problem with the windows installer package. I have tried all the things that others suggested but cannot download itunes at all now. Have I lost itunes forever?

I have a P2035N laser printer. Up until last week it worked flawlessly. I now get an error message
saying that the printer needs troubleshooting is needed. I then click on troubleshooting and it runs a protocol which finishes by telling me the problem has not been resolved. I cannot print from word or any other program. Curiously, I downloaded a document from my company's web-based e-mail and printed it out last week. This may be where the problem started. The given document now prints out at random. ANyone have any ideas?
Please read this post then provide some details. What operating system? How is the printer connected? Are there any error messages on the printer or computer screen?
It would appear the offending print job may be stuck in the printer queue. Running the diagnostic tools at http://www.hp.com/go/tools may help resolve the issue.

The whole problem started when I was syncing my iPad to update it. iTunes for some reason, put it into recovery mode. I have done all the hints and tips for the error code, checked my internet connection & tried to restore on another computer, but it required an update of iTunes and would not connect to Apple server either.
Here is the work around:
When and if you get the same error it will prompt you to select one of three choices:
You have to select the LAST choice ---either Cancel (if you do this you will keep going around in circles), Restore to YOUR settings (which is really a trick question), or Restore to Factory (sorry I can't recall exact language)
Then in itunes select your ipad under "Devices" if it doesn't automatically...(YOU CAN SKIP TO #5)
There will be 3 Boxes in the "Summary" screen for you to choose from:
VERSION: DO NOT SELECT RESTORE, BACK.. I selected "Back up to this computer", OPTIONS: click on which ever box you desire (I did #1 & #2). Then I selected "CONFIGURE UNIVERSAL ACCESS" and hit "OK".
In the bottom right hand corner you will see two choices, select "SYNC" and your ipad & computer should start the syncing process which could last a LONG time depending on how much data you have backed up.
Sorry if this doesn't work for you but it's working so far for me! Good luck...and Apple please don't do this again! So very confusing! -
I am trying to activate my iPhone 4 via iTunes but i keep getting the error (1) message at the end of the restore. I believe my iphone has to be in DFU mode but i already tried that and same thing. Does anyone have any suggestions?
The error is just a simple error message just like (1013) instead it says (1). The iPhone I am trying to activate has been activated before I just currently have no service and I think that activating it will solve the problem. I just can't restore through iTunes because it won't finish. I get the message every time I try to restore.

I have downloaded the ios 6, three times but it just doesn't install. Right now, it's been 3 hours and my iphone is stuck on around 20% of updating ios. If I restore to ios 5, it happens very quickly but on ios 6 it's not. Kindly point out what am I doing

Perform USB isolation troubleshooting, including trying a different USB port directly on the computer. See the advanced steps below for USB troubleshooting.
Put a USB 2.0 hub between the device and the computer.
Try a different USB 30-pin dock-connector cable.
Eliminate third-party security software conflicts.
There may be third-party software installed that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting one or more TcpWindowSize entries into your registry. Your default packet size being set incorrectly can cause this error. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet-size modification for assistance. Or, follow this article by Microsoft: How to reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) to reset the packet size back to the default for Windows.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, bypassing any routers, hubs, or switches. You may need to restart your computer and modem to get online.
Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.

Hi, my iphone 5 encountered an unknown error while updating to iOS 7 via itunes and is now stuck in recovery mode and prompts me to restore the phone when I connect it to itunes but then I would lose all my data. I DO NOT have any back ups on itunes. Is there anyway to get out of recovery mode without restoring or recover data after a restore?
Or any other suggestions please? ThanksAs pdroth said, you should have gotten a backup made when you started the update of iOS. If you cannot find a backup, and the phone is in recovery mode, there are no futher suggestions to make. To get the phone working again you have to restore. You cannot force a backup at this time since it is already in recovery mode. It will not allow anything else but a restore at this point.

okay I've done everything regarding the transfer process (via file>transfer purchases) and syncing, so everything on my iPhone device seems to have been transferred to my iMac... however, I still get that message ("There are purchased items on the iPhone..."), trying to upgrade the iOS Have tried several times the same process of hitting transfer purchases via file, but nothing seems to make that message go away! Would have been nice to know which files I actually do need to transfer, which I don't get any info on of course...

Error 1015 means either you're trying to restore to an earlier iOS version, which is not supported, or you previously hacked the phone - jailbroken or iOS downgrade. In the later case, you can no longer restore or update.

1) Download the IOS 5 update file from http://www.iphonefaq.org/archives/97320
2) Copy the downloaded IOS 5 to the firmware locations stated in the link above.
3) Start itunes and update. It will take 2-5 hours to update your iPhone to IOS5. -
