I have Ipod nano 3rd generation that I use to listen to audiobooks in my car.  I turn the ipod off when I get out of the car and when I restart the ipod, it doesn't start where I left off.  Any suggestions

I recently received an Ipod nano 3rd generation, which I use to listen to audiobook in my car.  Every time I leave the car, I stop the Ipod and take it with me.  When I return to the car and start up the Ipod, it does not pick up where I left off in the book.  Any suggestions?

It could be that the CD player will only playback "Redbook" CD's from the previous position.
And starts mp3 type CD's from the beginnig.
However.. it's not Logic related.

  • I have an Apple wireless keyboard that I use with my iPad 2.  Does it work with the iPad 3?

I have an Apple wireless keyboard synced to my iPad 2.  Can sync this same keyboard be used with my iPad 3?  If so, what are the syncing instructions?

Assuming you are talking about the aluminium keyboard the answer is yes.  I had some problems trying to get my iPad 2/keyboard combo to 'forget' their connection but one complete the keyboard connected to my iPad 3.

  • Playing ipod nano 3rd generation through stereo using ipod dock

Hubby gave me an ipod dock for xmas so i can play the ipod through the stereo, we connected it all up and for a while it was fine. A couple of times recently the ipod has frozen, the screen distorted and it wouldn't play. I have had to reset it a couple of times which is so annoying, can you tell me why this is happening?

Is the dock an Apple product or third party? Look closely at the metal connectors on both the dock and ipod. Have any become bent or crooked?

  • I have a nano 3rd gen that was reformated and now it won't show up in itunes

    See above

Oh, I thought you had a Mac, because it says "Categories: Connecting to a Mac" on the opening post...
iPods are not designed to work through Windows Media Player.  To erase (reformat) an iPod, you should use the Restore command from the iPod's Summary tab in iTunes.
And have you done what I wrote before (on your PC)?  Shut down and start up your PC.  Run iTunes.  Do this to reset the iPod

while it is connect to the PC.  Try connecting to a direct USB port, if you previously used a USB hub.

  • Ipod nano 3rd generation straight up died.

I possess an ipod nano 3rd generation that just stopped working altogether. The screen is black and no buttons are doing anything. I've had it freeze up to where it stops working and the backlight stays on, all i had to do was wait for it to die then plug it in. This time however is different. No buttons are working, it was at 80% charge when i checked like 2 minutes before it died, and it wont respond to anything. At first i tried what i always do, which is just plug it into the wall and it'll turn back on, but it didnt respond to it. I've had it for almost 5 years and it's had that clear protection case on it the entire time. My computer and even iTunes doesnt recognize it either, it only sees the cord used to plug it in but says theres nothing on the other end. Please respond, i essentially have a very expensive piece of scrap metal now.

Take the iPod Nano to an Apple store or an AASP.  Whichever is more convenient for you.

  • Nano 3rd generation recently purchased is not recognized by iTune Account

I recently purchased a Nano 3rd generation that has no songs or any other type of media on it.  It does have a device name "user1". I need to change the device name to match my current iTunes account so that it can be synced with iTunes.  I ran the diagnostics but while iTunes seemed to find the device, the sync test would fail.  See below.  I am trying to find out how to correct this problem so the device can be loaded with the current library.

Save all the photos from your Droid into a folder on your computer.
Connect your device to your computer. On iTunes left Pane, select iPhone under 'Devices'; then on the right Pane, select PHOTO tab.  Make sure Sync Photo box is checked, and "from" box selected the folder that has Droid's photos.  Then click the SYNC or APPLY button on the lower right window.

  • Does the iPod nano 3rd Generation charge and sync in an iPhone 3G Dock?

I wanna bye an iPhone 3G Dock. Now I have the question if I can connect my iPod nano 3rd Generation to the new dock for syncing and charging. On Apples homepage is the campatibility status set to only iPhone 3G, but I question this because older docks, like the one for the old iPod Photo works with other iPods as well.
The dock connector on the iPhone 3G dock seems to be the same as the one on the charging cable and that cable has to be inserted in the dock. So why should it not work?
I know I could bye the iPhone 3G cradle for the universal dock I already have, but I want to have the ability to make speakerphone conversations with the iPhone in the dock. That only works well with the original iPhone 3G dock.
    Can someone help me?

Bit late on the old reply, but i'm using a different Apple Dock for my Nano. I have the Universal one,but it looked so big for the little Nano. I stumbled across an iPhone one by mistake, but only cost me £7 delivered, brand new.
So in answer to your question, yes. And it enables me to get a skin on the iPod and still use the dock...

  • I have ran the diagnostics test on iTunes and iPod.  The diagnostic says there is an iPod, it is identified with the correct name, but it says there is no sync ability.  What can I do?  iPod nano 3rd generation.  All updates are current.

It had not been used for awhile and most of the songs that were on there were gone when I turned it on.  I was trying to sync to update the library.

Weeks, months, years?  It's possible your battery is dying.  Take the iPod Nano to an Apple store or an AASP.  Whichever is more convenient for you.

    Hello HernanOtt,
Depends on where you have it serviced.  Here are Apple's repair quotes.
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/service/prices/
You would probably save a lot of money by having a 3rd party repair company do the job for you instead.  Just do a simple Google search for iPod repair and you'll get a plethora of results.
