I have iTunes on my work PC, can i transfer this file with all of my purchases and music i have in my library to my home laptop as finding at work i just dnt have the time to play around with iTunes. My wife has iTunes on my laptop with her purchases and her library though, will this be an issue also ? Can i have hers and mine iTunes on our single home laptop?

Please see the support article below to learn more about iTunes Store movie rentals. You can not move the rental from one computer to the other, but can sync it with an iOS device.
Watch your movie on the device you used to rent it. If you rented the movie on your computer, you can move it to an iOS device or Apple TV (1st generation). To do this, connect the devices and sync using USB. When you move a rented movie from your computer, it will disappear from your computer’s iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as much as you want, but you can only have it on one device at a time.

USB 2 is faster than Firewire 400 and USB 3 is faster than Firewire 800
If it was another Mac you were transferring from then you could use Firewire Target Disk Mode which makes the boot drive of the old Mac appear on the desktop of the new Mac to rapidly copy files, but you have a Windows PC with no FWTDM capability.
So to connect the two machines requires a network be setup over Ethernet and mucking around with the complexities of all that and it still takes awhile to finish. One can't setup a network with a PC over USB or Firewire, only Firewire with another Mac.
You get a external USB drive, USB 3,2,1 is fine and just drag and drop copy, the machine does all the work and you go do something else until it's finished, then repeat the same with the Mac.
Fast simple and effective, let it copy overnight if you have too.
I routinely clone my entire hard drive via USB 2 and it only takes a hour and a half for 350GB.
By the time you figure out how to network a Mac and a PC over Ethernet and getting it work to transfer files, you could be done already via USB. -
I am so angry - there has to be a misunderstanding. my Itunes was disabled as there was a charge that I did not authorize and I cannot find the phone number for security and the dingbat girl who I'm emailing send me a link that does not work. Sure.
There are several possibilities.
You can connect the 2 with FW and start one as Target (keep T pressed during boot). You will see the second Mac as external HD and do the transfer with Finder.
Or you can connect the 2 on the same net with Gigabit Cable or WiFi and again use Finder.

You want to share the Library?
For iPhoto 09 (version 8.0.2) and later:
What you mean by 'share'.
If you want the other user to be able to see the pics, but not add to, change or alter your library, then enable Sharing in your iPhoto (Preferences -> Sharing), leave iPhoto running and use Fast User Switching to open the other account. In that account, enable 'Look For Shared Libraries'. Your Library will appear in the other source pane.
Any user can drag a pic from the Shared Library to their own in the iPhoto Window.
Remember iPhoto must be running in both accounts for this to work.
If you want the other user to have the same access to the library as you: to be able to add, edit, organise, keyword etc.
Quit iPhoto in both accounts. Move the Library to the Users / Shared Folder
(You can also use an external HD set to ignore permissions, a Disk Image or even partition your Hard Disk.)
In each account in turn: Double click on the Library to open it. (You may be asked to repair the Library Permissions.) From that point on, this will be the default library location. Both accounts will have full access to the library, in fact, both accounts will 'own' it.
However, there is a catch with this system and it is a significant one. iPhoto is not a multi-user app., it does not have the code to negotiate two users simultaneously writing to the database, and trying will cause db corruption. So only one user at a time, and back up, back up back up. -
I am trying to put together a slide show for my son's wedding. I would like to put 2 or more pictures on one slide and add music and some text. I tried Powerpoint for the slides but doesn't seem to be able to export to iphoto or imovie. In imovie and iphoto i can only do one picture / slide. Any thoughts? Thanks

At this point you have the option of keeping a device optimized version (lower resolution version) of your photo on your phone while iCloud stores a full resolution version. Or keeping the full resolution version on both your phone and the iCloud. If you delete the photo on your phone it will be deleted on the iCloud. I know, bummer. Also it should be noted that the photos app and the library are still in beta and to this point i see why. I would use dropbox or a smiliar app for off device storage.
So far this is how it has been working/not working for me. Whether or not I choose to keep originals or optimized on my phone it will only keep the originals and it has only been uploading lower resolution versions of my photos to the iCloud library. Seems to be working in reverse.
Again these are still in beta so i am hopeful that this will be fixed in the near future.

No, sorry, you cannot, nor can you transfer the balance to someone else's iTunes Store accounts. But you can buy music, TV shows, or movies, if they're available in your country, and play them on your computer.

Please help me figure this out. I'm very unhappy at the moment. I'm fustrated and don't have any idea how to revert to the original version before the update was done on iMovie 10. I NEVER hated APPLE until NOW!! I love APPLE products and apps so please help me stay in that mindset. So I worked on some movie projects when I got my macbook pro 6 months ago. I update reguarly. I saw the update prompt and honestly, I did not think I would have ANY issuess with opening my previous files that I created only a few months ago with this updated version.The new updated version of iMovie 10 won't let me open my previous files I created before the update today. I have a wedding that I'm trying to finish and deliver and now I can't because that file version won't open. I keep getting an error message and the iMovie app closes. Last night I saw the file and tried to open it but no luck. Error message came up again. I reboot and turned off my laptop for the evening and tried again just now but nothing!! I need that video. My job depends on it! I worked so hard on this wedding video and now it's lost and won't open. I work another job and don't have much time. I really don't want to start all over again. Please help me. Thanks so much for your assistance.

Jolly A. RuppI also have Jolly's problem. I found the iMovie 9.0.9 folder and tried to launch the older version of iMove. It would not launch. I removed all of the iMovie preferences from the Preferences folder, removed iMove 10 from the applications folder, and restarted my Mac. iMove 9.0.9 still won't launch and I can't access my videos created with the older version of iMovie. Is there a way to uninstall iMovie 10 and reinstall iMovie 9.0.9?

Now, hold down the home button on your phone and plug it in to the cable - don't let go of the button until iTunes tells you it's detected a phone in recovery mode.
