I have iWork box set, can't install on new iMac.

Hi, I recently bought the new 27" iMac and was meaning to install the iWorks suite on it. I have the box set, but I realized that there is no CD-ROM drive. Is there a way I can download iWorks using something on the box set? please help!

You can buy the application anew from the MacAppStore and download them. I wouldn't do that right now as the grapewine says there will come a new upgrade in december.
Do you still have an old computer with the Super drive?

  • Can I install my new iMac's OS X Lion software on my other Macs?

I've just acquired a new iMac with the latest version of OS X installed.  I also have an older iMac and a MacBook, both running Snow Leopard and meeting all requirements to run Lion.  Can I use the new iMac's software if all the other Macs are registered in my name?

    No
The license that accompany's an installed version on a new Mac does not allow use on additional machines, but you can purchase and download a copy on one of your other machines and use it on as many as you own.

  • Lost my CS3 install CD, but still have license. How can I install on new computer?

I have a CS3 Photoshop license and serial#, but lost my CDs.  It looks like I can download at http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs3-product-downloads.html, but I keep getting this error: HTTP ERROR: 404 /support/downloads/dlm/main.jsp.  Does anyone know where else I can get a copy of the media?
    Thanks for any help!

Ha!  It's a bad link from Adobe.  All the other downloads appear to go to http://trials2.adobe.com, but the CS3 downloads go to http://esd.adobe.com for some reason, and this does't exist.
So I copied the link and switched it myself:
Bad link for Photoshop CS3  http://esd.adobe.com/Applications/Photoshop/CS3/Mac/ADBEPHSPCS3_WWE.dmg:
Good link for Photoshop CS4 http://trials2.adobe.com/dlm/Applications/Photoshop/CS4/Mac/ADBEPHSPCS4_LS1.dmg
Manually typed link for Photoshop CS3 that lets me download the ADBEPHSPCS3_WWE.dmg file:
    http://trials2.adobe.com/dlm/Applications/Photoshop/Mac/ADBEPHSPCS3_WWE.dmg
    HERE'S THE CATCH.
You must go to the first link first, and get the download error.  From there, you have to paste in the manually typed link, otherwise you get file not found or you don't have permission errors.
Incidentally, this file appears to be the same file linked to from:
    http://prodesigntools.com/download-adobe-cs4-and-cs3-free-trials-here.html
    This worked for me!

  • I don't have a good good disc for the mac box set can i get it with it my serial no.

I don't have a good good disc for the mac box set can i get it with it my box number?

If this is a new box you just bought ad the disk is bad, Apple will replace it for you.  OTOH, if you have lost the disk or it has become damaged over time, that is your responsibility, and though I don't speak for Apple, I'd be very surprised if you had any option other than buying another copy.

  • I have a subscription but can only install a trial?

I have a subscription but can only install a trial?

You have a keyboard but can only type one sentence?
Seriously, no one can really give you a meaningful answer to that, but I'll give it a shot...
The trial software is the real software.  To activate it with your subscription you need only log in using the Adobe ID you set up the subscription with.
Is some part of that not working for you?  If so, perhaps you could be a little more specific.
Also know this:  The folks here on this user to user forum cannot access Adobe's subscription database to work out problems there.  Now and again an Adobe representative participates, but it is not guaranteed.  Your best bet to work out subscription issues is to call Adobe customer support.
    Good luck.

How full is your drive?  You need at least 10/15% of free space.

You will need to Upgrade to Snow Leopard to get a Compatible version of iTunes to Sync your Device.
    Snow Leopard = OS X 10.6.x
It is Not available as a download... It is a Paid Upgrade.
    Do this first...
Check that your Mac meets the System Requirements for Snow Leopard...
    Snow Leopard Tech Specs
    http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
If so... Purchase a Snow Leopard Install Disc...
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
    Other countries...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
After the Successful Install, run Software Update to get the latest updates for Snow Leopard.
Be sure to make a Backup of your Current System Before Upgrading...

I have license for photoshop CS5 extended for windows , I have switched to mac , can  I install the same license copy on mac ?

Unfortunately, no. the CS programs are platform specific. You have three options. Upgrade to CS6 and request a platform swap, in which case you will give up the Windows serial number. Second, you could buy a second serial number for Mac outright. Third, you can buy the subscription to Photoshop CC, which can be used on both Windows and Macintosh..

  • HT1533 I have an old PowerBook G4 I installed a new drive how do I load the new OS

I have an old PowerBook G4 I installed a new hard drive how do I load in the OS

You'll need the Original system discs that came with your system when you bought it or a Upgrade DVD for a newer version of OSX that you bought and installed over the top of the original version. Either should boot the system and allow you to install that version of OS X.
But you will still need the original Applications DVD to reinstall the iLife Apps.
If you do not have them you can order a Replacement set from Apple for a small charge.
To boot the system from a DVD you can either hold down the C key when starting the system, that tells the system to boot from the DVD drive, or hold down the Option key when starting and that will bring up the Boot Menu screen where you select the DVD/DVD drive as the Boot source.
