I just bought a mac book pro - When setting up my computer it told me that I there was updates to my operating sytem - to install the updates. I installed them and then restarted my computer - But it still says that I have an update to do - which is the operating sytem one that I just did??? Do I still need to do something else.

sometimes updates have other updates as prerequisites, so one set of updates can lead to another set of updates. Unless it is asking you to apply the same update over and over again, you should probably accept the new set of updates that Software Update is offering. -

i had same issue some years back. sure my operator was different from yours. unfortunatly some of these 3rd party products dont spend much effort on a mac. My one had half a dozent programs, for each version of OSX one. When i called them up the gave me the correct version which worked. You may have not the right one. May try first the MAC and ensure it works fine without the card and that software. -
I am not seeing the band in between the Library and Project that has Play button and other command buttons. When I go to IMovie and Preferances, I see the
only options as follows "Clip: Apply Slow motion automatically" and Theater : Automatically upload content to icloud. But various forum discussions mention that this should open up options for browser tab, inspector tab etc. I looked at other menu's and I do not find anything. Can somebody help solve this.After repeated search, I found my answer. I have both iMovie App on my Mac. Sadly they don't share the library or events. I liked the version 9 having inspect tab and others where you could manually enter many values which in version 10 takes hec of playing around with your mouse.
For example, In version 10 you have hold the mouse or trackpad to adjust the % of sound of strip and still may not get to desired value. In version 9, you can bring up a window for adjusting audio and enter the values directly. This is user friendly.
I guess, I have to live with two versions for a while. App store does no longer haver version 9. Hope any new updates to OS wont automatically delete version 9. -

If you went through the wizard to set up your email, it's probably set to POP, then.
I found this article with instructions, and it doesn't make any mention of IMAP.
What this means is that messages you send from your Mac (using Mail on your Mac or iPhone), will not show up when you check your email on the web.
You will probably also notice that messages you read on your Mac (again, using Mail) won't show up as read when you check your email using Safari or another web browser.

Because iOS and Mac OS X software isn't cross-compatible. If you're going to the iTunes App Store and not the Mac App Store, none of your purchases on other devices will be listed there unless you put them onto the new computer.

You have to "activate" it with a computer having iTunes loaded. (Or have the apple store activate it for you)
You would connect the iPad to the computer's USB port with the supplied cable.
The itunes will walk you through the process with messages.
Then, you can explore and add music and apps with itunes or download them from the itunes store.
One way to get good training is to find someone with an iPhone or ipod touch and let them give you a few minutes of training.
Or take it to an apple store and ask for a quick demo.
You will catch on quick, fast and in a hurry.

I started a section with my Apple ID (the account that I have I use to iTunes) but when I try to update it says that there are upgrades available for other accounts and that I have to upgrade using the account that I used to buy iPhoto. I am new to mac, but i keep reading about Mountain lion. I just bought my Mac book Pro less then a month ago. my current software is OS X 10.8.2, Do i already have mountain lion? How do I check to see?
As the others have stated, you're on Mountain Lion with 10.8, anything. But you can check your version of the software by going to the apple in the upper left corner of the screen and clicking it and selecting "About This Mac". That will open a box that shows your software version. Once there you can click on "More Info" that will tell you everything about your specific mac configuration.

You are long past any upgrade eligibility and only can buy a fresh license. And since even CS6 isn't exactly 100% compatible with Yosemite the sensible thing to do would be to sign up for Creative Cloud.
