I have just purchased a new mac and want to use it as my primary account as opposed my work laptop ?
As the title says - how do I o this and what do I stand to lose?
I have backed up on the new mac and have everything linked to the cloud.
Thanks
I want the mac to be the main machine for my iTunes account - it won't sync as it is not the main computer.
I understand that you only have one computer as your primary PC ??
Basically I just want the new mac to be central to everything but want music apps etc there from my iPad and have read you can lose data hence question.

I have just purchased a new Mac and want to sync my ipod - previous computer was PC - can I recover tunes from the ipod to the Mac?
1) authorize iTunes on the new machine for your iTunes store account(s)
2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPod but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPod with it.
above covers purchases from the iTunes store. for everything else, check out this post by Zevoneer. -
I have purchased Lightroom 5 for my window computer. I have just purchased an Apple Mac and want to install it there also but Adobe won't accept my existing Lightroom key

Hi bertalan,
The Lightroom windows serial key will not work with the Mac as the these serial keys are platform specific.
Thanks

The Lightroom serial number is cross-platform. It works on both Windows and Mac.

I have just purchased my 1st Mac Mini,
I haven't imported any music yet except from purchased music.
I have 100gb of music on an external hard drive (already formatted to Mac OS Journaled.
I want my iTunes to be store on the External Hard drive, and to update my External Hard drive with new music I add to iTunes.
I also want to know the best way of adding my music on the Ext Hard drive e.g.: "add folder to library" or "import"
I plan on buying a Macbook Pro soon, and want to be able to use the same iTunes library.Launch iTunes with the Option key held down, click on Choose Library, and specify it. If the external drive doesn't contain the iTunes database files, create a new library there and import that music.
If the library contains any rented movies, they won't play on a different computer.

what are peoples opinions about streaming videos on website i.e. justintv for example. is there are hight risk fr a mac? I have just purchased my first mac and am tempted but don't want to compromise my new mac
There are no known viruses for OS X. If you have to worry about a website putting some malware on your computer, then you should not visit it any longer. Find a legitimate site.

Have just purchased a new mac book pro, am now having issues syncing my apps to my new mac?
Welcome to Apple Support Communities
You already have got OS X Mavericks installed (the Keynote, Pages and Numbers versions available in the Mac App Store are only compatible with OS X Mavericks).
You have got a Late 2013 MacBook Pro, which uses a special OS X Mavericks version that is not available in the Mac App Store. This is the reason why the Mac App Store is not compatible with OS X Mavericks even if you are using it. This will be fixed in OS X 10.9.1, when your Mac uses the same Mavericks version as all other Macs.
Until then, you can reinstall OS X through OS X Recovery > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4718 -
I have just bought the new mac and can't set it up as my main computer for iTunes
I have just bought the new mac and have synced it with my ipod but the ipod is not the primary computoer for itunes.
My old computer is the primary one
I have synced my ipad but the apps did not transfer to my mac
any help would be appreciated
thxYou have me confused as to where the apps really are. You mention iPod and mention that the iPod isn't your primary computer. Obviously, it can't be - its an iPod. I'm not trying to be a jerk - I just dont understand what that means.
The you say that the old computer is the primary computer for iTunes. That makes more sense. Anyway, you could have transferred the iTunes library from the old computer to the new Mac, but I assume that you did not realize that.
So ... If the apps are on your iPad - but did not transfer to iTunes when you synced the iPad with the new Mac - transfer Purchases. Connect the iPad to the Mac, launch iTunes, right click on the iPad name on the left and select Transfer Purchases. That will put the apps in iTunes on the Mac.
Movies cannot be downloaded again for free because Apple does not have an agreement with the movie studios to allow for that. At least that is how I understand the way that works. -
I have just purchased a new iMac and this is all new to me as it is so different from my PC. I am trying to transfer my iTunes from my PC onto the iMac, I have got as far as pasting the itunes music folder onto the desktop but I cant seem to transfer that into iTunes on my iMac. Can anyone help me out with this?
See iTunes: How to move your music to a new computer
BTW this list os for discussing the list itself. You'll get better response to questiosn you post if you post them to the correct list. I'll ask to have this moved to the iTunes list.

Hi guys...I have just got a new computer and want to get my library back up and running on it. However I seem to be missing some of my iTunes music purchases. Any ideas on how to get them back? They show up on my ipad but not my actual itunes account.
Hello there, Capricious13.
There are great pointers in the following Knowledge Base article. Depending on where you see the content and where you want to get it to, this should guide you to putting it in the right place:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

I have just purchased a new iMac and have uninstalled cs6 from my old iMac. Do I just install CS6 as normal or do I need a new code. My licence is for one user
Yes, just install as you normally would using the serial number you originally used.
You did not have to uninstall on the old machine - with your single user license you are allowed to have two activated installations. So feel free to reinstall it if those are the only two machine you plan to have it on and you'd like to have a backup installation. -
I can't get the CS4 Design Standard to download onto my computer... I just purchased a new MAC and I can't install my old software.
I'm having the same issue. All my applications transferred over. Lightroom is working, but when I went to edit a picture in Photoshop, I got an error message. It told me to restart, but the program still won't open after restart. It says licensing has stopped working, but what does that mean? I can't tell whether it's unsupported/blocked, or if it's a malfunction. The error code is 150:30 See screen shot.

I have my iTunes on my PC and have an iPod Classic, I have just purchased an iPod touch and want to load all of my Itunes music onto it, how do I do this and not loose my library, I'm not very computer savvy.
You sync music the same way as on the Classic. What you sync to an iPod does not effect the iTunes library on your computer.
