Use a different browser.

After downloading and installing the 64-bit version of iTunes for Windows I get a "Congratulations, you've successfully installed iTunes" message. However, when I plug in my iPhone to synch it I get a message that says that I don't the 64-bit version??

After downloading the 64-bit version of iTunes on my Windows 7 machine I get the "Congratulations, you've successfully installed iTunes" message. However, when I plug in my iPhone I get an error message that says, in part, "...the required software is not installed. Run the installer to remove iTunes, then install the 64-bit version of iTunes". I've been at this for hours, carefully deleting all Apple software (Apple Mobile Support, Quicktime, etc. and before each attempt to install the 64-bit version from Apple ( no third parties). Same result each time!!! Any ideas????

Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, does your device connect without that message now?

The update automatically came from the app store and i have sucessfully installed other updates before and never been asked this question. This update was released on the 16th of April. It is update 9.4.3.
I logged into the app store and went to Iphto and found the update.All good thankyou, but the same message comes up saying i need to log into Icloud.
Any further thoughts ?

if itunes will not run, you probably have mangled windows badly
one feature of windows 8 is the refresh that saves libraries,
because you are using windows 7, you will need to backup all files to another storage device

I have just purchased CC on a monthly paid deal and now unable to use it.

Previously had CC on a trial that had expired on a different email address. Now when I try and load CC on the new account and email I just get a 404 This Page is not available message. This is an urgent issue as have paid and cannot access the apps at all. Have uninstalled the old CC and associated Photoshop. I already have LR purchased separately so can use. Effectively have paid and cannot use the apps at all. Can someone pleas help. It still seems to default to old account and email address and asks me to buy package which I've already done when I drill down. Is there no phone numbers for Support staff to discuss the issue? I'm not sure if should post email for responses. In fact ma totally frustrated with the whole process i having an issue with something I have bought and just cannot get to speak to someone. How do I know when a response has been posted.

Jeff, many thanks for the reply. More than Adobe Chat did for me, Problem sorted this morning with telephone support. Complete mix up between 2 accounts I have and Trial copy. Appreciate your help thanks. Have now got a fully operative CC with my LR integrated, concerned as had purchased some years ago and didn't want to miss out on updates by having a separate copy.

The button response has changed.
Short press : sleep
Medium press (2-3 sec) : restart, shutdown, sleep dialog
Long press : force shutdown. (Same as before)

Don't you feel cheated and conned by this product. I am 50 years old and from what you write I can see you know a lot more about your computer than I do about mine. Additionally I live in southern Africa (in fact I live in one and work in another, neither of which appear on the drop down list when you start looking at asking Apple directly for help) and feel they shouldn't allow people to sell their products here (I bought it in a shop that sells i-Macs etc. - not off a guy on a street corner!)if they can't offer support.
I have just been going from error code to another, losing my music that took me hours and hours to install and catalogue/modify in the library etc. and now I've had enough of it.
Essentially it seems to me we have bought faulty products, and made Apple richer than Microsoft in the process.
I'm turningmy back on this bloody iPod Touch, giving it to my son to see if he has the ability and interest to get it working, and if he hasn't I'm just goinbg to have to sell it to a sucker who also wants to buy into the dream, until he wakes up to the reality of shoddy product. hours in front of a computer screen, a fortune in downloads (here I only have about 5 to 10 kb per second download speed), trawling the internet looking for people than have also suffered at the hands of an obviously fatally-flawed system.where every time Apple just recommends to install the latest version of iTunes.
I for one would rather have my money and my wasted time back............

When trying to download shockwave player I keep getting a message that an additional plug in is needed but it won't allow me to download it

I am trying to update shockwave player, on firefox, thee bar does not come up asking me to allow only a bar comes up telling me i need an additional plug in to install but I am not able to download the plug in,

Check your mac's Serial Number.
Some people have problems with missing serial numbers on their Macs and that's the message you get when this happens.
Click on the Apple at the top left of the screen, open "About this Mac" and click on "More Info". You should see a list with information about your Macbook Air. Check that on the Serial Number field you have your Mac's Serial. If you have "SystemSerial#" written instead then that's your problem.
You can re-enter your serial number if you have a USB CD drive, it's not very straightforward but I can walk you through it if you need it.

I can now see it in Image Aquire ... image capture does not see it nor does VueScan.
Image aquire is a horrible program. It crashes continually.
I still have no idea where the driver files that I have downloaded are. I cant find them anywhere. Admittedly I know very very little about how the computer runs ...I just use the programs. And, I believe reasonably, that when I purchase a product that it will work on my operating system. The business that I purchased from will be open tomorrow and I will ring them. If I cannot sort this out I will have to return it.

I have just purchased photoshop elements 13 & premier elements 13 and downloaded both. How do I install them from my download file?

Both files are in my download folder (forty minute download time for each one|) but I am not sure how to install them. I would like to put a short cut to each one on my desk top.
