I have just set up a new email host. The settings seem simple until i get to outgoing mail port. I don't find a place for that. Advice on Apple support says to click to continue, but there is no click to click. Any help?
In mail settings, how do I find the window or box to insert the outgoing mail port designation?
I am on 10.7, so Mail interface may look a bit different, but here a couple of screenshots - on the (Preferences) accounts page, look at the bottom for outgoing mail server and then choose Edit:
In the resulting window:
enter the information needed; also click on Advanced and enter any info/port numbers given to you (unless it does it automatically).

Hi, I have just set up my domain email address with google and Im trying to set up mail on my mac. Its receiving mail but its not letting me send emails from that address. I have tried quite a few solution but cant figure it out. Can anyone help

No, and if I noticed anyone that I allowed to use my iPhone checking my email which is the same as opening any of my snail mail without my permission, that would be the last time they used my iPhone.

I have just added an exchange email account to my new IPad2. I am able to receive emails but I am not able to send messages from this account. I have the exact same account set up on my Old IPad and iPhone and am ble to send and receive. My work (where the server for this account is) gave me the IPad and set up the apple account. What am I missing?
You might want to try removing they email account and setting it back up again

Im having trouble setting up my mail. I have just upgraded from a iphone 4 to 5. mail keeps asking for my password when i put it in it comes up saying
the operation could not be completed (MFMessageErrorDomain error 1032)

I installed Yosemite a few days ago and just found that all my previous emails on gmail are gone. Have no idea why and looking at all my settings all is as was. My other accounts are good.
Anyone any ideas.
Thank you to those who respond.Further to the above I did delete all the content of the "Archive File" in mail after the Yosemite upgrade due to a lot of rubbish being in there that should not have been so decided to begin anew. I now wonder whether all my past gmail items were in there as well. If so how can I retrieve it via Time Machine.

do a reset, no data loss. HOld down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.

If you used the same Apple ID as previously then you are using the same iCloud account.

I am having such fun and games trying to set up a pop account on my iMac. I have set it up on my iPad, iPhone, iMac at work. But when I try at home nothing works. It keeps wanting to set it up as an iMac account. Has anyone got any ideas?
Of course that should read imap not iMac.

I have recently bought an Ipad but have forgotten my gmail password that I use on my Mac. I have used this email as my apple ID. If I now set up a new email account on my Ipad, do I have to change my apple ID as well as my apple password! HELP A VERY CONFUSED NOVICE!!!
On your Mac, try to access your gmail account. There should be a link you click for "Forgot My Password". Click it and try to retrieve your password.

I have just set up itunes match on my new imac. It is saying I can access all my 9000 songs but only the playlist tab is live - I can't access albums or songs. Am I missing something?

I do not understand your problem. iTunes Match does not change the way iTunes looks. When match process is complete, the match screen tells you how much music you have in the cloud.
Across the top of screen you have options to select songs, albums, artist, composers etc.
Suggest that from main menu, select view>show sidebar.

Can't burn 57 min imovie to idvd 5
Everything works fine, but at the end my movie did not burn to the dvd. I had to go to best quality as it was originally 4.0, I deleted some of the movie so not it is 3.9. I just downloaded idvd 5.01 any other suggetions? thanks, Pam
