I am super tired of having to put all of my movies and music on the hard drive just to have it erased again. The products I am using are WD 4TB My Book and 2 TB My Passport external hard drives. When it happens, there is always an icon that reads, EFI, along with the My Book icon. Thank you for your assisstance.

Yes, you have WD software installed REMOVE IT !!
WD has warned its customers about their huge mistake that their software doesnt work on Mavericks and causes data loss.
(also dont use WD drives anymore)

Have you ever started the Oracle home page?
Do you have any other Oracle installation?
What kind of OS do you use? I can see Windows 2000.
Those two services OracleServiceXE and OracleXETNSListener are enough to run XE.
You could check by the Task Manager:
- OracleServiceXE should be about 50K
- OracleXETNSListener – 6K
Turn those services to Manual. Restart the computer and Start Oracle database.
You can check the LISTENER.ORA. Host should be your host name. Same into TNSNAMES.ORA. If the HOST = YourComputerName there are OK.
Then you should check for any firewall. For instance, Zone Alarm could prevent to access your database.

my video recording sounds not working at all but it's working for other things such as music. I've tried to clear my sound thing near the earphone hole but had no success can someone please help me out?Had an Iphone 4 for about 3 months now. This happened to the first one I had and they ended up having to replace it at the apple store just a couple weeks ago 6/2. It happened again last night to my new one. This time i was able to correct it by going to itunes, backing up the phone to icloud, and then restoring the software. Mine did not work with voice memo, but did work with headphones plugged in, and would also work on speaker. I could hear callers but they couldn't hear me. I had purchased a new case (lifeproof case at $79.99) because it comes with plugs that cover the headphone jack, and the charging port, and is also waterproof. I heard that the root cause is due to lint, dirt, etc getting inside the headphone jack. Well, must be something else. It's a 10 days old phone, and has been in this overpriced case the whole time, and I have not used the headphones. I hope this doesn't keep happening.

External Hard Drive(ERROR CODE 0) .DMG Back Up Issues. How to get more than 4gbs in .DMG back ups.
I am currently using a my external hard drive for my late 2009 Mac Mini, my brothers MBP and my sisters HP laptop. I have a Western Digital My Passport 1T external Hard Drive to back up all are information. I formatted it to work on mac and pc and its on the "MS-DOS(FAT) setup at the momment. Im trying to back up DMG files from my HDD hard drive in my computer to the External Hard Drive to pass them onto my brother. I understand the whole part of me getting the "Error Code 0" where i can only put 4gbs of storage for that. I wanted to no is there a way for me to format my external hard drive for it to work on a Mac and a PC but for me to also transfer my .dmg files with more than 4gbs of that storage to my external hard drive?
p.s Im running on OSX 10.6.8 and the DMG files are alittle more than 4 gbs. From 5-10gbs. Thank you for all the replys. It helps me out and others in the Apple community out!Hi, Steve. Your proposed procedure is just fine until you get to this point:

Reformatting the newly-reformatted Mac-friendly drive as FAT32 will, as you say, simply put you back where you were before, but with your data on a different drive. Omit that step, and you'll have a Mac-friendly drive that you can copy your data back onto.
If you normally work with files exceeding 4GB in size, you won't want any hard drive in FAT32 format. If for some reason you'd like all your external drives in NTFS format, download and install the NTFS-3G driver, which will enable your Mac to read *and write to* that disk format. -

When you say "account," do you mean your iTunes library, because your iTunes library is what is on your computer? Your iTunes library does not have an email address. An account that is related to iTunes is your Apple ID (which is an email address) and you use it as your user name to sign in to the iTunes Store, to make purchases. Changing your Apple ID will not make songs disappear from your computer's iTunes library.
If you had an Apple ID and used it to make song purchases from the iTunes Store, and then started using a different Apple ID, you should be able to re-download the songs purchased with the old Apple ID. In iTunes, sign in to the iTunes Store using your OLD Apple ID (and password). That may not be your current email address, but Apple uses it as your user name, so it does not matter.
On the iTunes Store Home screen, click on Purchased under QUICK LINKS. This takes you do the Purchased screen, where you can re-download previous song purchases (for that Apple ID) at no cost.
NOTE: If those song purchases are from more than a few years ago, you may also need to authorize your computer to play (and sync) songs for your old Apple ID.
For songs that were not purchased from the iTunes Store, if they are also gone, you cannot get them back unless you have a backup (or they are still loaded on your old iPod).

Is it possible to use an external hard drive to use the music collection at home and at work?
I recently started using iTunes both on my home notebook as on my desktop computer at work. I also discovered it is not possible to download the songs I bought on both machines. It's a pitty, but I can understand Apple's point of view.
I was thinking of bying a small portable USB powered hard drive to store my music collection on but I'd like to know whether this is possible before I buy myself a USB drive only to find out it's a waste of time and money. I assume it is possible the USB drive is assigned a different letter on each machine, but I think I can work around that. Although it isn't possible to sync an Apple device with two different libraries it is possible to sync with the same logical library from multiple computers. I have my library cloned to a small 1Tb USB drive which I can take between home & work. At either location I use SyncToy 2.1 to update the local copy with the external drive. Mac users should be able to find similar tools. I can open either of the local libraries or the one on the external drive and update the media content of my iPhone. The slight exception is Photos which normally connects to a specific folder on a specific machine, although that can easily be remapped to the current library if you create a "Photos" folder inside the iTunes Media folder so that syncing the iTunes folders keeps this up to date as well. I periodically sweep my library for new files & orphans with iTunes Folder Watch just in case I make changes at one location but then overwrite the library with a newer copy from the other. Again Mac users should be able to find similar tools.
As long as your media is organised within an iTunes Music or Tunes Media folder, in turn held inside the main iTunes folder that has your library files (whether or not you let iTunes keep the media folder organised) each library can access items at the same relative path from the library folder so the library can be at different drives/paths on different machines. This solution ensures I always have adequate backups of my library and I can update my devices whenever I can connect to the same build of iTunes.
When working with an iPhone earlier builds of iTunes would remove any file not physically present in the local library, even if there was an entry for it, making manual management practically redundant on the iPhone. This behaviour has been changed but it will still only permit manual management with a library that has the correct internal ID. If you don't want to sync your library between machines on a regular basis just copy the iTunes Library.itl file from the current "home" machine to any other you want to use, then clean out the library entires and import the local content you have on that box.

I give up. Can someone please help with pf24 on Canon?
I thought I understood how to do this but I don't. I have tried several things but the result doesn't look right to me. I have a Canon Vixia HG21 and today I recorded a little with the pf24 mode.
After converting to apple pro res 422 in FCP 7.0, I exported through compressor using Apple Pro Res for progressive material, changed the video settings in the inspector to custom 23.976 frame rate, and turned on frame controls and set deinterlace to reverse telecine. It shows up now as a 23.976 file in quicktime but still looks bad on my monitor, especially when I pan. It's as almost there is ghosting trails. I see this on my external monitor as well, which is a little Vizio HDTV connected HDMI from my Black Magic intensity card.
I then tried cinema tools, and tried their reverse telecine, after guessing at several different options to choose from. The conform button and selecting 23.98 didn't help me either. I am willing to upload the short clip to my mobile me account if someone wants to download and try removing the pulldown for me. I am just stumped, and really want to figure this out. Maybe I am doing it right, and that's just how the quality of the pf24 looks like, but I doubt it.

Can someone please help with my Galaxy S3
I have my phone set up to read texts when they are received. I think this is because I have 'driving mode' turned on. I like this feature very much. My problem is, with driving mode turned on every time I get a call or text or simply turn on my screen, the phone delays speech for a few seconds and then tells me the time and temperature. If I have an incoming call or text message the phone will tell me the time and temperature at the same time the text is being read which makes it very difficult to understand the text until the time and temp stops. Is there any way to make my Galaxy S3 stop speaking the time and temp but still speak the rest?

I removed the Accu Weather widget from my home screen and looked in my Apps and it's not there anymore, however; when I press the key to turn on my screen it's there until I unlock the screen. Then it disappears but it still reads the time and temperature. This is extremely annoying. I want it to read to me...just not the time and temperature.

Hi I'm pretty knew to programming and I have an assignment which I've been working on but I am stuck
I have to create a 'space invaders' style game, and I've got some basics working. I wanted to add a boss enemy, which appears when all other enemies have been destroyed. It kind of works, only the program spawns a seemingly infinite amount of the boss which then creates a 'wipe' effect across the top of the screen.

I believe the part in bold is the problem, but I dont know why. Klingon and Romulan are subclasses of the Enemy class. The Borg class is it's own seperate class, but with the exact same functions as Enemy. I made it seperate as I figured it would keep respawning if it was a subclass of Enemy.
Any ideas?Its ok, after more than an hour I've got it.
