I have just updated my iphone to 4.3.5 and now my windows pc wont recognise it

I did the latest update of iphone 4  ( 4.3.5) ( ihave the latest version of itunes) and now when I plug my iphone into my windows XP pro ( has the latest service pack up to date) into usb port i get a message saying USB Device Not Recognised....and it does not show in itunes either ...please anyone have this problem ??
