I have just upgraded to Iphone 4S after my Iphone 3G failed and I am trying to transfer the infpormation. Swisscom tell me they cannot help but when I connect the Iphone 4S to my computer noting happensd it does not bring up my itunes account as the 3G ?
I have just upgraded to Iphone 4S as my Iphone 3G failed. I want to transfer the data which I believe is stored in my Itunes account. But when I connect the phone to my computer nothing happens it just ask me if I want to download pictures or video. it does not go to my Itunes account.
swisscom say they cannot help it should go to your account and select the phone under devises but I canniot get a screen to do this can anyone help

When I try to create a new Message on my Mac, Messages does not bring up my Contacts
I have followed the instructions to setup Messages, I can send messages to the email addresses that I have memorized, but when I try to create a new Message on my Mac, Messages does not bring up my Contacts when I type in the search field for a person that has an iPad or iPhone.
This sems out of sorts for an Apple product. Their stuff normally just works.
For some reason, My Mac Mini with Mountain Lion doesn't recognize my contact names, or it isn't synched with my contacts...
Anybody else want to weigh in, please?

I would point out that I did say...
Of course the Contacts List has to have people listed in it.
The Error seems to be that you have not even got an My Card.
The OS when the computer is brand new and you set up the first Admin Account should create at least once Card entry for the Address Book/Contacts which has the Head and Shoulders icon (the My Card)
The does presume the the first account on the Mac doers have a person's First name and Last name to work with.
Of course not everyone sets things up this way.
Anyhow
To Check the Contacts List open the app.
Go to the Preferences.
Go to the Accounts section.
This should list at least two "accounts
One is for Syncing with iCloud and the other is for storing the Info on the Mac itself
In System Preferences > iCloud you can only set up one Apple ID to be the iCloud ID.
If you do or have changed this you may have extra accounts in the Contacts > Preferences > Accounts

HT1296 My iPad music syncs to my computer but when I connect my iPhone it doesn't sync?
My iPad music transfers to my laptop but when I connect my iPhone, none of the music is available to sync. The phone is almost empty and I have over 2000 songs on my iPad I cannot transfer across?
Ok I think i'm starting to understand the issue a bit more... So you have music on your iPad you want to transfer to iTunes on your computer so that you can put the songs on your phone?
Bear with me as i'm not exactly an official apple rep, i'm just trying to help. But, I have 2 possible solutions that I can think of.
Firstly connect the iPad and go to it on iTunes. In the "summary" tab tick "manually manage music and videos". Then go to the "music" tab and scroll down to "manually added songs" and add all of the songs from your laptop. Then try syncing and it should work fine, after asking if you'd like to transfer the music from your iPad to iTunes (i assume you do). After you have synced, go back to the summary tab and untick the "manually manage music and videos" and it should then sync as normal. Good luck!

i plugged in my iphone to restore it but while restoring itunes shutdown itself . if my iphone is not connected to the mac itune works but when i connect my iphone to my mac itunes does not open at all.

Yes. You can set the payment method to "None" once you log into iTunes on your PC/Mac. I have it set up this way.

My itunes account shows I have a balance of 5.37 but when I go to pay for a song for 1.29 it will not let me access this account. Instead it asks me to pay with a credit card. Do these benefits age off. It's been awhile since I used it. Thanks

Once the iPhone is in Recovery Mode, it must be restored with iTunes.

Just bought a new 4th gen iPod Shuffle for my kid. Problem is I cannot do the initial set up, as the device does not show up on iTunes on my PC. Also the charging does not light up. Any ideas on what could be wrong, as I am able to see both my iphone and iPad on iTunes using the same PC?
I also tried manually underlining a few things on the new iPad and when highlighting a paragraph, it would skip a few lines and the line would go through a few as well. Looks like a major iBooks glitch needs to be addressed here.

Help! When I connect my iphone it locks up itunes and my pc!
When I connect my iphone it tries to opens itune, but itunes never opens all the way and my pc gets locked up. I've uninstalled itunes and reinstalled it but it still happens. This isn't a "jailbreak" phone and all the apps I've downloaded are from the App Store. Any help is greatly appreciated!

My main computer died where i was keeping tohusands of songs, never had a icloud account to share with all my computers I authorized for my account. I do have just about all of the music ononeofmy ipod nanos. Can I set up a cloud account and then upload all of my music from the nano? Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..
