My camera has a every size of resoloution. From 1080-60/30 to 720-24.It is totally compatiable with FCP.What i would like to know is what format is recomended for music video's and film production.Any info is greatly apprec!!!! Thank you!
P.S. Ive been producing music for 15 years.Recording on Logic plat.Mastering and remixing every thing. I love mac!!! Now going into video i want to be just Pro with it as i have been with my music.I purchased the jvc because Mac Recomended it and how it plugs right in. FCP 7 is intense!
All the available formats are "OK" for FCP7, the more important question is what's good for the movies you want to make?
In my limited experience, music videos tend to favor 24p for it's "film-like" qualities. The 1080 vs. 720 decision is frequently based on intended use; if you're going to release on the web, 720 is fine and brings much less filesize and overhead to the edit.
My personal preference is towards high-bandwidth footage like the 35Mbps HQ Mode your camera offers because it behaves so nicely in Color. Many people advise staying away from interlaced (HDV) footage unless you totally need it for action scenes.
I think the last 4-5 music videos I've done were all 720p24 and were web released.

I'm a beginner and would like to know which Photoshop to use (so many options). The only edits I care about being able to do are: whitening teeth, smoothing complexions/taking away blemishes. I came to Lightroom quite recently (in the last month!) from Photoshop Elements 11. I like the organization features in LR better, but for adjustments such as the ones that you mentioned I would leave LR and go back to Photoshop Elements 11, primarily because that is what I know. I don't use the subscription service, mainly because I already owned and installed the boxed version of Photoshop Elements 11 and adding it to a subscription service with Lightroom seemed redundant. I am sure someone in the community will (or has) comment(ed) that it is possible to whiten teeth and cure blemishes within LR, but I haven't figured out how to do that yet. Check out the TV Adobe free tutorials, particularly Julianne Kost's tutorials. She has a good presentation style and you might find the LR answer that you need with detailed instructions. -

I would like to know which is the most stable upgrade for my model? Mountain Lion, Mavericks or Yosemite?
When I had gone to the apple care centre in India a few months ago to upgrade my OSX to Mountain Lion, I was told that considering my macbook pro's specs, upgrading it would just make it less efficient, and that I should stick to Snow Leopard unless I consider buying a newer mac that would benefit from it. Is this true? I find it a bit hard to believe. Which update is most recommended?
I also notice that my mac has gotten considerably slower. While using chrome, it buffers and struggles with even just 5 tabs open. Could this have something to do with my current ios? As a precaution, I have always been making sure I have enough free space on disk i.e around 70 - 100 free out of 250GB.

Thanks in advance.Mavericks is no longer available from the App Store, so your choice is Yosemite. One option is to create a new partition (~30- 50 GB), install the new OS, and ‘test drive’ it. If you like/don’t like it it, you can then remove the partition. Do a backup before you do anything. By doing this, if you don’t like it you won't have to go though the revert process.
Check to make sure your applications are compatible.

If the phone was NOT unlocked, it can't work or be activated with any other carrier than AT&T. It CAN'T be used with Tigo or Movistar.

I'm a newbee, (Win Tech) Would like to know what command it is for reaching the reinstall menu at boot-up.
I do not meen cmd r menu wich just install OSX above the OS. I think I need a totally fresh installation.

UffeIt is Command+r or for the online internet system it is Command+option/Alt+r keys. Then you use Disk Utility to erase the macintosh partition, from the built in recovery hd, or you can repartition the drive as one partition from the online system.
To actually get to the online internet system you have to hold that key combo down until you see a globe on the screen. Otherwise it will just boot from the built in recovery hd on the internal drive. -

Next drag your iPhoto library from your Pictures folder to the EHD. When the copying is complete launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and in the window that comes up select the library on the EHD:
Check the file path under the window to make sure the correct library has been selected.
Once you've confirmed that the EHD library is working properly and has all of your photos you can delete the library in your Pictures folder.

The iMac can back up to the Time Capsule, but iOS devices like the iPhone and iPad back up to either iTunes on your Mac....or....to iCloud.
If the iPhone and iPad back up to iTunes on your Mac, then when the iMac backs up the iOS backups are sent to the Time Capsule as well. So, the iPhone and iPad back up indirectly to the Time Capsule.
The iPhone and iPad cannot back up directly to the Time Capsule.

You will have to go via your computer's iTunes. Connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases in iTunes (that should copy epubs and/or PDFs that are in the iBooks app, not just actual ibooks), and if using a Mac with Mavericks or Yosemite on it then do File > Move Books From iTunes in its iBooks app. You can then email them or add them to Dropbox from your computer.

How do I export my video in 500x500 resolution? I know there's a feature in Final Cut Express that allows me to make custom dimensions when I export but I can't find the same in FCPX.
Tom is right, BUT! ...the newest version of Compressor (41.) allows you to do just THAT! ...to export custom sizes.
It's easy. And... once you set it up, you can export DIRECTLY from FCPX, provided you've saved / added this scheme as a "destination" in the FCPX app.
