I have large clips that I want to split and make a DVD where each new clip is a different menu option. How do I do that?

I recently transferred home movies from VHS to .mpg. They are currently in a 60 minute video. I want to split up the clips and burn them do a DVD with an iDVD custom menu (i.e. so I can click on the individual clips to play). How do I edit the videos to save shorter clips to my hard drive?

mpg-2 is not designed for editing. You will need to convert ('rip') your DVD to convert the mpg-2 content to something like DV video that can be edited in iMovie and used in iDVD.
DVDxDV will do this; MPEG-Streamclip with the $20 Apple Quicktime MPG-2 Component will do this; and Roxio's Toads Titanium will do this.

For iTunes backup go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and look at the date of the late backup.
For iCloud backup you have to have another iOS device signed int iCloud and then go to Settings>iCloud>Backup and look.

Hi If you use a new Apple ID when setting up new iPhone Any music or Apps you have paid for will be lost. If you want to use your Apple ID that you have go to apple/support/id/apple.com. Cheers Brian

You can select only the albums that you want to sync in the photos tab of iTunes when you sync your iPad. If you are using iPhoto it is very easy. Simply select iPhoto in the Sync Photos From heading and then select the albums that you want to sync.
If you are using iTunes 11 - enable the side bar by going to View>Show Sidebar from the iTunes Menu. This explains how to sync photos.

Why do Orange and EE blame Apple for the delays in unlocking my iPhone. 10 months now. What is the exact process that these companies have to go through to unlock an iPhone and is Apple in any way to blame for the delays.
Indeed how long does Apple take to carry out its part of the process.
It seems to me that Orange are just trying to stall me despite the fact that I am out of contract with them now. I originally paid to have the phone unlocked back last November. This was never done.
I have phoned them numerous times over the last two months but still they haven't done it. Can anyone advise me and has anyone had similar problems with them.

I certainly understand that only Orange can unlock my phone. My annoyance is that they blame Apple so I am keen to know what exactly is Apple's involvement.
I presume that Orange have to tell Apple that the phone has been authorised for unlocking by Orange and that Apple then notes that in some way on iTunes so that the user can then complete the process on iTunes.
What I would like to know is how much time Apples part in this process takes.
I would also like to make contact with others who have had similar problems.

No not bothered about sycing apps etc it is all about calendars and maybe notes. IN terms of how its done I just want it the easiest way and preferably so that if an entry is made on one calendar then it populates the other.

It is quite easy to transfer your files to the new Mac.
When you start up your new Mac for the first time, it will guide you through the steps of setting up the operating system, and one of the steps will ask you to restore files from another PC, Mac or external drive.
At this point, you can install Windows Migration Assistant on your old PC, choose the option to transfer files from another PC on the Mac and follow the on-screen steps. It will let you choose what you want to transfer, so make sure you transfer the folder with your photographs (normally, Pictures).
After setting up your computer, you will have a lot to learn because it is a completely new operating system. To write events to separate folders, use "File > Export" and select the subfolder format "Event Name". But that will only backup the photos and not your iPhoto library and all the work you invested in organising it. For backing up, see: iPhoto and File Management

When you open iTunes and plug in iPhone (iPod) to computer, it appear in the left bar. Then just simply right click on you iPhone (iPod) and choose Transfer Purchases, this should copy your purchased items to your computer.
