I installed a new wireless router on Tues. (May4) up until that time I had no problems using Firefox. Now I cannot get it to open on one computer, and the other it will open but will not load. Sounds like a problem with the router installation/configuration (likely) or a DOA router (very unlikely).
Visit the forums for the router manufacturer (i.e., linksys, d-link, etc.) and ask for assistance there. There is probably a link to help listed in the router manual.

It's not specific sites. I can middle-click on the same link 50 times and it will open it in a new tab 45 times and 5 of those times, it will randomly open it in an entirely new window. I don't know what's causing this.
It happens so randomly that I don't know how to pin-point what it could be.

I often use the Search function (CTRL F) on webpages to search for content. Since upgrading to version 31.0 it no longer works. It opens but will not find anything.

Make sure that "Match case" on the Find bar doesn't have a tick.

where is your library located?
did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring?
are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?
what type of Mac?
how much free space on your boot drive?

I also have this problem. I cannot open links from a discussion board I frequent nor can I open links from my email. Also after opening my email, I cannot go to any other sites except my home page. I can then go no where else.

I have a laptop that itunes will open but never accesses the store. I have verified that there are no viruses and the internet connection is excelent. I have been through several of the troubleshooting tips on the web sitebut no luck. So I cannot deautherize that laptop since I am at my limit of 5 computers under one account which I think is crap since 2 of the computers died and I can never deautherize them ever!

i have just upgraded to itunese 6.0 and now it will not open. i click on the icon and nothing happens. the hourglass pops up for a second and disappears, nothing appears in my task manager. however when i go to shut down my computer an error message says that itunes is not responding to being shut down.
my quicktime application opens fine as do the rest of my programs on my computer.
Why can't I open I-Tunes? Please any help would be appreciated. (Also is there a number for Apple or an email address to contact their customer service.)

from what i hear, emailing them may not yeild a response, as there are many many folks having issues with the download. Apple does charge for help when you call them, which makes a user forum helpful in times like this.
Do you have Nortons by any chance? Sometimes programs like that are blocking iTunes from opening

Safari opens but will not load the page after I erased my hard drive and reinstalled yosemite. Anyone have a solution? I have to restart for safari to open and load.

I recently erased and reinstalled Yosemite on my iMac 27 (model late 2013). After I reinstalled everything i've noticed that when it goes to sleep/nap and when I come back to it and open the browser (safari) it will not load. I have to restart the whole iMac for it to work. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

After downloading and installing latest ver of flashplayer it will not register What to do?

This problem started with an update for flash player several months ago. I am using windows XP home and Internet explorer 8. Flash player always downloads however the installation fails to register active X component. No flash player. I haven’t seen any info on this problem. Dont know what to do

This happened to me today as well post installing the latest version of itunes. I did a search on google for the error and came across a recommendation to :
Note: Start Windows in Safe Mode to complete any of the following steps if you're unable to access Windows normally due to the msvcr80.dll error.
If, and only if, you're receiving the msvcr80.dll is missing error when you open Apple iTunes, do the following: (skip this step if your msvcr80.dll error is occurring with a different program)
Uninstall from Windows the following five programs in this order: iTunes, Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, Bonjour, and finally Apple Application Support. If you have iCloud, remove it as well.
Uninstalling these programs in Windows is done from an applet in Control Panel called Programs & Features (in Windows 8, 7, or Vista) or Add or Remove Programs (in Windows XP).
Note: Songs and playlists in iTunes will not be removed when you uninstall the iTunes program or any of the other, already-mentioned Apple programs. If you'd still like to back them up, they're usually located in the My Music folder in Windows.
Download the latest version of iTunes from Appleand note the location you're saving it to so you can find it once it's done.
Run the iTunes installation as an administrator. If you're not sure how to do that, see How Do I Open an Elevated Command Prompt? for help. That procedure shows you how to open the Command Prompt program as an administrator, but the steps are essentially the same for anything, including the iTunes installation package you just downloaded.
A general overview of removing and reinstalling iTunes can also be found here on Apple's site but the above procedure seems to work better in this particular situation.

Firefox opens but will not maximize.

Out of nowhere Firefox will not maximize. The icon for it is at the bottom left on Windows 8, and I can hover over that icon and see a small version of a Firefox browser window, but I can't get it to open all the way or maximize so I can actually use it. Any suggestions are appreciated - thanks!
