I have like 11 dollars from the itunes gift card but cant buy a 10 dollar game on the mac app store.
Do i have to use a credit card to be able to buy games from the app store?
Lol. Maynard Krebs! (Sorry, its funny).
Just a thought:
Do you have an Apple store in your state?
State sales taxes may apply if you do have a brick & mortar store in the state
& depending how close to "like 11 dollars" that $10 game is, you may not have enough to cover the full cost (with tax).
That may not be the issue, but can't tell from the original comment.

Why won't my iWork's run? Do I have to rebuy it from the Mac App store?
My pages icon is X'd off and says it can not run with Lion. Am I going to have to spend $19.99 to buy it again?

I have 09. When I click it on the bar, the message: "You can't open the application Pages because PowerPC applications are no longer supported." comes up.
Well, that doesn't make any sense. What does the actual version say in Get Info, not the marketing version?
Try reinstalling iWork, and then run Software update to bring them up to date. -

I've been having this problem since getting my iMac, about 6-8 months ago.
I can review apps for about 3-4 hours after buying them; sometimes for up to 12 hours.
Then it's as if I cross a magic, invisible, and powerfully frustrating barrier - whenever I try to review an app, I get a message saying 'to review this app, you must have purchased it from the Mac App Store.'
In many ways, the App Store is clearly aware that I HAVE purchased it from the Mac App Store. The button at the top of the screen - the one that would usually say 'purchase' - says 'installed.' I can DL updates. I can, for the first sprinkling of hours, provide (and edit) reviews. However, after this mysterious cutoff, the one thing I can't do is leave a review...
Mac App Store support have been well-intentioned, but utterly hopeless.
They started by suggesting I had an 'iTunes error -50', and that I delete / renew my network settings (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1811). I didn't have an iTunes error -50, and the fix didn't work.
They then suggested that I change my iTunes ID so that it was associated with a new email account. OK, right. Done that. Still no joy.
They then suggested that I sign out with my iTunes ID, and then sign back in again. Something which I'd already tried repeatedly, with no joy. (I've also tried deauthorising and reauthorising my computer - again with no joy).
Any other thoughts greatly appreciated...Try this....
In App Store, go to Purchases (top menu). Find the app you want to review, make sure it is marked Installed. Then click on the app from that window. Now try to write a review. This worked for me, but it could also be something I ate. -
About an hour ago, I purchased Real Racing 2 from the Mac App Store for $12.99, but since then it has not downloaded one bit, even though I have a stable wifi connection. The money has already been taken from my account as well. What should I do?
Just to make sure, open Mac App Store and click Purchases. Can you pause the download and restart it?

I am trying to download new version of iTunes from App store having purchased it on my laptop. When I try to download on my iMac I get the following message:
Error message when I try to download new iTunes as follows: iPhoto 7.1.5 is already installed and was not purchased from the Mac App Store - and then I am asked if I want to buy it again. I don't understand the error message and I don't want to purchase the new version again.
Also, since upgrading to Lion my videos (from Sanyo Xacti camera) do not play on iTunes. I can only open photos.
Thank you.Make a back up of your Library. Now you can update without fear.

I have a 2006 iMac that I've upgraded to each new os as they came out. I just wiped it (for the kids to use, I have a new iMac with Mavericks) and reintalled Tiger from the original discs. I want to get it back to Lion - which I purchased from the Mac App Store. But Tiger doesn't have the App Store and I don't have the discs anymore from the intermediate versions. I tried downloading Lion from the new iMac but it's not available...
Any ideas? To get to the App Store, you need to upgrade the Tiger machine to Snow Leopard.

So Every Time I Download From The Mac App Store (In Lion) It Always Pops Up And Downloads/Installs In The iOS Feature Thing, So How Do I Change That So It Doenloads/Installs Straight 2 The Dock Like In Snow Leopard?? lol
Specs...
Macbook Pro (Early 2008)
Intel Core 2 Duo
4GB RAM (MAXED)Actually it does because the Dock is Snow Leopard's program launcher. For Lion, LaunchPad is the program launcher, not the Dock. Don't like that? Here's where you complain. Otherwise, you asked and I answered.

Will iTunes U ever be an App from the Mac App Store?
Will iTunes U ever be an App from the Mac App Store?
Absolutely
Another infuriating Apple dogma, especially for anybody using a 'magic trackpad': you can do pretty much everything you can do on an iPad, only faster and with a higher definition screen!
Isn't it totally crazy that I haven't purchased a single iBook because Kindle provides me a good reading platform on my MacBook Air but Apple doesn't ???!!! -
I get the message "Install Adobe Flash" can't be opened because it was not downloaded from the Mac App Store. This is the first time I have gotten the message. What do I need to do?
Hi Sandra,
you'll need to edit the security settings to install programs 'Mac App Store and identified developers'
Open the Systems Preference and go to Security & Privacy. There will be a section in the 'General' tab for 'Allow apps downloaded from:" The default selection is 'Mac App Store'. Change this setting to 'Mac App Store and identified developers".
This screenshot is taken on OS X 10.10 (Yosemite), so it may look slightly different if you're on a different OS X version.

When Lion officially comes out from the Mac App Store, I understand that I can just buy it from there. However, will the laptops have Lion automatically? Or does it come with Snow leopard still.
The ones sold that day will come with Snow Leopard most likely but they will be able to get a free upgrade to LIon if they apply within 30 days. Hardware coming through the supply chain from the day of the announcement will have Lion installed so it depends what stock people have to move before buyers see those.

If I purchase the latest version of iphoto from the Mac app store on my Macbook Pro, how do I get it to run on my two other Mac computers, which are desk top computer's?
Sign into the App Store on each computer that does not have iPhoto. Use the same Apple ID used to purchase it. Locate iPhoto in your Purchased list and click on the active Install link.

Just installing a few updates from the Mac App Store for mountain lion on my 2010 MacBook Pro, during this it made a noise and then the screen and keyboard went off, like it is off. What happened, is it off...or should I just wait it out?
What kind of noise?
The only things I can think of that make noise are fans and disks. Fans usually will not cause the computer to shutdown as you describe. My guess is your disk drive died. I hope you made a backup prior to start the ungrade.
