I have lines running horizontally on my iPod classic

I have lines running horizontally across the top of my iPod classic, do I need to get it serviced? I restored it and another set of lines appeared

More than likely yes.  It sounds like you have a damaged LCD screen.  You can choose to have it serviced by Apple or a third party repair company for even less.

  • There are gray lines running horizontally on my screen. Does warranty cover it?

I have the MacBook Pro Retina from 2014 and recently when I opened my computer I found small gray/black  lines running horizontally on the screen. I researched the issue and apparently the lcd screen is broken. I haven't dropped it and the screen isn't broken. Sometimes they flicker. Anyway what might be the cause, what is it and is it covered in the warranty?

I would think so but the final verdict will be made at the Apple store genius bar.  Make an appointment.
    Ciao.

In Muse Design mode, on one of my site pages there is an aqua colored line running horizontal & I can't slide my page up past it?

Ok well I realise that my source code needs changing to match that of the working page as transplanting the source code of a non working page into a copy of the working page doesn't work.
At least I have some sort of starting point now to work from.

  • I have a generation 4 or 5 Ipod classic

I have a generation 4 or 5 Ipod classic which has the following showing up on the screen :-
    SDRAM FULL TEST
    Please wait...
    RUN:  BL   on
    PASS:  BL   blink
    FAIL:  BL   off
    Reset to continue.
The screen blinks continuelly. I've tried to manuelly reset it, but it keeps on doing the same thing without any change. I've tried to turn it off with the same result. I've connected it to the imac but it won't show up on the computer anywhere. I'm not a computer wiz so I'm out of my depth on this.

How did you try and perform the reset operations?  By pressing and holding both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear?  Did you double check to make sure the Hold Switch wasn't activated?

! have 11,000 songs on my iPod Classic but since downloading the new version of itunes software I am having trouble locating where I can view my full collection to edit/delete. I can add music and see the additions cannot see the full list. Can anyone tell me where I can view them please?

Here is what worked for me:
My usb hub, being usb2, was too fast. I moved the wire to a usb port directory on my pc. That is a usb1 port which is slow enough to run your snyc.

However it is useless b/c there are weird lines running through all the photos making it impossible to view the photos. • My iPod Classic is not syncing to my Mac. When I plug it in, it tells me the servers do not support it or something along those lines. It is an iPod Classic 8g, and I bought it used for 30. Any help????

Today I bought an iPod Classic 8gb for 30 quid. When I bought it (used) of of a friends, it played music fine, I could listen to it, and it worked ok. So I go home to reset it so I can put my account on it, and sync it with all my music I have (I want to use it when I hit the gym instead of using my iPhone), but when I plugges it in and restored it, it finished the restoration but NOW it wont let me sync all of my stuff on to it, and the iPod is completely black. I restored it to Factory settings, it shouldnt be doing this???? When I plug it in , I get an error that says
"The iPod software update server could not be contacted. The server does not support this version of iTunes."
Makes me pretty ticked off, like honestly how ******* old is this ******* iPod???
Im also running version 10.9 on my MacBook Pro

Perhaps the reason you haven't had any replies is because there is no such thing as an 8GB iPod Classic.
I suggest that you begin by correctly identifying which iPod you have.

  • I had to reinstall iTunes and lost the library, so I used what I had on my hard drive, but I have much more music on my iPod classic than is in the iTunes library. If I synch now will it delete all that extra music from my iPod?

I recently had to reinstall iTunes on my PC (Windows 7) and lost most of the library. I restored with what I had on my hard drive on the PC, but there is much more music on my iPod classic than is in the iTunes current library. I'm worried that if I synch now it will delete the extra music from my iPod, some of which I don't have available to re-rip etc.. Will this happen, or is it safe to synch more content without losing from the iPod what is already there but not in my iTunes library on the PC?  Thanks in advance for any help.

Are you now using a different username from the one you used prior to migrating? If so that is the reason for the problem. You might, then, give this a try:
    To fix Home folder permissions
Open the Terminal application in the Utilities folder.  At the command line prompt enter or paste the following command line:
    sudo chown -R `id -un`:`id -gn` ~
Press RETURN.  You will be prompted to enter your admin password which will not be echoed.

  • I have plenty of space on my iPod classic yet it doesn't sync all my songs. I have the setting to 'sync entire library', but out of 1019, on 993 sync. Why is that?

I just got my iPod Classic in the mail and I have the newest version of iTunes on my PC. However, I have 1019 songs and only 993 of them sync to the iPod. I noticed when I searched for a song I recently bought and it wasn' there. I know there is a lot a space, so I don't understand. Is it a defect? Can I fix it? Please Help!

Thanks but I solved the problem...it was really simple. Out of 160GB I had only used 34GB, so I knew I had space. What happened was in the process of downloading songs I also downloaded a few episodes of United States of Tara, which was taking a long time to download so even though it said I had 1019 songs the 26 undownloaded were on iCloud, not on my computer. So I paused the downloading of my episodes so my songs could finish downloading. Now my iPod and computer are in sync.
I don't know how this works so I'll give the points anyway, for being the only one who attempted to solve my problem.

  • HT1329 I have imported music files on my iPod Classic which I don't have on my old PC as it had less capacity than the iPod. I now have a new PC and want to transfer the music from the iPod to my new PC so that I have back ups. How can I do this?

How do I move music imported from my old CD collection onto my iPod, which I did not retain on my old PC as there was not enough memory. I no longer have all the CDs so cannot import them to my new PC, so want to copy them directly off my iPod Classic to my new PC.
    How do I do that?
    Thanks

You cannot do it (transfer song files from iPod to computer) using iTunes, except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store (and you can also re-download previous purchases using the iTunes Store Purchased screen).
However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can be used to transfer from iPod to computer.  If you do a Google search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.
Once the song files are on your new computer's hard drive, drag them (or the folder containing the files) to the iTunes window to add them to your new computer's iTunes library.

  • HT1386 I am re-building my iTunes library, but still have all the content on my iPod Classic.  I have just downloaded some songs from the store and want to add them to the iPod, BUT when i attempt this the message asks if I want to delete all content on t

I am rebuilding my iTunes library, but still have all the old content on my iPod Classic.  I have just download some songs from the iStore and want to add them to the iPod, BUT when I try to sync it asks if I want to delete all content from the iPod and add only the material that I have just downloaded from the Store.  I do not want to lose my old content, because it is very extensive.

You are trying to sync to other than the one iTunes library you can sync to. You can copy music from multiple library/computer if you use the manual method of syncing. That method is described here
iTunes: Syncing media content to iOS devices and iPod
If you want to make this computer/iTunes library your syncing computer/library you have to restore the iPod on this computer/library. Restoring erases the iPod.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
iTunes: Syncing media content to iOS devices and iPod
To copy other music to the computer see:
Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device: Apple Support Communities
