I have lion and I can't send emails... Everything OK in connection doctor

Hi, Since this morning, I have had trouble with my email. I can receive but not send emails. Doctor connection is Ok and checked protocols according to the guide and nothinh... Please help...

Same with me. I've been trying to send emails through the "Mail" function since yesterday and it still won't send. I've tried signing into Yahoo using safari and sending an email to myself and it works, so it's not the Yahoo server itself.
I can also receive emails through the "mail" function on my macbook air but just not sending out.
Please help!!

  • I just updated my IPad to iOS 5 and now can not send email. The error message says the server rejects the address which is not true Asti sends on my desktop.

I just updated my iPad to iOS 5 and now can't send email- I have tried the obvious but no luck. Any suggestions?

Usually 'authentication required' means that you need to submit a username (or e-mail address) and password to the e-mail server, when sending a message. This logic is not different between Outlook and Thunderbird, and even with the latest and previous version of Thunderbird.
Of course you can try the previous version again to see if it solves the problem, although you'll be less secure because you would be missing the latest fixes.
If you'd be willing to get back to Thunderbird, say if your frustration level with your new app would increase too much, please see our article [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/cannot-send-messages cannot send messages] for further help.
In all other cases I'd appreciate it if you could mark this as answer so we know you don't need further help.

  • Ever since i upgraded my os to lion, my quickbooks can not send emails to my draft folder in mail.  help!

ever since i upgraded my os to lion, my quickbooks can not send emails to my draft folder in mail.  help!

Snow Leopard breaks quite a few drivers - my Canon exhibited the same problem.
I eventually found updated drivers on the Canon website. You can try that with the HP, but if the all-in-one is more than a year or so old, don't hold your breath.
You can also try Software Update to see if it will offer new drivers, or failing that go to the Support Downloads site and search for HP updates.
In fact there's a new one for HP at the top of the list just now.
You may not necessarily want the latest one, though - check the specs to see if your model is covered; if not, search for the previous update etc.

  • My SMTP setting is gone from my iPhone and I can't send emails. How do I fix it?

    Hi,
My SMTP setting is gone from my iPhone and I can't send emails. How do I fix it? Under my email settings the whole server part is missing and I don't know why it's gone or how that happened.
    How do I fix it?
    Thanks

Delete the account and re-add it.
Standard troubleshooting steps from the manual are restart, reset, restore as new.  Which ones have you tried???

  • Mail and SSl can not send  email

I am having a problem with sending mail in 10.7.3 and mail 5.2
The email account is a pop3 account.  It worked fine for a long time.Last week it started to fail to send outgoing emails
I have deleted the account and added it back. Also have deleted the outgoing mail server.(when you delete a mail account it doesn' automaticly
delete the out going mail server)
I have another computer with the same email account and it works fine
Finally I unchecked use SSL and The account can now send emails.
User name and password are set correctly.
I talked to apple and they are blaming it on Frontier.
I have read other posts here about ssl problems with 10.7.2 and Imap accounts

    Hello:
I have the same issue. I am on a Macbook Pro 2 Gb RAM Rev A. OS X 10.5.3 apple mail 3.3. I have setup a corporate exchange owa (2007) account and can receive emails. I cannot send any from this exchange account. on the same Mac I have Entourage and it can receive and send emails. What is the difference and what do I have to do to make Apple Mail work and be able to send emails as well.
    Thanks,

  • I've reset, deleted, recreated and still can't send emails but can receive mail

I've reset, deleted email account, recreated email account. I can receive emails but can't send them.

Try a refresh on your e-mail account. Go your e-mail screen, where the account is listed, and long press the account name. A box will open with several choices -- press refresh. This may solve your problem.

  • Yay - got Mountain Lion. Boo - can't send e-mail

I've just downloaded and installed Mountain Lion and now can't send e-mail.
I'm getting mail OK, but when I try to send I get a message saying both of my e-mail accounts are offline.
I've checked settings again against those on iPhone and they're right.
I've tried clicking Take All Account Online, and it's greyed out, but I still can't send.
What's gone wrong in the upgrade?
    Nick

Just seen a solution in 'more like this' that has worked for me:

I was having this problem with my O2 email aswell. I found a fix that worked for me. go in to mails preferences, choose the accounts tab and click on one of your O2 accounts. find the drop down menu for the outgoing servers and choose 'edit server list'. click on the O2 smtp server then click on the advanced tab. there are 2 check boxes, one for 'use preferred ports' and one for 'use custom port'. mine was set to preferred port, I changed to 'use custom port' and used port number 25. this worked for me, hope it works for you too. you'll obviously need to make sure the port you choose is open in your firewalls.
    Thanks Kid4today!

  • Can't send email on users in some new country Internet domains

    I have following messaging server:
    #imsimta version
Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 6.2-3.04 (built Jul 15 2005)
    libimta.so 6.2-3.04 (built 01:43:03, Jul 15 2005)
Last few says I have noticed that I can't send emails on some of international country Internet domains like [email protected] or [email protected] which are relatively new internet domains registered in year 2006.
    I am receiving following message:
Server Response: '550 5.1.2 unknown host or domain: [email protected]
After some investigation I find out that I can't send emails also on domain [email protected] which is also domain registered after year 2006.
Obviously I have problem because this internet domains are new and messaging server can't recognize any new internet domain after 2005.
DNS server is working fine I can make domain lookup and probably I have to add this domains somewhere in the LDAP or in some config file.
Problem is that I don't know where I have to add them.

The Sun Messaging server only accepts messages for known top level domains. The list of known top-level domains is defined in the file "......./config/internet.rules"
The lists is updated via Sun Messaging server patches.

  • Can't Send email via Frontier

I have a new iPhone4 from Verizon. All is working well except that I cannot send email via my Frontier.com account. I receive email just fine but when I try to send I get a message that includes: "rejected by the server because it does not support relaying." What is that all about?

I found another thread that suggested I set up another account using Microsoft Exchange with my email address. This has worked and I can now send emails!

  • Can't send email while traveling

We live in Texas.  My dad is traveling in Hawaii.  His new iPad 2 worked fine here.  He gets there and he can't send email (over hotel wifi - he does not have the 3G turned on).  Does he need to turn data roaming on or something?  Is there a setting change he needs to make?

As long as he has access to Wifi and is connected, his email should work.  No need to change port settings.  He might want to reboot his iPad and try his mail application again.  To reboot, press and hold BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME time for at least 10 seconds (ignore the red slider) until the Apple Logo appears, then let go of both buttons and his iPad will restart.  Once it comes back up, he should try his mail application again.
