Instead of letters I have little squares

I need help. After I downloaded the latest version of itunes instead of words I have little squares so I can not read it. I have tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it. I have tried restoring my computer to an earlier time. I have tried using an earlier version. I have even spent over an hour on hold to find out how to ask a question t be told because I have an old ipod I don't qualify for help. Someone please help me.

Doublechecking before proceeding, ambie. Which particular language do you want iTunes to be displaying? (English (UK), English (US), something different?

Little squares instead of text in the store

I upgraded to itune9 this morning, and most of the text in the store, except artists' names, are little squares. the fonts i have are strictly only XP pro and oed fonts. i never had helvetica to delete. like someone on a similar but different thread, i assume it'll get fixed someday if no one with xp can read the store, but i'd like an answer sooner.

On my Vista Ultimate system, I managed to work around the issue by switching the display language back to English instead of French. I have other Windows accounts on the system. Those with French as their display language have the same issue. This is just a workaround: I can't use my system in French and make purchases on iTunes. Their is a flaw in iTunes 9.
I am not sure this is applicable to a Windows XP system which is not multi-lingual from the ground up.
I was very disappointed by Apple's phone support (I have an Apple Care contract for my iPod). The first customer service representative instructed me to completely remove et re-install iTunes. I did it but it didn't solve the issue. When I called back, the second customer service representative was very quick to blame my computer hinting at some plugins that would prevent the correct display of the iTunes Store. I think this is a very poor response to a genuine issue of a customer.

Ok so i went like 2 hours to fix this , as i the forum there are lots of threads about this without the answer , i looked with fonts squares but nothing.
Here is the thing , i need the letters á é í ó ú and also ñ , so i had them for example in firefox , xchat , and other gtk based apps. But when it came down to kde they where blank squares , for example in kedit , kwrite , run app , etc.
the thing is because the locale is not well generated. so i went to the /etc/locale.gen and unncommented the lines with es_ES.utf8 , then afterthat i did locale-gen command , so that generated my en_ES.UTF-8 locale.
edited the line on rc.conf , to match that locale and that was it !! now i have all my keboard letters working on kde and every other app

My first try at Arch and the only thing (so far) I got stuck on was the ability to write Swedish characters in KDE applications but still having the KDE language to be english.
For quite some time I was able to enter Swedish characters (åäö) as part of the use name or password during the kdm login. Once KDE got up and runing all I got was dose small squares in place of the Swedish chars..
And yes, I didn't realize I had to reboot for the changes to /etc/rc.conf to take place, just restart X wasn't a smart move

That can indicate a problem with the font.<br />
That site tries to download a font that may not be present (@font-face).
A possible test is to temporarily set the pref gfx.downloadable_fonts.enabled to false on the about:config page to disable that feature.
You can also try to disable Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors: Advanced > [ ] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"

Caused by a Bug in Firefox 4.0b12. It was fixed on Monday in the 4.0b13 pre "tester" nightly's. The fix will be in the 4.0 Release Candidate.

Since then, it still there and the only things i see it is the vertical lines and the arrow with the little square.

En français: j'ai un IMac - Mac OSX version 10.4 et présentement je vois seulement des lignes verticales sur mon bureau et ma souris c'est-à-dire la flèche, bouge mais il y a un petit carré avec aussi des lignes verticales à sa droite. Je pense que ce bug est survenu lorsque j'étais sur Skype avec une amie et que par erreur j'ai cliqué sur l'image de la vidéo et peu à peu les lignes sont appurues et tout l'écran est envahie par ces lignes.

Hello, sounds like Video card and/or heat problems.
Have you blown the dust out lately? Let it cool for an hour or so.

One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode).

You may need to restore iOS.
Backup your iPhone.
Connect it to iTunes on your computer and restore. This will redownload (if necessary) and reinstall iOS.
After it finishes try restoring from your backup. If the problem still exists, try resoring again as a new device (not from a backup) as the problem may have been included in the backup.

White Squares instead of Application Icons in Switch Applications

My "Switch Applications" (Command-Tab) has started sporadically showing a white square instead of one of the icons for the applications I have open. I can still click through to them, but it is a little disconcerting.
No particular application seems to be involved more than the others - Firefox, Finder, iTunes, and a Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client have all done this at one time or another today.
This may be related with the other problem that arose today: some application sub-windows sometimes appear simply as white window. (I mention this here because it may be relevant, but this problem has a separate thread: http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=13094719#13094719)
Does anyone know how I can fix this? Thank you.

Do a backup.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Re-launch Finder by restarting the computer and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.

How to Paint a little square over the X close button on a TabPage.

How can we get C# (VS10) to display a little square on a TabPage close button when the user mouses over the tab on that TabPage.
Examples include that tab pages in Visual Studio. When we mouse-over the X in the upper right corner of any tab, a little square is painted over the X.

You mean like windows 7 behaviour where the red area appears behind a white X as you mouse over?
I would do that by putting the X in a button.
You then have something concrete there to work with.
Change the background color on mouseenter and again on mouseleave.
Otherwise you'd have to work out whether the mouse was over that X you drew on there. And I think that'd be difficult.
Or am I missing something?
Why are you using Drawstring to draw an X on there?
By the way, you should really be asking windows forms questions in the windows forms forum.
It's in your interest as you ought to get more windows forms developers hang out there.

There are a lot of posts in the forums today with people having problems with iMessage. There was also a published outage yesterday, so it's possible there are still some issues that may be impacting you both.
I would just wait it out - I'm sure it will be sorted out soon.

What is the little square?

I have a new installation of LV on a Dell Precision 370 Workstation configured as follows: 2.8 Ghz p4, 1 g ram, 2 SATA HD, PCI express NVidia dual head video card, dual LCD displays, and a PCI-6071E DAS card. Whenever LV is running, a little square, about 2/3s the size of the minimize button floats on the number 1 display. It can not be moved, does not respond to double clicks, however, it can be grabbed and an outline dragged. The outline vanishes when released. It does not seem to interfere with any applications, including LV. The center of the square momentarily changes to a blueish shade of color when DAQ Assistant property box is clicked OK, whether modified or not. The only time it disappears is with another application running on top of it or LV is shut down.
I was having a problem with the DAQ Assistant locking the system; installing the 7.1.1 Update seems to have cured the locking problem, but not the little square.
Has anybody seen this? I can email an image of the little creature, should anybody need to see it.

Could you poll VI-server and ask for open VI's and their size? I have no idea how these pop-up but maybe the getting started window is hijacked?
