I have looked all over on how to get the close tab x back on the tabs including disabling all addon, safemode, and about config value fix but cannot get x's back on tab. What next?

Look at the pref browser.tabs.closeButtons on the <b>about:config</b> page.

If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.<br />
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

Use your backup copy to put everything back.

Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment.

created a movie in IMOVIE and transferred it to dvd but cannot get it to play on my dvd player. i downloaded the free Burn program since i don't have idvd on my new mac the dvd comes up disk error or cannot read. I am using a dvd-r dvd and my dvd player says that it uses this type of dvd. Any suggestions. I spoke to an Apple Support person who helped me burn the dvd but it still didn't work...help???
There's a difference between a data DVD, and a DVD-Video. I believe you made a data DVD, which can't be played in a video player. The Burn feature of the Finder can't author a DVD-V, just data discs.
I assume you made a Project, and put clips from your Event Library into the Project. But then, how did you output your Project, using the SHARE menu?
When I pull down iMovie '11s SHARE menu, "iDVD..." is one of the options. It's the job of iDVD to make the menu that appears when you insert a DVD into your player (that says the title, and chapters, and extras, etc.). You need software that will made a DVD-V disc. Lacking that, you might be able to go to Share/Export Movie... or Share/Export using QuickTime... to get your video into a format that software like Roxio's Toast could burn. -

Apps are not part of the backup. You need to sync them to the iPhone from iTunes on your computer or re-download them from the iTunes Store. For the latter option, see:

I have successfully changed my apple ID and password, but cannot get my Mac computer to change it on iCloud. I have accessed system preferences, iCloud and sign out. But now I do not know how to sign in using my new id and password. I would like iCloud to work on my Mac so that it will sync to my iPhone and iPad. I have installed all of the latest software. How do I change this account on my Mac?
Do you have your Mac backed up?
If not, you should use Time Machine to back up your Mac to an external hard drive just "in case".
But if all you did was change your existing ID, then deleting the Calendar infomation from the Mac when you sign out should not be an issue. Since it is the same Apple ID, it is the same iCloud account (just with a different name), so your Contacts, Calendars, etc. are stored in iCloud. When you sign back in, you will have the option to sync Contacts, Calendars, Notes, etc. with iCloud - it should already be checked. Just sign back in, and your iCloud info will re-download to your Mac.
I just tried this, and all of my stuff showed up when I signed back in. Notes took a couple of seconds to load once I opened them, but they are all there.
Note: If you are signing on with a brand new Apple ID, then nothing will be downloaded because it will be an entirely different iCloud account. But if it is the same Apple/iCloud/iTunes ID with just a new email, then it will all be restored.

I have some songs that have an exclamantion point next to them and I can't get them to sync. I had to move them manually into a playlist and succeeded in doing that but now the playlist won't sync. What's the problem?
I have the same problem and I am very upset. I have heard that Apple/iTunes is removing all songs that are unlicened for this type of download. Apple does not want to be responsible for pirated music. Much of mine is down loaded from CD's. I have to go to search and put in every song and then, if found, put it into My Music then back into iTunes. WHAT A HASSLE. I don't remeber reading anything about this. 224 songs so far. NOT HAPPY.

i have a problem with mail. the spelling and grammer check box before sending the messege is no longer there. I did everything but cannot get it back. is ther anyone who knows how to get the box with spelling and grammer checks before sending the mail.
Also the mail is acting very funny by not getting the rules work in a proper method. Is ther a software to repair mail.i did both of them, but still the while sending the mail the diolog box is not showing up and also the spelling and grammer does not do the spelling check.

How do I get a refund? I have tried to use this converter to change a PDF to a word document or excel document three of four times and it always fails.. I want my money back but don't see any way to communicate with Adobe. i really just want my money back. Very disappointed. You need to use the CHAT link in support to reach Adobe staff. Be sure you know the product name you are trying to cancel, Adobe have lots of products, several converters etc. I think it is ExportPDF you have, most likely.

after upgrades, suddenly no music is on or can be synched to the iPhone. It is all there on my computer but cannot get it to synch back. I tried copying over older itl fils t no avail.
If I click on music under the iPhone icon within iTunes, it shows on a dozen or so voice memos. (also shows them under "Voice memos").

Any suggestions?From the requirements point of view, you can happily move to iOS 6. From the user tranquility pov, it's a crapshoot. Remember that MILLIONS of iDevices have been sold, a couple of those just this past Xmas season and hence all with iOS 6 preinstalled. "Many complain in the forums" is a number that ranges in the 10's or 100's: i.e., a minuscule amount of the total devices out there. And. of course, nobody comes here to gush excitedly about how well his iGadget works; everybody here (save those of us regular users who attempt to help, we're not Apple employees) has a gripe, grumble or complaint.
I can tell you from personal experience that my i5 with iOS 6.1.4 works as desired. All my colleagues' iPhones with iOS 6 work as expected. And we have a particularly flaky Wi-Fi environment thanks to our less than stellar netadmins.
But in the end, it is entirely up to you. Will you bite the bullet, or wait some more? Check the new stuff that came with iOS 6 and decide whether or not to risk it. -
I have just successfully updated my iphone 4 with the latest ios update but lost all my apps. I can find them on my itunes a/c but cannot get them to transfer back onto phone without downloading all again, what I am I missing?
Is "Sync Apps" in the apps tab checked? If it is and they still won't sync, uncheck it then run a sync, then recheck it and run the sync again. If that doesn't help, on the phone itself, go to your app store, tap on updates, then go to purchased, and tap the cloud button next to them to redownload.

When i0S7 was installed on iphone all purchased apps disappeared. Now when I go to app store I can open app, but cannot get app to install on phone. How can I get apps installed back onto iphone screen?
Press your home button, then scroll the home screen all the way over to the right. I found all my purchased apps were moved to a different home screen. Might be a similar issue.. let us know what you found out!!

My LR previews data file has just gone over 50GB, how can I shrink it as I really need the space on my laptop?
Or if you don't want to delete all of it, you can just discard 1:1 previews using Library->Previews menu - that may or may not buy you the space you need.
If you do opt for deleting the whole thing, here is an idea to keep it from going back to 50G: change the size/quality of standard previews and/or the policy for auto-removing 1:1 previews (Lr Preferences -> Catalog Settings -> File Handling).
