I have lost documents by moving them to icloud.. please help!
I was using Office HD to do all essays, lectures notes and finances. While completeing my last essay the programme starting experiencing bugs after the latest update. I then purchased quickoffice and started using that and later purchased Pages to finish the document in.
I now have all these documents in Office HD and to save myself grief of having to go into every document and open in quick office and then close and move from the inbox to the folder... and having to repeat this every time for each document, i decided to look at moving all the documents together.
When selecting all the documents (I selected 9 of my lecture notes) it gave me the otion of moving all the files to my ifolder... inside my ifolder I have 3 folders set up one of them is called Uni.. i chosse that and accepted and boom all 9 documents were moved... i thought great. But now they are gone out of Office HD and nowhere to be found... How do I access my icloud folder?
I have gone onto Icloud.com from my mothers pc to see if I can see them there and the only thing I can see are the document I have saved in pages!!!
Can someone please advise me how to get my documents out from icloud folder???

It can't do that by itself. You had to click through several prompts telling it to restore it from a backup of an old phone for that to happen.
If the phone was not backed up to iCloud before this happened, or to another computer, then the data is gone. There is no way to recover it. -
i have lost all my contacts can someone please tell me how to get them back. They have dissapered off my iphone and they are not on my icloud contacts either, dont know where they could have gone??? Please help.

i download the sofware update on to my pc and the next thing i know all my contacts are gone, the only things that have come up on the icloud CONTACTS app is the service call numbers thats it, i have no idea what to do.. i have itunes on my desktop and i looked for them there but i still cant find them, i dont have outlook i have VISTA so its hard for me to look for my contacts.
im worried that ive lost them. if anyone has some advice please let me know, im new to this and im having trouble understanding it. Thanks -

Lost everything from iWork by using iCloud, please help
I have an iPad with Pages, Keynote, and Numbers, I have been doing my work on them for about one year.
Everything was fine until I bought a MacBook Air, I made a new apple id acount so that I could share my work, that I have on my iPad, to my computer and to be able to use iCloud.
My MacBook Air has some pieces of work that I have done recently, and is useing a Apple Account (lets call it "account 1").
Today I went on my ipad and deleted the apple id account I had it registered to. A window showed up asking if I wanted to delet the work I had on the iPad, or I wanted to keep it on the iPad, so I chose to keep all my work from Pages, Keynote, Numbers, pictures... ect on my iPad.
Then, still on the iCloud section of setting, I registered the iPad to "account 1" the one already registered to my Mac.
Then, I opened Pages on my iPad and saw all my work just disappear, then I opened Keynote and saw the same thing happen, finaly, I opened Numbers and saw the same thing happen again.
I have cheked my Contacts and Photos (on my iPad) and they are still there.
Now that I open iCloud (using safari) on my Mac (registered with "account 1") I cant find all my work from my iPad, it tells me that I dont have Pages instaled (when i already had bought it), so i bought it again (thinking that Apple would know that there is a mistake) but it just used my money to buy it again. After getting it downloaded, iCloud still doesnt show any of all my work.
Can someone please help me, it is urgent and I would apreciate it.

If the device is ever lost, stolen, or simply fails, without having contacts synced to a supported app or a cloud service will result in losing the contacts.
Outlook is not the only supported app. This article explains the supported apps and provides links to how to set up syncing. -
I have found that the exclamation point is back next to several of my songs. I have not moved any files, or deleted any files. I need help so that I can figure this out and have my music back on my iPhone. I can play it on my Mac just fine, and it says it is all on my phone, but I see this ! Okay, I followed the step from another support community:
1. Open Finder
2. From the side bar, click the home folder
3. Go to MUSIC>iTUNES>iTUNES MEDIA
4. Open the corresponding folder for the folder type you're looking for. The contents of the folder will be listed in alphabetical order. Depending on the folder, the files will be sorted by author, artist, or title.
Now, I found the files, and I can play my music through this and even in my iTunes library, where the info on each song is still available. Why can't this information transfer to my iPhone? -

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Delete some apps on the iPhone.

Having troubles running iTunes! I downloaded iTunes just fine, but when I try to open it, it tells me iTunes is in a locked disk or I dont have permissions to write to this folder. Please help! I purchased an iPod for my son and wanted to put music on it.

I was looking through our resources and found an article with information regarding that error message. The article is called iTunes for Windows XP: "Disk is locked" or "iTunes folder cannot be found" when installing or opening iTunes found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1866.
Here is the text but the article contains images for a visual reference:
Verify the location of your Windows XP My Music folder. The default location for this folder is
C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music
If you do not have this folder at the default location and have not moved it to another location, consider creating one inside your My Documents folder.
Download and install Tweak UI from the Microsoft PowerToys website athttp://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx
Note: This utility is for Windows XP only. Please review the system requirements before installing.
Once you have installed Tweak UI, open it from the Start menu.
In the column on the left, click on the plus symbol next to My Computer and select Special Folders.
In the right pane under Special Folders, choose My Music from the Folder pop-up menu.
Click the Change Location button. You may see a warning message appear with precautions for changing this setting; after reviewing the message, click Yes.
In the resulting window, browse for the My Music folder as described in step 1, and click OK.
Reinstall or open iTunes.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, the settings for the current user may be corrupted, which could cause iTunes not to install or open. You may have to install and open iTunes in a different Windows user account.

If the photos were i your iPod's Camera Roll album (taken by or saved to the iPod you can:
- If your PhotoStream is on you can get the last 30 days worth back. See that topic here:

- Or you can restore from backup if you backed up when the photos were on the iPod.
If the photos were synced to the iPod then you have to get them from where you got them the first time. -

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

If you do, your contacts will be uploaded to the account and will appear on both your phone and hers (if she is sharing the same account/ID). Be aware that if you do this, if she then deletes your contacts from her device, they will also be deleted from yours and they will be lost. For this reason, it's usually recommended that different users maintain separate iCloud accounts with separate IDs, which makes it easier for users to restore contacts from iCloud.

You were already provided the answer. If you do not have a backup of the phone while the photos were on the phone, they are gone. When you restore your phone from an old backup, anything that has been saved to the phone since that backup is deleted. Sorry.
