I have lost my UK only search button on my firefox start page ? & cannot find a reason anywhere.

have used firefox start page for some time as it has had two buttons one of which was UK only the other button was for the world, these for some reason have disappeared & there is now just one large search button I cannot find any reason, can anyone help please

I suspect some toolbar has changed the search engine on my home page which is the standard Mozilla Firefox start Page. It used to be google but now is Ask. I want to change it back to Google.

It is down to Symantec to correct their mistake with their add-ons. They originally updated their add-ons after quite a delay to work with Firefox 4.0 as shown here - http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Internet-Security-Norton/Firefox-4-compatibility-hotfix-is-now-available/td-p/428894
They made an error with the update in only listing it as compatible with Firefox 4.0, so they will not install on Firefox 4.0.1 and subsequent Firefox security updates. How do I reclaim the 1Password button into the Firefox Start Page?

I used to see the 1P button immediately to the left of the Awesome Bar,
but after updating to 6.0 it is no longer there.

Wouldn't it be nice if you could keep the Firefox home page, but change the colour? Unfortunately this isn't possible. But what is possible is changing your home page to a different page.

When I use the search bar on the Firefox Start Page it uses AVG Safe Search. How can I change this so it uses Google instead?

I have lost the Firefox start page, so can't access the Firefox tab. I keep getting Ask, which I don't want

For some reason I have started to get a blank type page, rather than the Firefox start page when I open firefox. The blank page has no firefox tab at the top left so I cannot access any of the firefox features by the tab. Also the blank page does not show my bookmarked websites which is an inconvenience. Whenever I type in a search word, the results come up in a page of information promoted by 'Ask"'. I don't want this. I don't know how this has happened but I cannot seem to find a fix. I uninstalled firefox and then reinstalled to see if this would work, but it has not. Can someone help please.

Try to use the SearchReset extension to reset some preferences to the default values.

The default about:home page in Firefox 4 doesn't give such features. You can set the home page to http://www.google.ca to get that possibility. The results page has a "Pages from Canada" link in the side menu at the left.

How do I get back the functionality for the alphabetical drop down from my previous searches in the center Google search box of the Mozilla Firefox Start Page?

In the afternoon of August 24 I lost a feature on my Mozilla Firefox Start Page and I cannot figure out how to get it back. It concerns the Google Search area in the MIDDLE of the page. Previously, when I would want to do a search, for example Amazon, I would type the letter 'A' and, because I had typed 'Amazon' in that Search box before, an alphabetical drop-down menu would come up with 'Amazon' in it. I could then click on that word without having to type the rest of it. That option is no longer working.
I had done an Adobe Reader update that Friday morning, so I thought that might be why this happened,. I did a System Restore and took the system back to Tuesday, August 21. That did not help.
I ran CCleaner and cleaned the Registry also. Interestingly enough, I found that right after I do that and then open a Mozilla Firefox Start Page, the alphabetical drop down function is back in the center Search bar for one time, one search. After that it is gone again. I go in and do just CCleaner (no Registry cleaning required) and the same thing happens...the functionality is there for one search only.
I went in and made sure all my Add-ons/Plug-ins are up to date. I also ran a full system scan but no issues came up.
I am computer illiterate, so please bear with me. I have no idea if any of the things I tried would have helped or not.
I have Windows 7 and Firefox 15.0.1

The "Use custom settings for history" setting allows to see the current history and cookie settings, but selecting that setting doesn't make any changes to history and cookie settings. 
Firefox shows the "Use custom settings for history" setting as an indication that at least one of the history and cookie settings is not the default to make you aware that changes were made. 
If all History settings are default then the custom settings are hidden and you see "Firefox will: (Never) Remember History".

There has never been a reliable firewire ---> USB adapter suitable for external high speed storage. This was a major issue when the MacBooks lost the firewire port a number of years ago (Apple subsequently brought it back).
The only high speed port on the Air is the ThunderBolt port. There are external ThunderBolt drive options out there, but they're somewhat more expensive than traditional USB/FireWire options.
